I'm getting really into jam music lately. Stuff like The Grateful Dead and their spinoffs (Bob Wier & Rat Dog, Phil Lesh & Friends, etc), Moe., Umphrees McGee, The String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, etc. They just prove how boring molded shows are by comparison. It's all freeform expression - sort of the Picasso/abstract branch of music in a lot of ways. I really dig almost everything I've been listening to by those guys (mostly The Dead+spinoffs and Moe. lately), and just needed to voice my support of these guys after that other thread.

Any other hippies/Dead Heads out there?

While some of their music is decidedly country their attitude and album Not ready to make nice seem to be pushing some boundries on the Rock and roll side. Thoughts?

I've never heard a good GN'R cover, but Sheryl Crow certainly did a horrible cover of SCOM.

aside from AFI they have al been pretty weak, but then i heard the dry kill logic one, and i like it better than the original.

What are some other bands covers of Guns' songs that you like, and what are some others that you really dislike, that make cringe?

I think Dry Kill Logic's cover of "Its so easy" is one of the best covers of a gnr song i have ever heard.

cowboys from hell rocks wayyyyyyyyyyyyy harder than afd, but there is just something about AFD that makes it an amazing album. Afd is more thourough of an album, but when it comes to balls out rock CFH takes it. Both are amazing.
