The only thing some are thinking upon hearing this news is, how will this affect pornhub?

Yeah, I don't want to get jerked around. :jerkoff:

Honestly, I couldn't really tell you.  For Sunday's show I was front row, upper bowl with an empty seat besides me.  With no jostling and an unobstructed view I could focus on all aspects of the show.  But from that distance (even though the seats weren't that far from the stage, relative to stadium shows), you're still "watching" the show.

Monday night I was a few rows from the stage on the floor, so it's less about watching and instead being apart of the show.  Completely different experience.  It becomes less about the music and songs played and more about the theatrics and the energy of the stage.

I suppose Monday was the better show if you're simply counting the number of songs or if you prefer TWAT over Prostitute.  I thought Axl sounded better on certain songs Sunday and then better on other songs on Monday.  I guess the band felt tighter Sunday as they had Friday and Saturday off.  But all in all, it's really difficult to compare the two.  I think if you went to either you were treated to a great show.

I was in the second row, upper bowl, perhaps I was sitting behind you and I had no idea that I was in the presence of the illustrious mygnrforum admin? ;)

I've seen all the shows going back to 2002 and this was definitely the best performance I've ever seen. It's a completely different animal with Slash back in the lineup, and I was a fan of the old band.

You really do need to be there in person to actually experience the energy of it for yourself for you to actually "get it". It makes the nitpicking over the internet look kind of ridiculous after being there live. That's not a knock on anyone, I was guilty of that myself. You just simply don't notice little bullshit things that people point out online, when you're actually having the live experience.

I would have gone to both shows as I've done in the past, but even my fandom has a limit with these ticket prices. No cash left behind in this lifetime!

  4. Yeah, you're absolutely right. The writing is so bad that none of the story lines seem to go anywhere, or make any sense. And the characters are so poor you barely know who, or what they are.

That Jinder promo did get a lot of bad press in the media. The article I read claimed that the crowd chanted " That's racist!". The reason this matters is because investors and sponsors don't like any kind of bad press.

I think the PC paranoia does have an effect since you don't see the over the top personalities anymore that say entertaining shit to get heat. Could you imagine Bobby the Brain and Rick Rude making fun of fat Women on TV in 2017?

I also agree that ultimately it is all Vince. He's obviously completely out of touch with modern entertainment. I also get the impression that he despises his own audience. The Undertaker streak ending the way it did felt like a giant FUCK YOU to the fans.

At least Vince used to actually have some vision. Once he's gone Stephanie and HHH are going to finish it off for good. I say WWE will RIP by 2030. Wresting will probably survive as a small niche subculture, especially in Japan.

  5. I've been a fan since Hogan slammed Andre back in the day. I finally tapped out after this years ( yet another) abysmal Wrestlemania. However, I decided to check in this thread just to see what you guys were saying about the current product. Doesn't look like I've missed much.

I'd honestly be surprised if WWE lasted any longer than another decade or so. The magic is long gone, and from what I've read, so is the rest of their audience. Ratings are in the shitter, and I've seen the shockingly low live event numbers, as well as the tarped off, empty arenas.

There's only so much revenue that they can generate from the network. They've completely lost their way, and it's only a matter of time before they R.I.P.

I blame that fucking Panda for getting the F out. That truly was a bad omen. It's seems like WWF (E) has been dying a slow death ever since then.

WCW going bankrupt, the Chris Benoit tragedy, as well as the new PC culture have also contributed IMO.

See you say that only 5 instead of 10 million stuff but would many others do the same?  Thats why millionaires are millionaires, cuz they dont miss a trick, dont drop a penny.  Dont mean to say cuz someones rich then millions dont mean nothing to em, quite the opposite.

I say good on him.  If he feels that way about it, and I can see why someone would about Trump, then good on him.

Its also weird that its being touted as some kind of sellout thing, like hes become part of some mainstream when before he wasn’t (a dubious proposition to begin with), hes attacking the fuckin president, i mean you cant get more mainstream, more establishment than the president.  Its weird how all these Trump backers think like they’re some kinda alternative voice to something.

John Lennon or Jello Biafra or John Lydon or Sinead O Connor goes for an establishment figurehead and its radical, Eminem does it and he’s a sellout, fuck that.

You don't seem to get that Trump is not the establishment figurehead. The entire establishment HATES Trump to the point of insanity.  The establishment that is the Democratic and Republication party, the media, and Hollywood intend to destroy him and his support base. Just for the record, I'm not convinced that he's going to come through for his supporters in the end either.

I get your point that Em was never exactly Public Enemy, but he was kind of going against the grain when he made fun of gays and talked about having sex with the Pop tarts back in the day. He was even protested against by the same people that came after Axl Rose.

Now he's just clearly on "their" side. Especially with his "line in the sand" remark. On the other hand, his buddy Kid Rock is an outspoken Trump guy, even going to the White House! He's had groups attempt to stop his shows in Detroit despite all the things he's done for his city.

Maybe Eminem and Kid Rock should settle this once and for all with an epic battle of the rhymes!

It is unsettling and not just from an Islamic point of view, there's a valid argument that someone like Elliot Rodgers was also radicalised by a very narrow world view.

Another aspect to this that is rarely tackled head on is cultural male violence. Yes, before I get shouted down for this I realise 'not all men' and that occasionally women do horrific stuff too or are implicated as complicit in violent crimes. However I believe something like 90 odd % of violent crime is male and no one ever hears first reports of a lone shooter and thinks it's probably a woman who did it.

This is an issue the world over but for the west it's particularly a problem in the US because of access to guns. If banning guns is really off the table ( I don't think it should be btw) then this is the next conversation that should be going on and not just within feminist groups.

I read earlier about a street artist who has mocked Jimmy Kimmel for appearing publicly emotional about recent events, he was derided as having an estrogen problem. It's misogynistic crap like this that causes some men to feel their only or most socially acceptable outlet for frustration or unhappiness is rage, sometimes turned inwards contributing to a high suicide rate but often outwards towards murder or murder/suicide.

I don't have any easy answers but the debate should be out there and ongoing.

    A Man control debate?
