  1. lol yeah it's pretty damn awesome.. they got some cash to do the video from Universal in Berlin since they just signed them and now they're all moving over there

always cool to see a friend make it but I guess I won't be seeing him for quite some time if everything works out

  2. been watching a lot of Simpsons commentary lately.. it's a great way to get back into the show since I remember all of the episodes I have on DVD so this makes them very watchable again. it's very entertaining actually, never thought I'd like that commentary-thing

  3. the garden

    x2

or better.. I've always found the lyrics fit better if you think of the girl he was in love with being a metaphor for a drug habit (I know you guys are gonna shout out saying "he was never addicted" and all of that... the lyrics just seem to fit better that way)

    especially this part;

If I were you, I'd manage to abhore the invitation

Of promised love that can't keep up with your adoration

Just use your head, and in the end you'll find your inspiration

To choose your steps and won't regret this kind of aggravation

about using drugs to find inspiration, but he's saying it's not worth it, just use your head instead, dummy

    and with this part;

I never wanted you to be so full of anger

I never wanted you to be somebody else

I never wanted you to be someone afraid to know themselves

I only wanted you to see things for yourself

I'd imagine him singing it to himself as if the drugs changed what he felt like and his behavior even though he just wanted to see things for himself...

anyone can read what they see out of the lyrics, which is what makes them great I guess

EDIT: and on the subject of 'The Garden'.. I've always thought of it as a song on peer pressure into the "magical" world of drugs (?) some of my friends are very into drugs so that may alter my views on some song's meanings lol

  4. I hope SOAD fans are doing the same thing (auto-vote and such)

'cause it'd be kinda depressing if everyone is voting for System of a Down and Guns only has a few auto-voting machines =/

anyways, voted once for Guns and once for Lenny Kravitz in the other poll

  5. people at my school were actually talking about this... and people never discuss GN'R in my school and if they do, it's the typical "Slash rocks / why no reunion?" kinda thing.. but I was shocked to see people coming to me to ask if Slash isn't just doing this to annoy Axl and people were talking about how Slash should somehow lose his 'permit' to play the song live (or whatever you call it)

personally I didn't see it, but judging by the picture in today's paper, he's gotten into some funky stuff with his top hat =/

  6. What a load of shit. Just setlists pasted from mygnr and that dudes story. That's not a fuckin book, that's just milking money out of people stupid enough to buy it. And if I was revolver, I'd be claiming some money from these fucks

revolver doesn't get any money for this? come on, that's the only thing in that book that is worth something...

I just get my free copy of the mag.

but personally I just think it's way cool to have a foreign magazine to hold around some good memories so I don't really care for much else.. no matter what else is in it :)

  7. I met him in Montreal and I'd concur with everything Montrealer said. I found Axl to be a very funny, cool, and genuine person.

I was at that show, how was it wen u met him

It was really cool. Axl was telling lots of stories and cracking jokes. He was really animated, and a great story teller. If he put out a spoken word album of just him telling stories, I would buy it. Anyway, later on that night I talked to him for a few minutes and he was kind enough to take a pic with my friend and I.

It was really cool like ITW says. When I got introduce to him he was a real gent. Took the time to shake hand, talk a few minutes and said a few jokes. After a few drinks, he was funny as hell! It's been a year and I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It was the best night of my life! I left the party and it was time to go at work. I couldn't sleep, the adrenaline was too high! Met him in Quebec City too and he was still a gent. When you talk to him, he take the time to look at you and listen to you. You don't feel like a nobody and like he doesn't care.

just wanted to add how very true this is..

at one point we were sharing stories at the afterparty at some club in Montreal and after each story he told me, I was thinking "aw hell no, I don't even know anyone that could top that one"

so I just said something from my own experience, kinda expecting him not to care since I just might've been telling him about a moth a saw in comparison but he was always very interested in everything I said, thought very well about what I said and replied/asked and whatever people do when you almost feel "superior" at parties (like the main guy telling all the stories, cracking all the jokes and people pay great attention and ask about this and that...)

don't really know how to explain.. had the time of my life and thanks again Montrealer for a kick ass time!

  8. Matt's exactly right...check out when Axl belts out "I'll rip your heart in two" he looks RIGHT at Duff. Axl's still got the voice but beyond that what...6 beggars and hangers on??

just looked at that video again because I thought it's be fun to see them interacting like that moment you mentioned.. but all he's doing there is just acknowledging his presence there.

and that's pretty much the only time he ever has any interaction with him on the stage during the song. (just watched YCBM)

would've loved seeing more of it, at least since you're making such a big deal of it :shrugs:

  9. if it wasn't him, why didn't he just have the account suspended?

Not so easy to prove it's your account if the hacker has changed all your details,

You know this how? Someone cracked your twitter?

Man, all the time professional atheletes say shit they shouldn't have, like about other players, their coaches, leagues etc. on their twitters - and then when it gets reported or something; they like Axl, claim their twitters were hacked; And after they make this claim, when you go to try to read the twitter post, the account has been deleted or suspended.

Also, no cracker with a brain will change details.

actually a friend of mine had his Twitter cracked and it was way more complicated than emailing them to get the account corrected/deleted/whatever... so he just didn't bother with it since, well.. he's not a professional musician who actually needs it

    Spin it how you want.

    I don't buy this.

Axl would just need someone at the label or his lawyer make one phone call.

not that I'm disagreeing with you.. just wondering how/in what way you saw me 'spin it'?

Anyone ever notice that BBF does NOT follow Axl Rose? And OMG, neither does Tommy Stinson.

    WHAT COULD THIS MEAN?

that his twitter was hacked and not in use anymore so they "unfollowed" him?

  10. if it wasn't him, why didn't he just have the account suspended?

  11. I really don't want to piss and moan, but it breaks my heart that I don't physically have the cash to go along and see a band I'm a fan of.

How old are you? You can't earn those £50 to attend GNR show?

In Moscow tickets cost 200$ on average and we did't complain

I'm 18, and if you read an earlier post of mine, you'll see why I can't afford it.

so then that's you.. we've all had money problems, I'm sure. But I don't intend other people lowering the value of their product just because I'm in a bad place in my life at that moment. I mean seriously, if I was the one making this topic what would you say if you could afford it yourself? you might feel sorry for the kid but you're not honestly gonna fight for price changes for him :shrugs:

  12. if that's how you honestly feel about the price, I don't think you should go...

not because you're "not a fan" or anything, just that if you go see a show with that state of mind you're never gonna think that it was worth it
