  1. def leppard like many other bands "had their day" but that day is long over, times change and move on, only a select few legendary bands will live on forever!

i dont think def leppard have been forgotten, i remember the hype of the release of 'X' in 2002...it was pretty highly anticipated. Its actually a pretty good album with a really good ballad called 'long way to go'

i admit i like a few DL songs like animal, photograph, hysteria and lets get rocked....and im not ashamed of it and i dont care what anyone says

why should someone be ashmed of the music they like? does anyone reall deserve to be put down for their music taste?

  2. Vertigo (i think its called) sounds like they're trying to change their music to fit the latest trend in "rock", they sound like Jet or sumthin like that. Pretty sad they have to adopt their image and style to suit the trend of music listeners. zeppelin or floyd never did that and they where succesfull as fuck, thru the 60's 70's and 80's an even 90's. Same with the rolling stones

do you even know what your talking about? fit the latest trend??

Jet are basically copying a band called AC/DC...ever heard of then? <_<

and that is not the 'trend' at the moment...

  3. I admit the album isnt great but at least its a new album right....its not like axl's giving us anything

but i agree, whenever i listen to it, i usually end up putting joshua tree or achtung baby on.

  4. sorry, i forgot to say what my favourtie albums were.

not many of Sammys are good....youre entering cheesy ballad area so stayt well away.

VH really rocked with Dave and the debut really shows that, 1984 is also a very good album with songs like Jump, Panama and hot for teacher.

so i would suggest collecting from the debut 1 album at a time, look out for the cover of 'Dancing inthe street' its amazing

  5. Van Halen are a great band. Shame about the bad history with Dave Lee Roth

Yeah cos most of what followed Dave's departure was pure shit. I saw a Dave interview earlier this year and he was talking about his joint tour with Sammy, he said he told Sammy "Look I'll go out there and do my 15 songs and then you can do your 2" You know its true

yeah, well Sammy's carreer isn't limited to Van Halen. Although Sammy's Van Halen output was awesome. When he goes solo, he never relied on VH material to carry his show. Because he has had solo success, the kind DLR only wishes he had. So yeah, true Sam only did a few VH songs on that tour because Dave did his set of ALL VH songs! that's sad, that he don't have a solo carreer to pick songs from.

wtf? DLR's solo career was awesome...much better than Sammys..he got fuckin Steve Vai to play guitar on his album, so it cant be that bad

  6. i dont like the album very much...quite dissapointed in fact

so i just went back to Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree....the U2 i love.

    by the way Bono

    the Sydney video is awesome

especially when he does the prank call on a taxi firm...he says his name is Mr Maniphesto and starts singing 'show me the way to go home....'

    its very good

  7. theres 7 since u have that RHCP guy...Flea is a BASSIST not an electric guitarist :krider:

    Ooops *feels stupid*

just an opinion...but i think john is majorly overated...listening to his solo's tend to bore me

Well every1 is entitled to their opinion :D and that is yours as wrong as I may think it to be :P

Anyway on topic I would like to add James Hetfield cos he aint tht bad

i read in a guitaring magazine that he doesnt even like doing solo's...how crazy is that...what kind of guitarist hates solos???

    its madness...madness i tells ya

  8. theres 7 since u have that RHCP guy...Flea is a BASSIST not an electric guitarist :krider:

  9. i got that DVD a while ago, amazing

i also have the boston 2001 one

btw, what an amazing performance on SNL last night, 3 songs?!

    what songs did they do?

  10. Hey Bono....question

is the Boston show any good? i have seen it and thinking of buying it...not too sure on it though, its very expensive

i just bought ZooTV live from Sydney on VHS....shame its not on DVD, but havent got round to watching it yet

It is good and I played it all the time. that is untill I got the Slane Castle dvd. Boston is good but really it's no comparison for Slane Castle. If your a U2 fan( I think you are ;) ) You'll want both but for anyone who wants just one good U2 dvd go with Slane Castle. AS for the ZOO TV show in Sydney I have never seen it. I can't be bothered to order the VHS. This is from time to time a hot topic on U2 forums as to when the ZOO TV show will be released on dvd as well as the Popmart show from Mexico City. Rumor is Sydney will eventually be out on DVD but Popmart unfortunatley probably won't ever be out on DVD <_< Scotty you should check out the Rattle & Hum dvd. It's awesome. The performance of Sunday Bloody Sunday is epic and Exit is fucking brilliant. Watch that and from then on when people tell you U2 isn't a real rock band you'll laugh. ;)

well im looking to but the popmart video from my local store, theyve got it for £4.00 (bargain!)

i was going to buy R&H with the Slaine castle DVD together...but i came up a few quid short so had to put Rattle back :(

    and...you got it right...i am a U2 fan :P

the best album of the 90's by far...Achtung Baby

  11. I mean this in a curiosity kind of way,

doesnt U2's music sound processed to you.

I cant figure out how someone thats into Gunners enough to be here can listen to U2 or the Eagles, or Bon Jovi or some of the other bands people celebrate on the forum.

It must be me I guess

well people do have other musical tastes apart from guns

the thing about U2 is that their music is always new, always different and in a new direction....unlike bands like Bon Jovi that just make cheesy ballad songs for every new album.
