  1. i think the whole cancer remark has less to do with slash then everyone thinks, he said that one month after the massive promotion for CD, did anyone ever consider that this was a big fuck you to azoff?

  2. World has lost it, rock is dead, and everyone became pussies. Axl is not,and that's why people cant get him. I mean the majority of course. Go see Tokio Hotel,Radihead,Muse where you can feel safe,be home at your sleeping time and have enuff time for the milk, and get up early to catch the vehicle leading to your miserable lives.

    +1

Agree with this. It's so sad when there is a concert in town and at 11pm you see the train packed with people going back home... it's like, they are all slaves to society/corporations and do everything as told.

It's called having jobs, responsibilities, and such. Some of us have other people we are responsible for, like children. Axl should realize a lot of his fanbase are in their 30's & 40's now and fall into that category.

so take the day off and get a babysitter, the last tour was in 2006 and i imagine you can get your shit together once every four years, you've known about the show for months so why do you expect the scedule to adjust to your needs?

it's a guns n roses show, it starts late at night and will go on till the early hours, if you don't like it go see some other band.

  3. the fact that this was done in the media .. seems to be giving axl an ultimatum i dont think is gonna sit well ... this could get interseting .

looks more like the promotor is trying to make clear that he's not to blame for the show getting cut short but the city council, preparing the crowd for the worst and possibly avoid a riot.(he knows from experience that axl has the charisma to turn the crowd agaist him when he hits the stage)

that or he's still pissed because axl called him a fucking asshole on his own stage :D

  4. you´re full of shit, there´s 3 negative reactions in the comments section and most people are just discussing the venue. no one said it´s not gnr (one person did mention they was the ´real´ gnr in 93), en nothing came even close to anyone commenting on this gnr being crap,

Yeah.... now go and look up the graspop item and the gnr leaked tourposter item. The general consensus about gnr isn't all that positive. Since you didn't deny any of my other statements I assume you know they're already true based on this news item.

    Remember the mention in 06.

Axl: I could hear you all way down at the hotel!

    Good times! B)

I think the last opening band (Alice In Chains) finished around 8 back then. And between 8 and 10 after every song on the speakers that ended the "guns and roses" chants started. And with every new song that started playing they faded again. Until, around 10, the finally went on. :)

same handfull of people in these threads, besides people often complain about festival lineups like this in the comments section, i don't really care about possible ticket sales so i didn't bother replying to them, i do know the album sold well in the netherlands so you might be surprised, especially since the generally quite positive reviews from the 06 show (read them and you'll notice everyones surprise at the fact that the wait for guns was only about an hour, with the show kicking off at 9.30)

  5. Something interesting:

This is probably the biggest online concert website/community in the Netherlands. They keep track of what's happening and where. News, gigs, festivals, you name it. And yes, the website has a comment's option with every news item they post. Usually they're filled with positive reactions. Sometimes mixed reactions. But with their GnR item nearly *all* the replies are negative. "It's not gnr", "this gnr is crap", "too expensive" (tickets are 55 euro's), "they'll never sell all those tickets", "axl is a dick". That's the general tone there. And keep in mind that this is a generally positive crowd of music fans.

The venue only fits 12 to 15 thousand, but I'd be just plain shocked if they'd sell it out. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be half empty. They should book the Heineken Music Hall instead, which fits roughly 7000. I think they sold about 10.000 to 12.000 tickets in 2006 in Nijmegen. And since then their popularity seems to have declined. Which is a shame.

Oh well, I know I'll be going.

you´re full of shit, there´s 3 negative reactions in the comments section and most people are just discussing the venue. no one said it´s not gnr (one person did mention they was the ´real´ gnr in 93), en nothing came even close to anyone commenting on this gnr being crap,

  6. Thanks for the info, i'll update my thread now :xmasssanta:

capacity for the gelredome is 35000, but i've only seen it sold out when pearl jam played holland for the first time in 6 years, queen & paul rodgers used about half the stadium on their first tour

  7. i would love it if these dates were true but there is no such thing as the arnhem dome, only the gelredome in arnhem,

never have i heard anyone refer to it as the arnhem dome so i doubt if this is official, then again with grn all true true rumour seem to be ones riddled with small errors like this.

  8. one album

Yes, amazing, isn't it? One was all it took. :tongue2:

    to tarnish the band's legacy..

You are right. It has tarnished the legacy. It was greeted in the US with a yawn, if that.

that says more about the US than about the album, unless you feel that because the jonas brothers are popular they must be amazing.

  9. These songs were born on a computer and it seems they can only live on a computer. Axl tried to make sure these songs would work live but every fucking CD track he uses a backing track. They were playing stadiums with the old band and never used a backing track because the music was organic and had soul.

So I go to the concert and its like what am I paying for here? To listen to Axl and the band play over their own fucking CD? Bullshit man.

Edit: Didn't mean to imply that anyone currently in the band actually wrote any of the songs they cover off CD, AFD, UYI, etc.

    "Sorry" bout that.

judging by the topic title i tought you wanted an answer, but it seems you already made up your mind in '96.

if you don't like it don't go, spend your money elsewhere, get yourself a hobby or maybe a shrink cuz you need to learn to let go.

  10. @axlrose tweets:

So I'm in the shower at the gig after r Sao Paulo show n' when I touch the faucet I get a jolt of electricity!! Wtf!! Time 2 get the fuck out da water!! Anyway! After a bunch of meds, about 2 1/2+ hrs of warmups, r show n' another hour of warmdowns we'll b headin' into Rio for r show there. This was hard comin' as all anyone bsides the band thinks about is the money. Who gives a fuck about the fans, how it sounds or if it fucks up the rest of the tour?! I don't perform for ANYONE in this industry n' no matter how nice, funny or what spin they put on things they're seemingly n' unfortunately all the same. We had a good show here in Sao Paulo n' a bunch of opportunists w/out my knowledge or consent did their best to make it about them b4 hand instead of the fans or there wouldn't have been shit in the Post but hey we got past 'em enough to do r gig. What's really crazy is these same types have the unmitigated gall to feel they're the ones who were taken advantage of!! Fuck the bourgeoisie!! Of course that's not to say there weren't plenty in attendance the other nite who like us got duped as well but the others well... It's not for them or their kind (or stalkers or press agents etc.) It's for u. Thank you Sao Paulo!! Peace, Axl-

Best tweet so far. Love it

you're fast man, nice to see him adress the issue of the not so secret show though.

  11. No, the problem is that the majority of "internet fans" think they're the only ones who deserves a gnr secret show.

indeed, we're not 2nd class to him, he just thinks we're no more special then anyone else who loves the band, posting on a board doesn't make us better then anyone else who comes out to see the band.

  12. Does the concert security really have the legal right to take away your camera. I mean, they could tell you to take it back to your car, but they don't own it. They aren't real cops.

concert security has the right to deny you entry, and they're willing to safekeep your camera 'till after the show.

these signs are pretty much standard at every dutch show (they even have a traffic sign for the no crowdsurfing thing, which had axl laughing in '06)

  13. From Fernando on HTGH:

We did not advise any security to ban any sort of apparel.... If they did, they did it on their own accord, or under someone else's order - from within their management.

Can we squash it now? Or should we discuss it for like 10days, then discuss about why we discussed it for 10 days, for another 2weeks... then, reignite the conversation on how Axl himself was at the venue doors, telling everyone that Slash linkings and/or apparel is not allowed.

    .................................

    Ali

    There is a reliable source

I'll take fernando's word over a fucking rent-a-cop, security rarely knows what they're talking about, i'm surprised the guy knew what band was playing.

  14. My favorite song, but It's pretty obvious that Axl can't pull out this Live. A shame

Musically it sounds pretty good and is one of my fave's off the album, but Axl has sounded like a mess every time he tries it.

I can't help but feel he has not rehearsed this much if at all with them, because he is clearly the weak link in it (and some of the other songs he struggles on).

It is kind of unfair to ask the band to be on point with this stuff when he clearly isn't putting in the effort on getting some of the new material down the way they have.

    Agreed.

it;s a cellphone vid, how the hell can you tell if it's a good performance when i cant even make out what he says before the song.
