the title of this thread is sorta misleading as some sort of something more important

no single has even been sent out to radio stations yet, so dont hold ur hand over ur ass for march 6th

it was correctly stated , you do need about 8 weeks of promo, fall out boy is doing a 6 week promo sorta thing, national advertisment, local transit banners, video on rotation, radio single, and what happens when the pressing gets a hold of it, a few weeks before the date, leaked.... axl is probally huge on this not happening, that could be a hold up, if you think about it, EVERY big album that has come out lately has leaked weeks / months in advance... it doesnt take much to put together a promo campaign, its probally already to go on the hush, just waiting for the album to be handed to them and it could take off, they COULD essentially have a 4 -5 week run if it happened soon.. although i doubt it

i've got the universal release books coming in, and nothing about gnr, im sure it will be on the front cover so im sure IF this is going to happen, he will get his 4 - 5 weeks of promo time in for the cd, and then release... time shall tell

i dont know what release books you have but the ones i have from universal are only up to feb 6 releases so far its got fall out boy's new album on the cover

we will know for sure about march 6th one way or another in the next couple of weeks if it doesnt show up on inventory orders

yeah i got 2 more new ones yesterday, nothing new in them, they are about up to mid feb with releases...

I don't think there is reason to panic just yet. If there is no album/single announcement by the beginning of February, then we might be in for some problems.

Ok heres an idea...

lets develop a timeline of what the processes are from now until march

First of all, if axl wants this March 6th, (EARLY MARCH) he needs to have this album to retailers by at the LATEST February 28th.

So the PROCESSES that need to be completeted before the album is released.

"FINAL TOUCHES" of Post production... Including, vocal adlibs, tweaks, etc.. (DONE??... )

Record Companys Input (If Any) , ... Tracklist selection, single selection, video preperation for Filiming, setting the actual release date, public statement, prepation for promotion, Album Cover Work

Distrubution of Album and Promoting Time Now, to get an album like this out with perhaps a WORLD release date or a national release date, they need to have the proper time to get this to retailers and if he still wants to keep it on hush, have agreements with retailers not to talk about it or open the boxes. (working in retail previously, there HAS been agreements with our store not to open certain dvd packages or cds before a certain date) SO.. it is possible...

Video Recorded and Single released now he said he was going to do it, so lets think... IT IS POSSIBLE to do a video is DAYS but realistically with post and pre production, and how picky axl is.. it could take weeks to do it, also a single to have on radio SHOULD be at stations the LATEST end of January! I work in the radio industry in promotions, now i work with a sister rock station, so i will know when a single comes for that. PLUS i get universal distrubution information regularly.

So i think he has a TON of work to get done here... You guys SHOULD know if the album is coming out by March 6th if there isnt either an official single by the latest end of Jan. Retailers should even get information soon. The ball should be really rolling right now for him to get that album out.

The Leak on MTV is a new and cool thing, do you think axl would allow it to happen or how MYSPACE does the album preview a day or two before it is released for internet buzz creation? I personally dont think he would do it, but who knows, if it was him who leaked the other songs on purpose, he might have find it useful, discuss?

see i think AFD was really the most contriversial/bad language ... and some of the UYI and lies/speg... are a reflelection of the rebellion sorta thing, i think axl might have grown out of it... but im sure there will be some swearing and topics of controversy, i hope this cd stirs shit up good..

Axl has in previous years said somethings that have offended people, do you think on this album he will use A) bad language B) racial slurs C) controversial subjects ... or do you think this is a new axl on the record? like the style he had in some of UYI, epic ballad songs... ?? discuss?
