  1. Axl is setting himself up to be a rock legend ( if he isn't already ) . All this stuff he does will still have people talking bout him in 10 years,20years, etc........ kinda like morrison. and now if he has checked into a psych ward, it just adds to the legend.

he wouldn't be the first to check himself into one ( alice cooper did the same thing years ago ).

hopefully ( if it's even true ), he'll get his sh*t together. just like Slash and the other guys have said in recent interviews, Axl is a f*cking genius when his heads on straight.

    Facts

dude's probably right about there being a problem within the band. brain and buckethead were confirmed for that les claypool show before the GnR tour was ever cancelled. maybe once the new lineup all got on the road together they discovered that they don't get along. who knows?  i wish axl&co would release some sort of statement, but i'm not holding my breath for that to happen.

  2. But you see if you dont want to "live in the past" then dont stay stuck listening to GNR.... Go out and find some new stuff by new bands.... You see the thing is that GNMR is an old band... I mean we shouldn't have to rely on the new gnr for new music... I mean sure if axl was to be ion this band but call it a different name then that would be great!.. But it kind of takes away from the legacy of GNR....

I mean i support the new band becuase it is better than noting, but at the end of the day, i will always be listening to AFD, and saying "this is the real gnr and no buckethead, or finck, or brain is ever gonna change that"

i listen to plenty of new bands. Mushroomhead, Audioslave, SOAD, Sevendust, etc........ i don't rely on the new GnR for new music ( thank god, cuz i'd really be screwed then ).

  3. last i heard axl&co were guaranteed $500,000 per show plus 25% of merchandise money. they paid the openers out of that, so that leaves probably atleast 450,000, then you figure they have to pay their crew. they were making good money, that's why clear channel was losing almost $200,000 per show ( with the exception of the shows that were sold out or pretty close to selling out). then axl had to pull his crap, so CC probably decided he wasn't worth it and nixed the rest of the tour.

hopefully he gets his sh*t together, finds another promoter, and actually does a tour and shows up to ALL the shows.

i bet the reason GnR hasn't issued any kind of statement is because there could be a lawsuit involved with CC over all of this, and Axl doesn't want to jeopardize that. he could atleast post an apoplogy to his fans on the GnR site. you've gotta have respect for your fans, or you lose them.

  4. i like the old band too, but i don't see them reuniting anytime in the future, so we can't live in the past. the new band are all talented musicians, as are the old band. even axl has said in some of his recent radio interviews that slash is an excellent guitarist and could play his ass off while under the influence of LOTS of drugs. the problem with slash(according to axl) is that he doesn't want to grow as a musician, he just wants to do the same thing over and over again ( kinda like ac/dc).

hopefully with "the project" slash and co. show that they have grown as musicians and put out a kick ass cd, and not something that sounds like it should've come out in 1988.

  5. this is the only thing i found at billboard.com:The hobbled Guns N' Roses North American tour suffered a final blow today (Dec. 11), as promoter Clear Channel Entertainment confirmed it was canceling the remaining dates with which it was affiliated. A handful of shows being worked by other promoters were also axed.

couldn't find anything about axl&co. working together again.

  6. from billboard.com:

  7. there are rumors flying around that axl is gonna put this new band to rest. anyone think that'll happen? i see it as a possibility. now after all of this a reunion would definately be more significant. i wonder if the new cd (chinese democracy ) will still be released.

  8. Axl join the project???HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!  it would be nice to see, but it ain't gonna happen. there are way too many egos there, and bad blood . plus those guys wouldn't wanna play anything off of chinese democracy and axl has spent too much time and money not to release that cd, the record label would probably slit his throat for that one. If the old GnR were to get back together, then axl should atleast release chinese democracy, but not under the GnR name. it could be " The Axl Rose Experiment " or something.

When the hell are they (Axl & co) supposed to release this "statement"??

  9. IF robin has left the band ( and it's probably just a bullsh*t rumor ) who will they get to replace him? and does that mean we'll have to wait even longer for chinese democracy to come out ( so they could have the new guitarist record over robin's work )??

i seriously doubt that the old band is ever gonna get back together and if they did, wouldn't that just set GnR back about 5 years? Slash, Duff, & co. won't wanna play any of the chinese democracy stuff, so they'd have to start all over.

when is a statement supposed to be released????

  10. i'm just glad i got the chance to see them in chicago before the tour went in the sh*tter. too bad, they were awesome live, i feel bad for the people that waited as long as i did and aren't gonna get to see them. i'd suggest buying a bootleg from ebay.

  11. let's just look forward to cd #1 ( chinese democracy ) for right now, then worry about futeure cd's. last i heard Chinese Democracy isn't due out til june now ???

  12. on our local radio station's rock report they say it's sebastian bach and the cd will be out in late 2003/early 2004 after seb's done with his broadway crap. supposedly they have over 40 songs written and they're working with a different singer right now for rehearsals. i wonder what they'll call themselves.
