  1. The wind is howling,

on a dark night so cold

chillingly the wind's harsh tone is echoing

and it's cries can touch the very pit of a man's soul

The silent shadows of the darkness reach out to choke and grab

but lo and behold a quick turn and fearing the worst!.....

    but there was nothing there

So I laid back down, upon my bed

    so soft and silky

Gazing through my window sill at the stars

    so shining bright and milky

When came the wind howling once again

ere before the first screech of air

did ever there rise such many a hair

    upon mine mortal head

and the quick, dankon and dreary shadows

played their sickening shapes, to my fragile mortal dread

And upon many a cold, dark and windy night such as this

arise many a damned, foul and wicked creature from the deepest hells of the abyss

    to slaughter, pillage and scare

to rip, burn, rape and tear

but oh, only in a mortal man's worst nightmares

do the sick shadows and worst dreams come to be

and oh, only in the deepest threads of sleep

do knives shearing their way up your spine

and through your soul, ever do they slowly creep

Lo, and see in the shadows of the night

playing upon your wall, the lost souls of the wicked, evil, rotting damned.

  2. With everything that's been goin' on in the crazy world of Guns, I'd just thought I'd make a thread to speculate on GNR maybe appearing at this year's Ozzfest. After all, Ozzy still has one mysterious performer on the festival that he's going to announce at the end of May....

  3. The fact that ticketmaster don't have this on their site when it supposedly starts in a few hours hardly bodes well for those being so hopeful.

I kinda think it takes some meaning away anyway, I mean, how many shows are they going to announce for before the European tour where over 100,000 people have bought RIR tickets thinking it will be the big comeback. I guess thats the problem with assumptions and GnR never officially announcing anything themselves

Nothing personal to you, but I'm just using your post as an example, but it seems that no matter what G'N'R do, they're always doing something wrong in someone's eyes.

  4. I have just confirmed via an email from Clear Channel that GNR will be playing at the Hammerstein Ballroom May 12&14th. There is to be a presale for these gigs starting tomorrow at 9 AM.

    Mods pm me for details.

  5. When the fuck did they change the password and how come some of us didn't get the new email? THat's absolute bullshit and an utter disappointment. Why can't anything ever go smoothly in the GNR world? I am fucking pissed. I will still buy tickets on Ebay, but man, this was supposed to be helpful to the fans, and obviously many of us fans got fucked because we never got a second email...

:rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol: There is justice in the world afterall.

    Hahahahahahhahhaah :rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

  6. Oh ok good, thanks Pilferk.

We should all wear something signifying us as members of a forum whether it's here, or HTGTH or anywhere else....

Maybe like a homemad sticker with our usernames or something on it...

    And btw,

    Congratulations JennaSide

Glad to see you make it!

  7. Just randomly wondering, is there any word yet on who the opening band for the Hammerstein gigs will be? My thinking is that Avenged Sevenfold will be the opener--they're opening for quite a few shows in Europe and they have a gig of their own planned at the Hammerstein for the 22 I believe with another band Coheed and Cambria, so they would be the most logical and practical choice.

  8. well, the ebay tix are brokers who know they'll get them somehow. thats how it works. plus, i'm sure a lot of people are trying to get tix solely to sell them. i hope no one here did that, screws the fans.

on a side note: GOT TWO TIX FOR THE 17th!!!! 2nd floor mezz

    See ya there

    :xmasssanta:

  9. I went to the Ticketmaster site, just to check things out and see if anything had changed and this is what I saw:

Look For Guns N' Roses Tickets

    Additional Information:

''There will be a 24 hour ticketFast delay for this event ''

I haven't had much experience with Ticketmaster, so I have no idea what this means...

    But it doesn't sound good....

  10. emo kids suck.

i mean does anyone really want these kids to be the main GNR fanbase?

    i know i dont.

anyway its not a likely scenereo.

its not like they havent already heard of guns.

they all hate them anyway because they put effort into the music and because axls "homophobic"

its nothing to worry about they wont be getting into guns

    They already do.

A lot of the new metal/hard rock fans of my age group (15-17) don't really like the good stuff

like Led Zeppelin or the Stones and are really into newer groups such as Avenged Sevenfold

and My Chemical Romance. But yet, even with liking those bands, the only ''vintage'' bands that kids my age are into is Guns and Metallica. Out of all the older groups, those are the two that have retained relevance and respect with kids my age. A lot of "emo" kids I know love GNR and Metallica for their own emotional lyrics and their badass attitude.

and like someone else said, if you want CD to sell and Guns to be popular, its the kids of my age group, who are the largest group of album buyers these days, that will make or break CD.

  11. Ya know...

For the first time in nearly 4 years we will get to see Axl and the band live. This year is really looking to be a great time to be a Guns N Roses or Axl fan (depending on your particular view point.) It seems more hopeful than ever. And still, I see people arguing over inane bullshit.

    ...To put it simply--

This is our moment, people. We have waited. We have earned it.

It is here--let's just enjoy it peacefully for the betterment of everyone.

This is a time for happiness and unity--G'N'F'R are touring again and it is looking more and more likely that we will see CD soon. We are closer than ever.

It's also looking like if all goes well we might (hopefully) be in for a long, fucking awesome tour and we might be seeing the return of Guns N Roses to the masses.

The point being: This is going to be a great summer and a great year.

Enjoy it, and just try to come together as one under what we are supposed to be:

    Fans of Guns N Roses

cause in the end that's what we are here for on this and other forums

  12. If, as Lewis Mumford wrote, cities were created as "a means of bringing heaven down to earth" and "a symbol of the possible," New York is the epitome of those dreams. No other city's skyline thrusts so aggressively toward the heavens, pulling down the clouds like a monarch shrugging into a cloak. No other city's history so embodies the idea of innovation and achievement in such a dazzling range of human endeavors. "There is no place like it, no place with an atom of its glory, pride and exultancy," novelist Thomas Wolfe rhapsodized in 1935. "It lays its hand upon a man's bowels; he grows drunk with ecstasy; he grows young and full of glory, he feels that he can never die." -- Time, 1990 (and that was about the decline of NY before Guliani cleaned the shit up)

No point knocking NYC... it is a waste of your time.

    What he said ^^

    I love the city

  13. Here is what they did in 91 in NYC..

05.16.91 - The Ritz, New York, NY

    opening act: Raging Slab

set: Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession, Right Next Door To Hell, Mr. Brownstone, Dust N' Bones, Live And Let Die, Paradise City, Civil War, Drum Solo, Guitar Solo, You Could Be Mine, I Was Only Joking [intro] / Patience, Only Women Bleed [intro] / Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Don't Cry [w/ Shannon Hoon], You Ain't The First [w/ Shannon Hoon], My Michelle, Estranged, Double Talkin' Jive, Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome To The Jungle

    audio/video recording?: audio, video [incomplete]

notes: The third and last secret warm-up gig for the UYI tour. Special guest performance by Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon. Axl mentions how the chorus to 'Right Next Door To Hell' was written about his next door neighbor. Slash says they are filming the video for 'You Could Be Mine' for the new Terminator 2 movie. After 'You Could Be Mine,' Axl asks the crowd, "Have you ever heard the expression break a leg? Well, I think I just did." Axl actually injures his heel and is forced to wear a brace on it for the first few weeks of the UYI tour. Before 'Don't Cry,' Axl says how Shannon's band was covering the song a few years back. 'Welcome To The Jungle' is dedicated to the 3rd Street Hell's Angels.

I wonder if there'll be a video filmed at these NYC gigs??

  14. This is beginning to remind me of the beginning of the UYI Tour.

Not trying to spark what could be false hope, but if all goes well, we might be in for a long, fucking awesome tour. It's 1991 all over again! rock1

  15. :( Im starting to get this awfull fealing that the GNR tour is cancled again :(

Look people, there is nothing from the GNR camp...... silence.

Is Axl pulling the fucking plug again?? <_<

    :scared::scared:

It is odd. Axl hasn't been seen for a while now, no word from the Gunners. Didn't we lose track of him again right after the spitting-in-the-eye incident in NYC a few weeks ago?

    and it makes me wonder.....
