  1. Wow, this is really hard to believe; it really feels like forever seeing and hearing the guys and now we got this awesome concert and some great footage. Thanks for they guys who took it and posted it.

Great setlist, great band, great chemistry, Axl`s voice was superb. Well he gained some weight alright and he got older as well, but he is still the one. Beating up that guy at the airport LOL

Thanks Guns for being back, hope to see you in Europe soon and good luck for th rest of the tour.

  2. Dear Axl,

Thanks so much for offering your point of view. This means more to the fans than you could imagine. We do not know the whole story and propably never will, but it is truly amazing and very generous of yours to share your point of view. If possible, your time chatting with us and answering our questions, made me even more of a hardcore fan! I was surprised and amazed by the quality of CD, but this takes things to another level. I hope to see GnR tour soon and wish you the best of luck reclaiming the top of rock music again.

  3. Hi Axl/Dexter (never thought I`d say that one day...)

Thanks for bringing rock back and for propably the best album of the year.

Do you plan on a releasing a documentary or book about recording CD and the development of Guns? I am sure loads of people would like to know more...even when 60% of the content consists of endless legal and contractual struggles ;)

Any chance you come to Brazil some day? Guns is huge there, have never seen a place where rock music is that appreciated. Most likely it is hard though finding a good promoter/tour organizer for south america...

  4. If we make fun of these updates, we less likely to get more. We should want Axl and the band to get more comfortable giving updates.

*g* m8b there is some truth in it. :rofl-lol: The reason for these frequent updates that we get from Del James and employees can be however that he is the tour manager and hence can only give out info concerning the tour....You gotta appreciate lyrical masterpieces like: "Aussie fans showed their vocal appreciation of the massive production with deafening cheers...." I wonder how many hours they spent getting this thing together:)

Anyways, some new official content on the webpage is better than nothing at all....not very much though...

  5. I love both, Maiden and GnR.

However I gotta say that these days Maiden is bigger than GnR, at least here in Europe. The last Maiden tour sold out within days. And another big advantage: they bring out albums! Actually the last two were quite good.

Bruce and Axl just have complete different ways of singing. While Axl is usually more the typical arrogant Rockstar, Bruce is way more down to earth and also audience participation at a Maiden concert is much bigger than in a GnR concert....

  6. I don`t really get it. Nearly everything in this article is already known, and I guess some things are exaggerated so it would make Axl look worse then he is.

Some things also seem to be mixed up in timeline! As far as I remember I already read a story that Axl was abused by his father in 1992...this article suggested it was way later, after he started consulting this Sharan Maynard ("Yoda"). This article also makes it seem like he would still consult her for everything.

    Anyone knows anything about that?

Some Info on her and her husband here:

    http://www.arcoscielos.com/about

What about Beta? He did not even mention her once!?

  7. He got fired because Axl needed a scapegoat again for delaying the album once more. Maybe as far as the record company is concerned Axl was unhappy on how he dealt with it. As far as I know he sucked big time in communicating to the fans, organizing simple things like a webpage and so on.... There also seemed a major lack of communication between the Guns camp and the record company. Also some avoidable legal troubles, perhaps regarding the cover artwork and so on are his fault....

His contributions are definetely in having organized a great European tour and an American tour. If he truly believed that CD was coming out this year and if he did lie to tour promoters we do not know. If GnR had agreed to put out the album at the end of the year and he was setting up the tour to gain money for the final touches then that was pretty legitimate. So in the end if things mainly failed because of the "muse" not showing up, I don`t really think Merck is the one to blame.

  8. First of all thanks for respecting the freedom of speech here ( I have been a member on htgth much longer then here, never had any trouble, but this bullshit about not being allowed to discuss Merck really does it)

and give Merck the opportunity to speak. I am sure that his letter gave us a lot of insight. And since it does not really stand against anything Axl wrote himself I am also pretty sure that he spoke the truth.

There were times when I was really pissed off because of the whole lack of communication but Mercks letter today shows that this guy is real. Appreciate that, hard to tell if anyone else could have brought "new" GnR so far. Also interesting that they had to tour and create income to keep GnR alive. If this was really so, then Merck did a good job; I guess it was his job to oversee the financial aspects, while Axl only focuses on perfectionizing the album. Hard to know if anyone else could have managed to release the album in time....

  9. Well having an Asia Tour in Spring makes sense; maybe they do some south american shows before and in summer they come back to Europe.

The bad thing about this is though, that they can easily tour South America and Asia without an album, since people would go anyways I guess. As far as Europe is concerned, if it is not another festival tour they might need to release the album sometime in summer then....

  10. I think it is great that they do have so many openers, with the first one usually being a local band. You get about 5 hours of entertainment for the price of 2...And if you don`t like the openers go have a beer....

It is a like a little festival!

  11. Whatever......I am pretty sure that we will get a poorly written press release that due to the enormous sucess of the Guns tour where they played for hundreds of thousands enthusiastic fans, they decided to add a couple of more dates in the midwest.

If CD is not out by dec. 19th we will have to wait for another year and as usual I am sure that we will get as usual no info, no explanation, no nothing from the gunners camp as far as this is concerned. They will just ignore the fact that they wanted to release an album this year.

  12. I think the stream quality is directly related to YOUR internet connection/provider.

From the rockpalast/wdr side it is amazingly good. At work I got a slide show as well but now, sitting in an internet cafe at the very end of the world I get an amazing feed...both sound and video
