  1. Interesting that Axl pulls the late starts when he thinks he can get away with it, other places not. EX- when Guns opened for the Stones he wasn't 2 hours late, VMA's he was on time, Freddie Mercury tribute concert he went on when told, HOF induction of Elton he was on time. He didn't have the power to pull 2 hour late stunts in these instances. All these show's woulda rolled along without him, he knew he couldn't play games.

Apparently the old "This is Guns N'Roses and when the time is right the stage will ignite" didn't exist at these events?

Awesome job man, you can name 4 shows in the last 20+ years. You deserve a cookie.

Dude- my point is Axl can/will show on time when he doesn't have the power. He can show whenever he wants (1.5+hours late) when he headlines, but when someone else holds power he can't get away with it. Also, he would have never dissed Elton or Freddie like that. Do you think they woulda waited 2 hours for the Freddie concert because Axl wanted to be late, nope. He had no choice. So either Axl is a hypocrite or "the time was right" coincidentally at the aforementioned events. If he makes us wait, why didn't he have balls to pull that stunt at these events? Wouldn't that really be "rock n roll" to make the (hundreds of thousands watching and in attendance) at the Freddie show or VMA wait 2 hours? Or to make Elton wait at his own induction, Axl should showed like at midnight....but nope, he behaves when he has to.

The VMA's were probably the most horrible performance Axl has ever put on and he hasn't signed on for anything like that since then. Coincidence?

He coulda gone on at 3AM and still woulda been a joke of a show. Also- Freddie Mercury show was one of the best...he kicked ass.

Freddy Mercury was his idol, I think that had something to do with it too. I agree, when Axl wants to, he can bring it at a set time

  2. there is nothing wrong with the late starts, just as long as most people know about them and expect them so that the crowd doesn't grow restless while expecting the band to hit the stage at 8 pm and then turn against axl when he comes out at 11:30. I say they should just post the late start time on the tickets, that would solve everything. Something like "show starts sometime between 11 pm and 12 am."

  3. He was dancing less because it was raining, he's got a tour coming up, and maybe - just maybe - he doesn't want to slip and break his neck.

His voice was poor-ish because it was his first show in a year.

He was pulling his jacket down cause it was one of those half length leather jackets that keeps riding up.

    Get the fuck over it.

This post pretty much sums it all up. I don't want to be too selfish, but considering he's coming to play in the U.S. for the first time in ages and I booked tickets for many shows, I'm glad he was careful during the Rio concert in the rain and didn't risk injuring himself (he even says this during the concert near the beginning) and of course his voice is a bit off, he hasn't performed in a long while, and from the audio I heard, it isn't nowhere near as bad as some people are making it out to be. He sounded great on some songs, especially estranged. I think when he warms up and gets into a song his voice sounds great, when he's distracted by stuff going on around him like wet spots on the stage, tight fitting clothes, or if someone in the band is playing a riff a bit differently or something, he looses focus and his voice suffers, and he forgets lyrics.

  4. I dont expect new stuff, but if anything I would love to hear Estranged live! Going back to topic (kinda) hope they play San Diego. And if they do, LA will be a shoe in.

Maybe if we're lucky LA will be the new year's eve show, that would be cool!

  5. Well there is no for sure but remember they have not announced all dates just yet so ya never know

even if they book the date and sell tickets, you guys should know by now that nothing is ever for sure, even when axl hits the stage it's possible he will throw a tantrum and storm off in the middle of the show. It's pathetic but we should just enjoy each show we get because they are all rare events.

That fucks your mind up right? You can't handle that these shows were all played and Axl didn't leave...

When you compare what they have done to what problems happened it's not even close.

LOL! That is what bands are SUPOSED TO DO, along with release albums and do interviews, etc. They have also cancelled more shows than any other band in the US in the last 10 years, and have caused more riots for storming off than anybody. Also, the last time they toured the U.S., almost every newspaper trashed them in the concert reviews because they went onstage 2-3 hours late every night, and most fans got pissed off because they have jobs and families to get up for in the morning and trains and buses to catch, so yea, Axl acts like a jerk and pisses everyone off all the time, that's all we can really count on every tour. Before you say "well everyone knows they go on late every night", no they don't, or else they would have planned for it. Most people don't even know who's in the band, nevermind that when a ticket says show starts at 8 pm it really starts at 11:15pm. If so, they should print the actual start time on the tickets. They don't do this because most people wouldn't but tickets then. I'm not talking about the few hundred of us that are here in the forums and know what's going on, I'm talking about the majority of people in the U.S. who would buy tickets for these shows.

Because you know the majority of the US people. And Im sure you have a copy of every newspaper that trashed them. The stuff I read was pretty positive. Also give me the proof that they have cancelled more shows than any other band in the US in the last 10 years. Proof like this. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/kings-of-leons-cancelled-tour-could-be-very-expensive-20110802

Dude, the proof is endless, and if you don't believe it, your in denial. I really hope things go well for GNR, but I'm not stupid enough to ignore the obvious. You should get your head out of your ass.

So no proof just insult. People usually insult when they are defeated and cant think of anything else to say. I bet it makes you feel like a tough guy...oooh Im shaking. BTW, I feel for you people on the West Coast, Im sure you guys will get something.

LOL!! you are so in denial if you think there is no proof, there is TOO MUCH PROOF. You don't have to look very hard to run into it.

I dont deny they have cancelled, but you said the most in the US in the last 10 yrs. I gave you proof with a link, which proves ur wrong. Im hoping for a good tour with no problems. I am excited to see them and hope u can make it to a show.

I'll make it to a few shows, I already got my tickets and booked hotels, so I'm hoping for the best, but I'm prepared for the worst. That's just the way I am, I'm practical. I really hope they play estranged and some new stuff. I expect a San Diego show and I will attend if they do one, and I will hit up the Northeast shows as long as the tour goes as planned. I was trying to give 2 NY tickets away last time they were in the city because I ran into an emergency and had to miss the show, but I wanted to spread the GNR love and get some people to go for free and enjoy it. Instead I got insulted by many new yorkers who trashed the band and axl. Whatever, they missed out. I'm just saying our perception of the band, as accurate as it is in here, is very different from the perception the general public in the U.S. seems to have. I think that's why they play so many shows abroad where they play large venues and the crowd loves them, and they more or less ignore us here in the states.

  6. Well there is no for sure but remember they have not announced all dates just yet so ya never know

There is even plenty of it in the posts on this forum during the last U.S. tour for starters. Look at any newspaper review from that tour, and ask people on the street what they tink of the current GNR tour. I tried to give 2 tickets away last tour in NY and I got insulted by 6 different groups of people, with comments ranging from "who, guns n roses? they are still around?, no thanks" to "axl sucks, I wouldn't waste my time to see him and whatever bunch of losers he has now"

  10. I've never understood the obsession with being 'Introduced into the Rock N Roll hall of fame' - The world knows GNR was the greatest band on the earth with the multitude of stats to back it up, I honestly don't get this. I guess the important thing is certainly most of the musicians certainly do take it as an honor and a symbol of their success.

Regardless, whilst it will be interesting to see what happens - There's no chance on earth Axl will show for this. Nil, Nada.

It'll all be worth it just to watch the Jarmo's of the world lose their fucking minds. I mean, think about it. The HOF is going to induct Guns N Roses, but only the original band. This means that they're indirectly invalidating the new band. That's going to fucking EAT these people up inside. They're going to have to watch as Slash,Duff,Izzy and Steven go up on stage and take complete credit for the band and it's success/fame. Then they'll have to endure all of them playing AS Guns N Roses together, on stage without Axl.

Man...it's almost too good to be true. Not that I'm pro old band and anti new band or anything. I'm not pro anything. But goddamn do I loath the "Axl is thy lord" nut jobs who masturbate over everything he does. So the HOF is going to be sweet as FUCK.

lol , instrumental gnr should be 'interesting' to watch :rofl-lol:

they might have that turd from Slah's recent album sing a few songs with them. He sounds like a wounded cat though.

True, maybe they can bring scott weisel-and to do brownstone :P , but its going to be pretty embarrassing to watch slash and the others if Axl isn't there.

You know, that's what most people say when they see Axl doing it? Right? I mean it goes both ways. If you think the other four playing old songs is embarrassing because Axl's not there, then it's got to be equally embarrassing if it's the other way around.

I don't think it's embarrassing either way, but just pointing out the hypocrisy in your comments.

I agree, it's just as bad when Axl does it. They should all suck it up and play together for the Hall of Fame ceremony as a celebration of what the band was, with no discussion of what anyone thinks it is or isn't now. It would be a classy move by all. They don't have to kiss and make up, they just have to agree to disagree and just rock out for one night.

  12. Guns N' Roses was not late. 30 minutes is more or less what it takes to get the stage done. On São Paulo I was on the first row and I could see the work the crew had to get things perfect after Sebastian Bach's concert, there are a lot of things to be done. The LCD screens on the stage, (not the screens fot the public, I'm talking about the screens for the band, with the lyrics, etc) took like 10 minutes or so to be working properly. On that concert they took like 40 minutes to get the stage done.

That's how it was on Canada, right? 30-40 minutes between Sebastian and Guns N' Roses, that's what it takes to get the stage perfect for the band.

They were 30 minutes after their allocated start time, not 30 minutes after Queens Of The Stone Age.

    :rofl-lol:

  13. Career Suicide - A novel by Axl Rose.

You have to be kidding me, if anything, this is Career Revival-A novel by Axl Rose of GUNS N FUCKING ROSES, SUCK THIS DICK BITCH.

Too bad that it isn't the music doing the talking.

Think Axl will ever be invited back to play this festival again? Think other festivals will have GnR headline their shows if they have curfews?

Ya - real rock n roll stuff here. Screwing promotors and fans that support the band. Makes perfect sense to me.

You people are praising Axl for his antics and NOT for the music the band put out. That is what is wrong with this picture.

What music has he put out? Im not waiting for an album because I dont believe there will be one anytime soon. This is the stuff that gets the band publicity and fame, this is what I want for guns.

well that's pretty fucking sad if you don't expect any new music. I thought that was the purpose of axl continuing with a new lineup. If that's the case, then why aren't you just waiting for a reunion, because the old band playing their own songs would be much better.

  14. The sit in has made twitter gnr friendly :D

Plus on a bad not i think leeds is cancelled, but thats pretty obvious.

this was a high profile gig which the promoters took a huge risk in booking gun n roses at all, never mind as the headliners, considering the fact that axl pulls this shit every show, it was a dumb ass risk for the promoters, and they got burned. I'm sure all other promoters took notice, which means I would be shocked if they ever get a decent gig again.

  15. Yeah it's cool to not respect curfew and have a sitdown, and yes there are only a few artists who can get away with this. But you know what would be REAL rock n roll? Something that would put real meaning to their sitdown???

IF THEY WOULD GRAB THEIR ACOUSTIC GEAR, WENT TO THE FESTIVAL CAMPING, PLAY THE REMAINDER OF THEIR SET IN ACOUSTIC, AND THUS GIVE THE FANS ACTUAL VALUE FOR THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!

who says they got away with it? It might be the end of them getting any decent gigs, ever.

  16. Dunno if this has been posted cause the server has been playin havoc all night....great pic tho!

well, it makes perfect sense. Axl wanted to cancel the UK gigs, the band and prob management didn't because it would kill their rep with fans, so what happened tonight most likely results in the cancellation of the rest of the upcoming gigs while maintaining popularity with their fans and getting their name in the press as victims instead of jerks. Good move Axl.

  17. holy shit!!! Axl looks and sounds great, and the band, wow! They are amazing! Ashba owns and the band looks like a rock band again rather than a mix of hired guns and freaks. Best of all, they are actually playing a ton of CD songs, congrads to axl and the band. Great job all around! Warm that shit up and bring it over to the U.S.

  18. Axl, thanks for taking the time to clear up so many things for us, I always stuck by you and have the greatest respect and admiration for you for doing what you believe is right. Thanks for keeping GNR alive for us fans and bringing the music to even better places, please keep at it, you are awesome and inspirational, and I know people who lie and manipulate like slash, and it's tough as hell to deal with because they usually end up convincing everyone that you are the bad guy. It's even more inspirational to hear what you've been through, can't wait to see the new band on tour.

p.s. having buckethead back would be awesome if it's possible
