I'm downloading that right now with bittorrent- you can find it here:
http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showth...ight=guns+roses
Don't think it's a "proper" release, just a bootleg. Full show except Paradise City is cut at the end (shame). But it does have Coma performed live and Shannon Hoon singing on Don't Cry.

Not sure about CITR, Axl was hesitant about that one on the radio interview. I suspect that's from a previous version of the album and won't be apeearing. This new track "Sorry" sounds intriguing. Wikipedia describes doom metal as being a little like Sabbath- is that true?
Edit: just read the post above. Yay for CITR!

Axl said the album would be out in "Fall, late Fall" on Eddie Trunk. By my reckoning that would mean the album has to be out next month or Axl was lying.
-
Saw TOL when they opened for Guns in Glasgow. There was an interview in the Scottish newspaper The Daily Record on that same day where they were praising GNR! Has no-one ever told these guys that it's not a good idea to bite the hand that feeds?
-
Does this mean they're going to be streaming a live performance?
-
Anyone noticed that on the live Better there's some new synths at the point where Axl sings "I never wanted you to be so full of anger...". I prefer the opening to that song live, but the a lot of the cool guitar effects don't sound quite the same live- more generic noodling I guess.

I think everyone here would like it out November. heck, they'd like it out tomorrow. The issue I think is that not only do fans want to love the album, they want everyone to love the album and are worried it'll be overshadowed by other releases. I agree with Negative_Creep- roll on November!
-
Maybe in the US it could affect sales- rest of the world not a chance. The real problem is the albums coming out that day from Oasis, U2 and Jay-Z.
-
Has to be sometime in November. October is too soon for giving it proper promotion, and December would contradict the official line of "Late Fall". I'm going to say November 14th because that's where the smart money seems to be right now.

Hey this sounds really great for an audience recording. I take my hat off to you (and the original taper of course). It's great to be able to hear this as I can't sign up for Dime . Thanks again.
And thanks once again for Better!

To quote the office: staying home and having a pot noodle and a wank*. Oh and monitoring this forum of course.
*not really

You need a capital .JPG in those extensions dude. It's case sensitive. Just edit the links.

Riyadh took a while to grow on me but now I think it has a lot of potential. The House Of Blues version has too many oh-uh-uh-ooooh's and all the versions could do with some more substantial lyrics. As far as I can see we've yet to hear a definitive version of this track which shows it's true worth.
-
Welcome To The Jungle is where the smart money is. Maybe Nightrain also. I can't see there being any new songs opening the show until after the album (or maybe a single) is released.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! I though the interview with Axl on Eddie Trunk would finally put an end to these reunion threads. There ain't gonna be no reunion. None. Nada. Why would there be? The whole Chinese Democracy thing is about to come to fruition and VR are working on their next album. Slash and Duff are also still sueing Axl. Maybe in a few years it could happen. But not now. I'm happy to be proved wrong and eat all the humble pie I can stuff down my fat face, but the chances of that are slim.
-
Maybe the beginning and the end will be similiar, but the middle will be overhauled. I don't think too many people would cry if they dropped Out Ta Get me, My Michelle and Think About You.
-
It's the best way to promote the album. Tour Europe with a selection of the new songs and the classics, all the time mentioning the forthcoming album. Release the album. Tour North America. Bam: the album sells well in both territories.
-
It's like the Rolling Stones Live Licks album. That came in two versions- one topless, the other with a bikini. I think the bikin version was censored for the benefit of the prudes of this world, including those of iddle America who run Walmart.

great! another 15 year old telling us how the eighties went down. no Crue = no GNR.
Acyually I'm in my twenties. I really don't care for all that eighties hair metal and actually I think it's more: no Aerosmith=no G'N'R. But hey everyone's entitled to their opinion, no?
-
I loved the anecdote with Axl and Bach meeting David Lee Roth. "You guys ain't nothing but pretenders to the throne."...."Dude, why you being such a diiiiICK!?". I was on the floor with Axl's impression of that.
-
When Axl says there 'was a word' it's because he'd just sworn- said something about his 'fucking cellphone'. As fate would have it, the signal cut out just as he swore so no-one knew what he was going on about. I guess this means they'll definately be playing Nightrain then? Excellent- that was one of the old songs they did best in 2002.

I think Motley Crue are one of the most over-rated bands ever to existed. At this point I'd like to apologise in advance to Crue fans for any offence I may cause.
Motley Crue, for me, represent everything that was wrong with eighties rock (or hair-metal). Alongside bands like poison and any number of campy rock acts, they turned Rock N Roll into a ridiculous prancing circus-act and produced some truly awful music. Sure a lot of it is fun, but most of it lacks entirely in any kind of substance. They even dragged the once brilliant Aerosmith down to their level in order to ensure continued survival.
Guns N Roses unboubtedly would of taken some influence from these acts, but fortunately they were inspired by the aforementioned Aerosmith at their peak. By the time G'N'R came to release their debut, they had put the edge back into rock and succesfully taken the best of both seventies rock and the more flamboyant eighties rock, with a dash of punk for good measure. Of course it would take Nirvana to finally kill off hair-metal.
Bottom-line. Axl deserves a comeback more than Vince Neil- who's band still puts out dated sounding, and ultimately forgettable music. Axl at least is forever attempting to innovate, succesfully or unscuccesfully as it may be. Oh and is it just me or does Vince Neil's singing voice sound like a bit like Axl- only more femine at at a higher speed? Rant over. On with my life.

Wembley isnt gonna be ready until september 2007
Wembley Arena not Wembley Stadium I think.
-
who slash and duff? no. Izzy and Axl contributed the most to the song writing process.
Yeah but Slash and Duff are two of the original line-up and Axl is just one. It's kind of nit-picking to say how much was contributed by individual members but most of Appetite was a collective effort.
Will You Burn Copies Of 'Chinese Democracy' For Friends?
in 2006
Posted
What's the legal situation in terms of buying one copy then making some more for yourself e.g. for listening to in the car or whatever. Is it legal to do that? I'm sure when you buy an album the physical disk is next to worthless (except obviously the value of owning the artwork) and you're realing entering a contract which entitles to listen to the music- regardless of whether it's on the original disk or an iPod or back-up copy? COuld someone clarify this? Whatever the case The only way I'll be listening to the album is from the freshly purchased album inserted into my stereo system and the volume cranked right up!
As for making copies for friends- not a chance. Mainly because they'll all be buying copies as well.
