  1. No, 'he' was referring to himself.

Just another quote: '‎1 hour late, played shit, Axl was out of tune and they were just generally wank. Definitely not worth £50 a ticket. It was like watching an innacurate covers band.'

I'm just passing it on, don't shoot the messenger. I'd post his comment if he'd praised the band and hailed it as the best show ever, it's only because I know him, I thought it relevant to post it.

  2. Best - Kasabian at V 2010. An electric atmosphere, not hampered by the rain, and they just played hit after hit.

Worst - There's loads: Biffy Clyro, seen them twice, and they were shit, twice.

Suprise - Florence & The Machine. Amazing at V, considering they're always shit on TV.

Coolest - Kasabian again. Probably the first time I saw them.

  3. Hi,

My PC (A Windows XP) can't remember my profile. I don't have any of my settings restored, nothing is where it should etc, you get what I mean. It's like I've logged onto a brand new (albeit, old) PC, that just happens to have all my documents on it. My Mum and Dad can't even log onto theirs, but because I'm the PC administrator, it logs me on with what I suppose is a reduced setting. When I go to log on (and I won't log out and read it as it just takes too bloody long for it all to do) it says something like 'There isn't enough space for system requirements'.

This has literally just happened, and I've no idea why, or how. Help would be appreciated.

  4. Saw Example and Calvin Harris last month at V festival. What can I say, incredible. Just mental. Not used to it, as I wouldn't normally go to such a dance orientated act's own gig, but it just felt absolutely incredible.

  5. 1. Kasabian - Underdog

    2. Cast - Company Man

    3. Kings Of Leon - Crawl

    4. The Doors - Peace Frog

    5. The Charlatans - One To Another

    6. Shed Seven - Going For Gold

    7. Amorphous Androgynous - Circadian Rhythms

    8. The Black Crowes - Remedy

    9. Pearl Jam - Alive

    10. Puddle of Mudd - Change My Mind

    11. The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour

    12. Elbow - Grounds For Divorce

    13. Exit Calm - Hearts & Minds

    14. Ocean Colour Scene - Riverboat Song

    15. Coldplay - Everything's Not Lost

    Proper.

  6. Yes I have been to a Guns N Roses, and it made me fucking sad to see at least 25% of the arena empty before even halfway through the set, because of the late start. And QOTSA finished at 8:45, and don't give it 'well they have a complicated stage setup so meeeerrrrrr', PLEASE! Do me a fucking favour. AN HOUR LATE MEANS THEY WERE READY TO GO ON AT 9:30. Do me a fucking favour. Doing this at a festival which could lose it's bloody license, is simply fucked up.

  7. First off, apologies if there is a similar topic about this in this section right now, the server is falling apart at the seams and I can't really read anything, or check if there are other topics on this.

    Let me summarise:

GNR have gone onstage about an hour/an hour and a half late at Reading. One of the most respected, loved festivals in the world, EVER. Axl Rose is not, has never been, and will never be bigger than Reading, Leeds, or indeed Glastonbury, V, T, Coachella, or any music festival, anywhere. The biggest acts in the world couldn't demand something as ridiculous as turning up way later than advertised. The Rolling Stones, U2, even if the Beatles got back together (and out of their coffins), they couldn't make such a demand. It serves Axl right that the crowd are booing every song, which is only right. That crowd have stood there all day, in the rain and mud, and it's now VERY fucking cold, and they're being made to wait, for what? An ego. An overblown, inflated ego. Guns N Roses haven't been relevant for years (No, Chinese Democracy is not relevant in today's world, for those of you furiously defending the album. I love it, but popular, it is now.) This was Axl's ONE chance to show the world that actually, he can lead and orchestrate a succesful new incarnation of this band. If he'd shown up ontime, he could've blown the fucking roof off the joint. But no, because he thinks he's King, he can do as he please.

As for all you idiots stating 'Pfft, all the fucking indie kids at Reading obviously don't know a good show when they see one'. Reading is a ROCK festival. And the fact that Lostprophets, Biffy Clyro, QOTSA and more, can show up, rock the whole festival, and SHOW UP ON TIME, just makes GNR seem even more of a ball ache. The crowd know a good show when they see one, and they know that GNR aren't one.

Seriously, I've grown the accept GNR's shortcomings, but this takes the fucking piss. And before you all retort with 'Don't let the door hit you on the way out' or 'If you don't like it, fuck off', this is a FAN FORUM, and the DISCUSSION section of that forum. I'm allowed to have my opinion, of which many of you I'm sure will agree with. If all we're allowed to do is praise and arselick that band/singer, then it isn't a forum, it's a mockery. I'm raising my very valid thoughts, and my fucking frustration with a band who have no respect for their fanbase. I rarely post in this section, my main haunts are the AG sections, so it's not like I'm losing out by not posting in here anyway.

But I am done with this band. I won't buy future albums/gig tickets, and I simply don't care. I'm tired, and overall, dissapointed. What a fucking piss take of a band!

  8. I have a feeling Lennon had this urge to be avant garde in some sort...and failed miserably every time. He's my least favourite songwriter in The Beatles, tbh.

He definately would've tarnished their legacy if the band would have continued another 10 years or so. His writing, and his life with Yoko, sort of became quite irrelevant and unrelated to anything that could go hand in hand with 'The Beatles'.

  9. Okay, so instead of these 'Recommend an underrated band' or whatever, just recommend a band you may have seen on Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, Last FM etc etc etc, or maybe you happened to catch them live.

Exit Calm - Hearts & Minds

A very Verve-like band, with huge, echo-y guitar lines. Saw them live last month and they blew my head off. I think these guys could be massive.

Goldheart Assembly - King Of Rome

Quite an odd band these, I can't quite place them as Alternative, Rock, Indie, or Psychedelic, they're a mixed bag. They have a great sense of melody, and harmony as well.

    The Ganjas - Sonic Redemption

These guys are proper heavy psychedelic rock, from South America. They have a lot of shoegazing style tendencies to them as well.

Cherry Ghost - We Sleep On Stones

A very classic style of pop music, plus they have a lot of elements of rockabilly, and psychedelic 60's as well. Have also seen them live, and found them easy to listen to, whilst still being brilliant.

    The Whip - Trash

Quite electro-indie-post punk-danceflor anthem, this. Quite a tune, not much to it, but very catchy and memorable.

Six By Seven - Ready For You Now

Very anthemic pop song, a very good singalong band. Sadly never hit the bigtime in their short spell together.

Paul Thomas Saunders - Starless State of the Moonless Barrow

Very ambient, beautiful kind of folk music, sounds like it was recorded in space.

That'll do for now I think.

  10. I really don't want to piss and moan, but it breaks my heart that I don't physically have the cash to go along and see a band I'm a fan of.

How old are you? You can't earn those £50 to attend GNR show?

In Moscow tickets cost 200$ on average and we did't complain

I'm 18, and if you read an earlier post of mine, you'll see why I can't afford it.

  11. I'm a huge fan of the new lineup, but, as I stated, I'm short of money at the moment, and £50 is a ridiculous fee. I already said that last time, while the gig was good, I didn't really get value for money with it, and I feel I may do so even less with this gig. Bear in mind it costs me £20 to get the train to London, plus food and drink, any merchandise etc, 1 night out will end up costing me £100 or so.

  12. Somebody already referenced my post as 'the band being mediocre in the public's eyes', not my own, maybe read the thread first.

I like Guns, Im not obsessed though, Im the middle ground between the public and the fanboys, and I can tell you that the tickets are ridiculous.

But the prices are similiar to other bands, so it isn't ridiculous. You're exaggerating.

I can see most gigs at the O2 or Wembley Arena/Stadium (The 3 biggest venues in London) for under £40. Like someone already said, there's no consistency.

I can tell you that the tickets are ridiculous.

And I can tell you that you're ridiculous.

Yeah, the price might be more expensive than all the mediocre, shitty bands out there, that play the same old indie shit, but when you want to go see a legendary rock band you do tend to pay a bit more money. Look at Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, etc. It's "expensive" all around, you shouldn't be surprised, and I think considering what other bands have been charging, £50 isn't bad.

I take it that you're under the opinion that: Same Old Indie Shit = Anything that isn't Classic Rock. That's fine, but don't try to justify the prices because they're legendary, or whatever.

    50 bucks.

    Damn the OP is cheap.

I'm an 18 year old student, in a crappy part time job, on minimum wage, trying to balance a personal life in which I have to haul my arse to places like, hmm let's see, the hospital, where my Mother is currently laid up having had a serious operation. And then there's transport to college/uni, which obviously during these months I don't have to pay, but will do come September, seeing as my Dad is too fucking broke to provide, and I can't get support for it. Please, do not criticise me for being 'cheap'.
