  1. 1 whose in the line up.

2 what songs will be done.

3 will Axl show up at all.

4 will he be on time. LOL

5 what they will look like.

6 will people accept them as GNR

I think the most important question of all will be answered. Is Axl Rose still up to doing live gigs & does he have the heart for a full tour.

If Axl questioned his stamina would he really have planned a tour now. He may be older but the drugs are out of his system and he's in better physical shape then he used to be. Is he mentally up to it is the question? Heart wise I think he's ready for it.

  2. For God sake people Axl is a human being he is not God. He was born the same way we all were. He definitely grew up the same way I did. Just treat him like a human being he's not mean he can be really nice when he's not being overly hounded by fans. a few words would be fine just don't over stay the welcome. remember he eats drinks and goes to the bathroom just like we all do. nobody wanted his autograph when he was singing in Lafayette. and he's still the same person he was there deep down.

Your name makes me kinda horny! rock3

Then I'm glad your in england and I'm in the states.

He definitely grew up the same way I did.

You Were Sexually Abused By Your Father?

Thats a bit of a rude personal question man.

Thanks for the defense but I've learned to live with it some people are just rude I guess I've learned to ignore them.

  3. And then beaten by your stepfather? I'll always remember an interview I read with Axl a looong time ago where he talks about his dad (not sure if biological or step) speeding down the highway with his family in the car while he had his eyes closed and sang Japanese hymns, or something to that effect. I forget what magazine that was in, but if anyone can find the text to in online in an archive somewhere, I'd like to read it again.

I heard about that too it was Stanley his stepfather he always called him Dad since he was the one that raised him. He was doing like a 100 mph down the freeway eyes shut and never came close to hitting anything. He also could speak in foreign languages also but never learned any. Axl never could understand how that could happen. or how a man so religious could treat his kids the way he did. Stuart was treated better then Axl or Amy was though.

  4. the best concert of my life was back in 1992 in long island ny

skid row open for guns and roses ( axl was flown in by helicoptor at midnight)

** no artist can get away with being 4 hours late to a show *** <_<<_< axl did

the name of the tour Use your Illusion

** no album out at the time *** (chinese democracy tour) no band can tour without an album

November rain heard first the frist time and guess who was playing piano

My point is axl does what the fuck axl wants When axl wants and how axl wants we are just merley along for the ride and nobody ios forcing you on the axl bus

get the fuck off if you dont like the road it goes down

    :anger:

    peace out

I remember that tour it was awesome first concert I ever took my daughter too she loved it too she was 12. november rain was beautiful Axl played great. I remember that song the best out of all of them.

  5. they don't need anything to promote people seem to be paying for the unknown. Or maybe we just love and miss GnR so much we wouldn't care if the were promoting a new dance in their underwear. Their GnR so we'll support them anyway. or maybe we want to see if they'll even show up.

  6. For God sake people Axl is a human being he is not God. He was born the same way we all were. He definitely grew up the same way I did. 7. Axl doesnt get credit for his well written songs because of the way people perceive him. They think he was/is such a nortorious rocker and drugs n alcohol are the only things he lives for. :fuckyou: Not too many critics have the patience to review n carefully listen to all songs he wrote but i bet if they did they would be fuckin amazed. :o

Axl's lyrics are such a hit because they are real and mostly related to his life. rock2

don't pass axl off as some innocent little boy that never did anything bad. true drugs weren't his life, but he did do a lot of drugs. fuck, when they first moved to L.A they had a house especially dedicated to doing drugs and having sex (from wht i understand). but with all that said, axl was a very good song writer as well as a good singer.

Axl was hardly innocent even before he got to LA. there was alot of drug use and many songs were written under their influence. Hell half the lyrics were written on pizza boxes. He never denied drug use just most the others used more than him. But you can't deny drugs or no drugs the boy can write.

  8. When I first heard A7X the first thing that came to my mind about them was a mixture of GNR and Metallica. That thought still stands today. They are heavier than GNR with a slightly darker theme with a large dose of Metallica thrown in. Some people might genuinely not like them and I can respect that but I think they are damn good. If you're hating on them just because you're scared that they are new and make you question your 'loyalties' to GNR then I truly do feel sorry for you because it must seriously suck to be so damn close minded. I saw A7X last October and I am planning to see them again the following week at the Hammerstein after the GNR shows.

I agree with you 100 percent I love a7xs music also and It hasn't taken away any of my love for GnR. theres always room in my heart for other bands new or old.

  9. I still can't believe how, in a time that people should be happy that their favorite band is going to play concerts for the first time in 4 years, that people are being so mean. Just chill and roll with it. Smoking Arthur, thanks for offering up these tix to us here. It's nothing to get into a fight over.

You are correct. However I do feel my anger is somewhat warranted. But I do agree with you. I am not making a good impression with my threats and vulgarity. I will not comment on this again. I must use more self-control. I have had numerous problems in my life due to my aggressions. I think it is something in the blood. But nevertheless, when I read some of my posts, I get embarressed. My parents brought me up much better than some of my post would indicate. The fact is we are all here because of GNR...

awww finally a peace offering thank you you parents would be proud of you now. there is hope for world peace after all. So lets all get back to supporting GNR and less of the fighting.

  10. wow. so important..ok what you do is shove that guitar up your arse.

    report back on your progress

why you are so that rude man? is that a bad thing that i can't play the solo and want to know how to play? you lamer...

Not to bring you down or anything, but I think that if you can't play the whole intro, then you're gonna have loads of trouble with the rest of the song. Especially the solo at the end, it's very fast and difficult to play. Well anyway, good luck!

yeah i'm concentrating on the intro now, when i finished it i will move to the solos...

sorry for creating a new thread at wrong section...

hey don't listen to their shit. just keep trying and pratice pratice pratice. you'll be ok. don't give up maybe someday it will be you up on the stage.

  11. i found the quote

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

We can't explain this enough so I will answer it one more time.

I had a minor surgery on my throat a few summers ago. We went on that summer to play and scream all the way through warped tour that year. After warped tour we settled down to write the new record and as a band decided we did not want that to be a part of our sound anymore.

So here are the quick answers:

    Surgery : Yes

Have anything to do with our sound now : Absolutely Not

    Shads

Thanks for checking. That answers alot.

  12. to relate back to the orginal very first post about this---can everyone stop bitching. Even if you hate another baord member or think chinese democracy is gonna suck--eveyr member of this message baord is gonna buy chinese democracy when it comes out, bottom line. Everyone is a fan of guns n' roses here or else they wouldnt be a member of the message board. Soak up the sun for chirst sake. This is the best its ever been for a while and just fucking enjoy being a fan.

I'll buy it . Old Guns New Guns WHO CARES just so there is some kind of guns

  13. whats up with axl's skin nowadays why is it so red does he have high blood pressure it used to be so white

    133741606_bebb263c25.jpg

dude, he has been photoshopped. you can see his skin is saturate-enhanced.

and for his skin, some ppl dont get "tanned" or "brown" under the sun. Its normal...

All the brits are like that...

And to the others, Axl was always kinda hunch.

I can't tan or brown either. my skin tends to appear red too. Maybe it has something to do with us both being from Layfayette. maybe the Wabash River was dumping strange chemicals in our water supply that would give us red faces in our 40's. LOL I forgot Izzy's from there to is he all red now too. LOL

  14. I think axl has lost his...his...I don't how how do you say...you know...I think he lost it! :(

Agree. Still like him though, but he's not the hottie he used to be.

do you expect him to still stay the same as he was 15-20 years ago.

I would like to see you in 15 years have the same impact that Axl has on people.

Because beleive me Axl still has it.

Did I say I expected him to stay the same?? No. I said he's not the hottie he used to be. Have you seen pics of Axl back in the day? Do you honestly think he still looks that hot? Of course he doesnt - you said it yourself.

You think he still has it, that's your opinion. I dont think he does. He may have something, but he doesnt have "it" if "it" is defined as what he had back then.

of course I have seen pics of him back in the day and I think he still has it and alot of others do aswell.

And I never said he doesn't look as hot as back in the day.

Axl has aged well he still has it just in a more mature look.

    It's just HAIR!

Who gives a shit anyway... It's not about how things look, but how things SOUND rock1

Exactly what I keep saying. finally someone that believes more in the music and less on the looks.

  15. I just heard he had to cut his hair becouse in a school he went to, named Halifax in Canada wasn't allowed to have long hair, is that true?

Not quite, the story is it was forbidden in his Pentecostal upbringing or something?

true his stepfather was a religious nut and it was considered a sin Stanley considered every thing sinful. Axl went to school in Layfayette Indiana not Canada. at Jefferson High School.

  16. HartJH...

You really did a good job of saying some really stupid shit man. You claim that fans have control over the band and the music is retarded. GNR is not some publically traded company that is effected by the supply/demand ratio. Axl has total control, and that's that. He doesn't owe people shit, nor does he care what people WANT to see up on stage. He is doing this for him, and if the fans like it, well good, if not, it doesn't matter. Axl made his money already, he can sit back and collect checks from now until the end of time. As a fan, you can't force his hand to get Chinese D any sooner, and you sure as hell can't make Slash appear back on stage.

Also, I think most people realize by now that GNR isn't the same band as they were in 1991. The VMA appearance in 2001 reached the mainstream, and if anyone was a Guns N Roses fan back in the day, don't you think they would say, "Hey, what's going on with GNR" to which a simple internet search would reveal to them the new lineup?

The album will drop in the Summer/Fall...Axl has always toured first then released the album a la the Illusion tour/album release. Again, when you know your product is awesome, and your band will kick ass live, why would Axl worry? Have you seen the shit music/acts out there? Once Axl takes the stage in NYC on May 12, all of you bitches will know that this time, it's going to happen for good.

Ah, where to begin...I appreciate you making this so easy.

If CD is released and doesn't sell, GnR is done, and Axl is a failure. They may continue to make music (likely not because Axl doesn't handle failure very well), but it's over. $13MM invested already and this one flops? We have complete control. Axl can make all the music he wants, but nobody will sign a failed act with his history of antics. If you think money doesn't dictate everything, you are fooling yourself. It's sad, but it's true.

One performance on TV and everyone knows who's in GnR? Funny. Exacly how many of those guys are ABSOLUTELY still in the current lineup? Who is the lead guitarist (and you better pray the answer isn't Finck)? The short US tour in 2002 cleared it up for everyone? The tour that couldn't sell out most of the dates? The one that was supposed to be followed by CD's triumphant release? Yep, that was very mainstream...everybody knew about that.

Here's the funniest part: Axl DOESN'T know his product is awesome or we'd have had it years ago. He DOESN'T know his band will kick ass live. Who wants to hear a 44 year old out of shape formerly great frontman that can't sing live recreate the late 90's in 2006? How good did their last tour go when they had a technically great lead guitar player? How long did that last? Who will step up to take the musical lead? What the hell would make you think that this lineup is it forever when it's changed several times since 1996? Take off the blinders.

Even I can admit that even a reunion likely wouldn't last...there is no chance in hell that Axl's version of GnR is here for the long term.

On Edit: I highlighted my favorite line.

Why do you try to explain yourself? You have already labeled the new band as a failure, yet you continue to prove that they will fail once they tour again? Unless you are a huge depressive, failure is NOT final. Sure the 2002 tour and the VMAs did not produce the best comeback in history. However, those were 4 years ago, and Axl is still willing to try another tour to prove that his new tunes can still bring about something good.

Imagine yourself as a musician in Axl Rose's position for a change, instead of a corporate standpoint. Sure, Geffen has dumped buckets of money onto this project, but Axl isn't worried about the money. He hasn't released this after several years of work, and you think that a monetary failure would hurt Axl? Dream on. He's a figure who wishes to make an album for himself and prove he still has the musical direction that he previewed for us on the Illusion albums.

Obviously no one knows who is in this band, except for Axl Rose, so then you contribute to the reunion threads, and this is supposed to clear the confusion? Right. The band hasn't even started their tour yet to show who is actually in the band, so why are you whining about that? Let them go on tour and show who is in the band first. Otherwise, you're just babbling on like everyone else who has no shitting clue who is in the band.

Even if the album sells well and GN'R become another household name of popularity, you would still not give this a rest. Axl could play a guitar lead with his asshair and people like you would still not be impressed because apparently he is preventing the reunion. If you can't accept the fact that this band has the name Guns N' Roses, you need to post in the Early Days forum and hope that a reunion will someday happen. Otherwise, your arguments aren't going to convince anyone who wish to see this new band.

Finally I agree with Kaneda for once. Some people just can't be happy on this board, and it shows bigtime. Reunion threads are up 600% ever since the tour has been announced and people are almost bursting their balls hoping that a reunion is going to magically happen on the 12th of May. People are going to be very disappointed and ruin what chance they have of seeing Guns N' Roses, because they'll be crying in the corner saying, "Oh how I wish Slash was here." Take some appreciation in the fact that you are finally getting what you want, which is Axl Rose coming back to try once more and show that he can still bring a fresh new look at music. If you can't do that, then don't argue about Axl failing, because it really isn't your concern, and something that really can't be proven.

Axl knows that 2002 wasn't the best thing, so why do you think he only made this tour a strictly European short tour starting with 4 shows in the US? He's trying to recover slowly, but surely, and he will once he releases the album and then launches a world tour. I don't think Axl is concerned at this point whether you think he is going to fail or not. This is all for him, and we're along for the ride, but I guess you're not tall enough to go on the ride just yet, because you just can't accept anything this man does, unless it is attached to an early '90s scene.

I only read about 1/2 of this. You make interesting points, however you label me without having a clue where I stand. Once again, I am waiting for CD to be released to judge Axl. Until then, he's in a Guns n Roses tribute band trying out some new material and making some money.

I don't think Axl cares about financial failure - I've never said such a thing. He is worried about musical failure, about the public's reaction to what he considers his masterpiece. He has a fragile ego. He's the one who's not sure he's ready to take the leap, not me. I won't make my decision until CD is released.

If CD is great, I will say Axl is back...but I will never say GnR is back as long as the band isn't back and it's Axl and his hired musicians. I have the right to feel that way...I've earned it. I will go see Axl if/when he tours the US, but I won't be seeing GnR. I can live with that.

If you think the backup band is GnR, you're entitled to your opinion, whether I agree with you or not. I'm not trying to force my opinion on you, you should not be forcing your opinion on me. Enjoy your cover band...I've seen a couple myself and they were pretty good, but no replacement for the Axl, Izzy, Slash, Duff, and whatever drummer was sober.

I have to agree with you on Axl not caring about a finacial failure. as a kid even all he wanted was to be loved and liked by people. his music is such a hugh part of what he is he would naturaly want people to like it and that would hurt him more then it would finacially.

  17. I don't think anyone can judge until they here the completed work you can't judge an album by who's on it but by how well they mesh with each other. Axl said once that it was taking so long because he wanted to get the very best out of each member and that takes many takes on each part. so if thats true each person is doing their best we just need to see how they work as a team effort. hopefully it will work if not at least they tried their best.

This may be the sweetest response I've seen to a thread.

I'm just naturally a sweet person

Are you sure you're in the right place???

  18. Fuckin love Avenged

Edit: to the guy above me, yeah he blew out his vocal chords during a show I think. he was in the middle of a huge scream, and they just burst. blood started coming out of his mouth, it was pretty graphic. but he did some really crazy vocal training and fixed his voice, or at least his control over it, though it does have a kinda different timbre now

edit to the guy above me I'm a female first off. I think he had some kind of throat surgery done too. He does sound a bit different have to agree there. He can still scream just not as much as previous. I still love them though. They are very good with there fans to.

I agree city of evil is vocally much clearer and better quality. Matt had some damage done to his throat from the earlier albums so he doesn't do as much of the scream style he does in the earlier days.

the damage he did to his throat had no bearing on the sound of city of evil. the band just decided they didn't want constant screaming to be part of their music anymore, i'll find the quote from him at some point relating to this.

You could try checking for it on the Avenged Sevenfold questions and answers it's part of their web site> I talk to Matt and Brian alot through it . I try to check on it later today.

I never said that his throat was the whole reason but it did have some to do with it. It was to much on it to do whole concerts in that style.

  19. duff and scott were on nashville star on cmt as guest hosts tonight.

I also heard this they were guest judges or something. I also heard Duff tell mtv that they were going back into the studio to finish up there new alum they had been waiting on a producer (I forgot his name) to free up some time for them.

Talked to her at work today, her names Kendra, his ex sister-in-law. She still talks to him and VR a lot. I asked her about VR breakin up and Slash goin to GNR, but she said that VR is taking a break, cause they do that a lot. She said that it would rock if Slash went back to GNR, because VR doesn't do much anymore, but it isn't true. They are planning a tour atm, and she still promised me back stage passes so that pretty much rocks. But yeah, so don't hope for a summer re-union tour.

i talked to Axls psycologists dogs veteranarians great uncle Toms sister Tracys nephew Brendans best friend Tommys babysitters mother Barbaras father Joes bowling buddy Jimmys mistress Stacii Coxxs physical therapists wife Natasha, she said Axl kicked Matt Sorums ass out of GNR for a reason, hes a dipshit.

OMG, she told me that too!

I could be Axl and Izzy's friend of a friend of a friend I'm sure we have SOMEONE in common Lafayette wasn't that big of a town. LOL.

  20. I think a7x is awesome better then most the junk the kids are listening to now days. Zacky and Brian make an awesome guitar duo. as a band they know how to rock old style not synthetic generated like a lot of bands today.
