i had this incredible predudice my whole life for bands like the stones/led zepplin/ac/dc n like just tonsa big fuckin mainstream rock acts cuz, i dunno...kinda bought up with that whole punk rock thing *aerosmith escaped the net* past coupla months i been gettin over this n i bought Highway To Hell n it was FUCKING AMAZING! i thought they were gonna be this really kinda like...glossy bullshit merchants but they REALLY do kick ass, based on liking that, whaddya thinks a good album for me to get next? any ideas? i really dunno shit about em, cousins been tryna get me into Led Zeppelin too, still aint heard a single song of theres that i know of.

depends what u consider talent, i consider Public Image Limited to be the most talented band i've ever encountered that did as much for the progression of popular music as say, the beatles but i wouldn't say, in terms of muscianmanship, they could do all that hotdog buckethead shit.

ok, michael stipe started a band cuz he saw johnny rotten in a public image limited gig, he's admitted this NUMEROUS times, listen to metal box & flowers of romance, therein lies progressive music, not REM, anythin in the mainstream, aside from possibly the beatles, based on what they achieved AT THE TIME, is not progessive or groundbreaking, the fact is, the progression is hidden n the system is what acts to make it commercially palatable, i mean, it took "grunge" *whatever that meant* to make to punk attitude, which started, typically speaking, in the 70s, to be commercially pallatable!!!
