  1. to drop Street of Dreams and Shacklers is quite idiotic.. for the people that haven't listened to Chinese or maybe just gave it a simple run without giving it a chance, hearing those songs live will surely get some excitement for the album started.. SOD works perfectly live like a classic Guns song and Shacklers is just too crazy live to not take notice :shrugs:

  2. When Gunsguy says "it would never end", keep in mind that Slash left in 1996, and the people who can't get past that still whine about it today in 2012. I'm not sure it even matters at this point.

I think a lot of people could get over this if they played a one-off night actually.. and if followed by a single from the new band (doesn't have to be performed live, just released), it would probably be the best move they've done since '91

(not sure on the year, it just rhymed  )

  3. Tom Waits earned his spot.

    Agreed and so did Dylan.

"When Slash realized the superhuman voice was actually legit, he knew he had found his frontman."

Right. Because Slash was the one that put the band together.

If they never took that trip to Seattle, would GNR have fallen apart before they even had a record contract?

Who knows, but Axl didn't join Slash's band, like this article seems to be misleading to.

I just noticed that. Slash saw Axl sing in Hollywood Rose and was impressed and ended up replacing Tracii in Guns N' Roses. The only original members at that point were Axl and Izzy so as far as I am concerned it was Axl and Izzy's band, not Slash.

Duff got together with Axl and Izzy and it was Duff who asked Slash and Steven if they wanted to join Guns N' Roses, that's what it says in Duff's book anyways.

How much do you know about early guns lore?

    So Duff is lying?

Just asking. Duff may be telling the truth, but we tend to get different stories from all the band members. Oh vh1 behind the music Steven said that he and Slash saw Axl and Izzy in Hollywood Rose and said "we need to get that singer and guitar player"

In one interview with original guitarist Tracii Guns, Duff was already in the band and Duff was never in Hollywood Rose. I am going with Duff's story over Steven's..

Yep, Duff is the one I believe as well.

this came out of "Slash had found his frontman"??

that doesn't even mean that he got Axl to join his band, he just found the right guy to front himself, no matter who joins which band.. I remember reading that Slash kept popping up everywhere Axl went after Tracii left so it just kinda happened. He just knew he wanted that frontman, not that he'd join his band or whatever

stop reading so much into every line written

  4. Montreal crowd was off the chain.

very true.. people just lost it when he screamed "You know where the F- you are?! You're in Montreal, baby!"

still remember hearing someone yelling "I CAN'T BELIEVE HE JUST FUCKING SAID THAT! OH MY GOD!" lol

  5. I don't think people would really buy into the 'Chinese' era as a movie.. people don't want to watch something so over the top that it makes no sense-movie about a singer.. a hard rock band that got too big? sure I could see that happening.

if they do make a movie post-96 then that should be an entirely different movie from the other.. it would just not blend well

  6. probably just The Wall, if there was anything I'd like to change I wouldn't know how I'd want it.. so yeah, that's the only album I wouldn't want fixed..

as for Appetite.. I'd like the outro of Nightrain to be the way it is performed live, so that doesn't make the cut

  7. Why would he go on livestream and say these things..

I feel bad for the guy but it reminds me of those people who go on youtube and record themselves crying

mind you he takes serious doses of pain killers which can drug you up real good.. I don't think it was his original intention to go on about this

  8. No Keef & Mick, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant etc etc. Even Anthony Keidis deserves to be on the cover more than Baz

Well that's your opinion....Baz is fuckin' awesome to most people who listen to hard rock/metal.

Also why is Saul Hudson on the cover?

He paid them, and donated his sparkly top hat :rofl-lol:

So I guess that means Bill paid them and donated his yellow raincoat! :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

    You such a bitch :tongue2::rofl-lol:

    seriously guys, take it elsewhere

  9. *sigh* your history is twisted just a little bit...

we went backstage Before she was demoted... Axl never requested anything from us, it was already in motion.

Been on staff for over a year now here, have contacts in the camp and the band and not ONCE,

not one time at any point have they ever requested anything from us.

What is even more strange is in the year+ I have worked here I have not been told what to or not to post, I used to get told that by the same moderator you are referring.

Also I was invited back then, I never sucked cock to get there, never even knew it would happen because I was not looking for it.

Sometimes the truth is stranger than the fiction you have been fed

But to be back on topic, honestly usually you know someone in the camp or the band or you know someone who knows someone. Also some fans have reported being givin after show passes at the show by a few members of the camp and/or staff, how they pick who goes backstage, I have no idea...

I honestly wish everyone could go meet the guys

This is all bull shit, and you know it. No need to come on here and defend anything. Nobody cares.

how is this bullshit? what of it is?

  10. actually after listening to the song and reading those "official lyrics" they do sound like what he says ... also, it makes the song stronger hearing the 'Compromise' lines like they're supposed to be, after reading the older lyrics I just assumed that's what he was saying but after reading this and listening again I can hear that he's saying more

you can hear him say very clearly "jump" in that 'bad jump' line

  11. eh....the 'casual fan' might think Slash is still a part of the band. If their purpose was just to get a reaction out of Axl, then yeah, he's a tool. But to someone who's never been to a GNR show, doesn't keep up with the band, their thought process is probably like "Yeah, Guns N' Roses, Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Slash!" :shrugs:

you don't honestly think a guy that thinks this of GN'R would go: "oh yeah that band.. better check them out, and oh! don't forget to buy a set of clothes and a top hat to look like this guy I remember from the band" =/
