  1. I hated the new Star Wars trilogy and I've been a SW fan since I was 11. :anger: In some way, you're right. But I don't think Axl is as 'blind' as old George. George Lucas wanted to please too many different types of audience and failed miserably. Axl's not going to do that.

You opened my eyes, lucas did everything to please his audience, and we ended up with a mediocre trilogy because of it, it's kinda nice to know that axl works on his own terms, so that when it's done, it was worth it :)

  2. Axl would be a fool if he gets Bumble to replce all of Buckets parts with that awful shredding that Bumble does. Axl nobody gives a shit who's in the band anymore so just put out the album.

i'd like to think that they finnished bumble and franks recordings before the tour, the problems now look like stuff with the label (judging on ron's comments at ottawa and the fact that the shit seemed to begin when merck left sanctuary)

also the harley people will be really pissed if they payed big bucks to use a new song and then get shafted for six months, contracts must've been signed on that one so they cant postpone it forever right? i've got a feeling that something's wrong.

  3. Surely I'm not the only one who realizes that there will be some sort of announcement when the release is close at hand. It's not going to just pop up on Best Buy's computer one day without notice. When I'm in a record store I do check the GN'R section as I have been doing for years, but I would feel like an idiot walking up to the counter and asking an employee if they had a release date-maybe it's just me though.

you're right, i walked up last week, and i felt like an idiot when the guy pretended to look it up on the cash register (the comp they normaly check things on is beside that and he didnt even bother to walk over to the damn thing :( ) worst part is that after 13 years i knew something like that would happen but i asked anyway

  4. At least you you left the store with something. -_-

I don't know why you're so upset about this. AXL did not say it was coming out today, Rolling Sone did. You set yourself up for disappointment. Now go listen to your new cd.

that's really the worst part of it, not that you're laughed at at your local record store, but the fact that you know, going into the store, that you will be making an ass out off yourself in a few minutes and your too 'i can't even describe what the fuck we're doing' to do anything about it

  5. Please vote for GnR on this Dutch site: http://top2000.radio2.nl/stemmen/page/top2...rpagina_normaal

Just click the button "verder" select three gnr songs (preferably November Rain first as it has the biggest chance on winning) and then click the button "verder" another two or three times. You can just fill in fake names and e-mail adresses if you want.

I'd really appreciate it if you vote because this list is really big in Holland

    Thanks in Advance

ah well, if boudewijn can do it....

  6. so europeans could get it Christmas day?

No store is open on Christmas Day. :book:

then that rules out the 26th

releasing it on x-mas, best loophole ever.

maybe they'll just say that the record sold out in the first day, next batch expected in a few months,

  7. dude a monkey couldve figured it out

    Probably.

Anyways, did you figure it our ?

although i am in someplaces known as a proud monkey, i actually expected a us release before the european release, since more people in the us are likely to download it. there's no hype in europe, nobody really knows what chinese democracy is , not counting the 700.000 people who went to see gnr this summer ofcourse (my logic is flawed, i know)

  8. i think the difference between now and the 02 tour is more with the fans, in 02 everyone wanted a replacement for slash, so finck sucked at that, now everyone goes in to see the new gnr (after the first tour and the demos we all got a little more comfortable with the new sound and the way the new band played everything) so a lot of people are now more willing to embrace the new style of the old songs.

  9. i hated it when i first heard the rio show, but ever since i dowloaded one ofthe remastered versions a while back i've been starting to like it. i might just be starting to get desperate for the new album though.

(axl's plan: no new stuff till they all love silkworms :D )

  10. we can analyze these things to death, but right now there's only one thing that i want to know, who's the asshole that crossed out the new tom waits box in the first picture :fuckyou::P that thing might be the closest thing to cd next tuesday (since brain might be playing on some tracks)

  11. woohoo, someones makeing sense on this board, that must mean that hell is freezing over and CD is coming out at last :P, but seriously, why the hell would someone be exited all year about axl saying late fall and then lose their spirits when we're just entering late fall.

  12. this is not an official release, it's already out in europe and it's just another bootleg like deal, i dont know why those things aren't pulled, they sell a 2-disc toyko bootleg too in every dutch record store.

*edit* if they can't pull it then maybe they just want to release an official version so that they at least get the profits. that's about the only reason i can think of.

  13. i don't think the music will be as far out there as for instance claypool's stuff but if they actually do the surprise release thing they sure will leave their mark again on the way the record industry operates.

to the guy who said that punk=rock, you are thinking too much in the now, when gnr did it 20 years ago it was quite different to what was done by other bands, at least those that were in the mainstream.

  14. "Master betrayed us. Wicked, tricksey, false. We ought to wring his filthy little neck. Kill him. Kill him. Kill them both, and then we take the Precious and we be the master."

great quote, this record is my precious (not to mention the fact that my friends promised to give me this for my birthday in the late 90's)

if the record is gonna come out soon then this is the way it's gonna go, thanks for posting this rumour, 'i believe in you' :D

  15. God Save the Queen? Isn't that a Sex Pistols song? even though it says Brian May, I'm gonna call fake(I know I still seem a n00b cause I never post, but I'm here every day reading all the rumours and all, I just don't feel like an important enough member to get involved too often) anyways, God Save the Queen doesn't seem like something Queen would do, after hearing both the Sex Pistols and Motorhead perform it, I gotta be lieve something is wrong, but, maybe its just me, correct me if I made a mistake, and bash me if you feel you must, cause I know this could make me seem like a total fool

it's actually the british national anthem, may recorded it on quitar on one of the first records and queen used to close every concert with that one playing over the PA system.

queen & paul rodgers were in the studio a few weeks back and they have started recording a new record :) no word of pittman replacing john deacons bass parts yet though

  16. Pfft Robin is the sweetest to his fans. He is a really good guy - he does have a firey streak to him though. But the way he comes across on his website - he cares you know. I dont think he would of done that to the guitar tech unless he really deserved it.

How could a guitar teach deserve to be traeated like that? There's nothing a guitar tech could do wrong to deserve to have a guitar thrown at him and pushed around and shit.

yeah, unless you can't seem to get a guitar working for someone who's trying to play a show for a few thousand people, robins out there trying to give his best to the crowd and he ends up looking like an ass cuz of some incompetent asshole in the back.

no tech deserves treatment like that because that guy has no business being a guitar tech.

  17. John Deen, Maine State Fire Marshal was just on the air with WBCN stating that the pyro technics were fine, that one small adjustment was made. The only issue was that the band wanted to bring bottles of booze on stage and this is prohibited by the liquor law. They can bring cups on stage, but not bottles It was rumored that only 3000 tix were sold and normally when about 500 fans are waiting outside to get in, there were only about 50. Axl was rumored to not even be in the state of Maine. State Fire Marshall calls bullshit.

source www.wbcn.com (interview about 5 mins ago)

I listened to the whole thing, if u got questions, let me know.

O well, im off to the DCU center tommorow..Chinese Democracy starts now.

so axl decided not to go onstage because he didnt bring a bottle of booze onto the stage (has he ever done that anyway, he's always using cups right? ) and besides he wasn't even in the same state. this sure makes a lot of sense

  18. firemarshalls have more to say then just pyro stuff you know, it's also about crowd controll and safety, and given the guns track record with riots it's only a matter of time before some over anxious firemarshall who is afraid of getting a bloodbath on his hands starts enforcing some nazi rules.

and concerning the acoustic alternative, you just know that people would be complaining about it because they went to see a rock show and they got some old guys whimping out on them with an acoustic guitar ;)

  19. My boy just sent me this.

"Brain Dead" Axl at it again

As some of you know, Frank Ferrer is currently drumming for the band on tour. The official word is that Brain is unavailable at this time because "he is still a new father". However, 2 days before the tour start, an email with the message "Brain has quit for unknown reasons" has reached me. Take it for what it's worth. no clue where its from ..

BULLSHIT!!! brain told the band that if they booked many shows this close to the kids birth he would have to sit them out at the beginning why the fuck would someone who has worked so hard quit this near to CD?

yeah that seems really farfetched... especially if you don't know who this email came from (i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you actually got said email)

this info is from newgnr.com, i read it this morning. im not a frequent visitor to that site, how accurate are they there?

brain is probably just spending as much time with his family as he can before the release of cd, cause they'll be damn busy afterwards
