Sorry to be a pain but that is correct, he is saying no-one will EVER dicate which is right.
That's what he wanted to say, but it's not what he wrote.

I love Axl's rants! It's fucking epic goodness.
"...you nor anyone will ever dictate my actions..."Some people still don't seem to understand this. lulz
Unfortunately Axl's meaning is often lost in his incoherent writing style. I'm pretty sure "You will ever dictate my actions" is the opposite of what he wanted to say. That's what happens when you drop out of high school.

I wish Axl cared less about public apologies and more about making the best music possible.
-
The only person Axl should feel sorry for is himself. I think everyone had a blast without him and he missed out on what would have been a really great and positive experience. Not even Axl Rose gets an opportunity to celebrate like that very often. Life is short. Holding grudges and watching the HOF induction on youtube instead of participating himself just makes Axl seem kind of sad.

It's a stupid question. Of course he can't sing as well as Axl. He was only there because Axl wouldn't show up. The only person responsible for him being there is Axl.
-
Everyone I know won't listen to it either because they hate GN'R or because there is no Slash.
Those are both good reasons to not listen to it.

Love Axl, but how would he tackle the outro? nigh on impossible for a man his age.
Yesterdays would be a better choice imo.
Yeah there's zero chance of Axl ever singing Coma again. He'd probably puke half way through, and the outro would give him a heart attack if he even made it that far. Yesterdays would be good. I could see them playing that.

This will always be the definitive recording of the song for me.

If Axl doesn't know this is going on then his management is incompetent and owes Axl and the fans an apology, and a promise that fascist dress codes will not be enforced at any GNR show ever again.
-
No, it isn't. The problem is that many of us here have skewed perspectives. We do not make up the majority of those in attendance. We make up the minority. The majority wants to hear the classic songs, period.
The majority wants to hear the classic songs played by the classic band, period.

Axl definitely wasn't the victim in all this. The label wasted millions of dollars so Axl could jerk off for 10 years, all to produce a mediocre album which Axl had no interest in promoting. The label got raped hard in that deal, while Axl got millions of dollars to produce an hour's worth of music. Good for him.

This thread is bogus.

About 24 hrs ago I was browsing this forum and a post was up saying new 2012 gnr song featuring Izzy. There were 5 replies and a posted song. I got pretty excited but the Internet is shit in the hotel I am in at the moment and my kids were going berserk so I went and put them to bed. I returned about 20 mins later all excoted to see what was going on and the post was gone/ deleted. Did anyone else see this?
The original poster ended with the statement 'Let the games begin'
Just curious.

I could be wrong but I bet almost 100% sure that the Axl/Slash meeting won´t happen, so this is a no win situation and no matter what Axl does he´s going to be bashed because people are never happy.
No one would bash Axl for showing up. It would be a win for everyone if he showed, but I doubt he will because he doesn't make a lot of winning decisions any more.
A "Solomonic" solution could be that Axl showed up with for exemple Izzy or Duff representing the old line up and BBF or DJ representing the current band, this way, any of the incarnations gets disrespected.BBF and DJ had nothing to do with GNR getting into the hall of fame. I'm sure they realize that and would find it embarrassing to perform that night as if they were the ones being honored.

OP looks like a pledge that North Korean schoolchildren are forced to make to the Great Leader.

I've said it before on other forums so I might as well say it here...
Well you should stop saying it because it's an utterly retarded argument. You don't need to be a professional rock musician to know when something doesn't sound right.
-
Pressure from outside forces like record labels and managers is the only way to make Axl do anything at all. Chinese Democracy would never have been released if there had been no one breathing down Axl's neck. Beta becoming the manager is one of the worst things that has ever happened to this band if you want to hear new music.
-
I think Axl not wanting Izzy in the band has more to do with Izzy not wanting to be in the band himself. As for Steven, he's just not someone that can be depended on for touring. Still, they could (and should) pull off a one-night-only reunion for the HOF.
-
Also, bad:
A professional manager was fired.
Beta and family know more about running Guns N' Roses than I do, but... mixing business with family is "one of those things you don't do" the old saying is - can they leverage the label? LiveNation?
Label stuff still isn't sorted out (like I've been posting for months, THIS is what keeps us from new music).
Beta finally taking over the band is terrible news. She's spent many years ingratiating herself to Axl to get to this point. The band's horrible relations with pretty much every promoter, record label, and manager in the business over the past 10+ years suggest that she and Axl are incapable of efficiently operating anything larger than their own family.

They're such good people, why they get publically ridiculed so often is beyond my comprehension.
Take a look at some of their beliefs and I'm sure you'll understand.
-
Why don't you do as all a favor and hang out in the former members section?
Axl should take the same advice.
-
I think the late starts are pretty stupid on Axl's part but it's pointless to complain about it. Just don't go to the show. If they end up playing half-empty arenas in the US then maybe they'll figure it out. It's just dumb to buy a ticket and then complain about the late start afterwards when you knew exactly what the deal was all along.

I have to say it's refreshing to hear honest feedback about this band from all the long-time fans in this thread. I was reading the HTGTH forums while watching the stream last night because this site wasn't working. It was pretty sickening watching half the posts get censored/deleted because they had a less than favorable opinion of the performance.
What this show made me realize is that not even a reunion with the original members could save GNR at this point. Being the frontman for a band like GNR takes real passion, work ethic, vision, and athleticism. There were some hints of that ten years ago when Axl debuted his first incarnation of new GNR with a fresh setlist and promises that there would be lots of exciting new music on the horizon. Ten years later it's obvious that somewhere along the way Axl lost his fire. Instead of pushing forward, GNR became stagnant; a decade-long plateau of inconsistent vocals, stale setlists, and band members that come and go because they say the wrong thing to Axl or just get bored with the whole situation. GNR's band members have always had tremendous musicianship, and it's clear that for the past ten years it has been mostly wasted. The sudden and unexplained disappearances of Buckethead, Finck, and others over the years are in retrospect not the least bit mysterious or surprising. They knew what most of us know now; that GNR is going nowhere.
The disappointing thing is that every time a new tour starts it's as though the band is starting over from scratch all over again. Axl shows up unrehearsed, often in poor physical shape, and with vocals that have clearly regressed from where they were at on the previous tour. We see no signs of any creativity from Axl or the band outside of a couple decent solos that only serve to remind us of the talent that is wasted rehashing the same material year after year after year. At this point Axl would have to work his ass off to have a successful tour in the US. He'd have to rehearse diligently on his off days, improve his conditioning and vocals dramatically (and quickly), and get out of his comfort zone by rotating a lot more songs in and out of the set (Estranged was the only highlight of last night's gig). Realistically, I don't think much of that will happen, since Axl seems content to leave things alone as long as he can look over and see Beta dancing happily on side of the stage every night.
