Okay, I've tried TMPGENC and I know how to convert the file to MPEG-2, but then what do I do in order to burn it to DVD? what software can do this? I tried Nero but it only burns VOBs.

I like Lit Up and Crazy Bitch. But I can't get into much of their other stuff. I think he would have been pretty good for VR but I think the whole "middle-aged rockers" angle is a bit more suiting for the band...they're all vets...they've been around and had success. Josh would have been a 20-something guy in with guys in their late 30s and 40s.

Stuff doesn't come out for a while...never woulda guessed Slash and Axl were constantly arguing during the UYI tour or that Duff and Slash were refusing to play songs.

Very sad news for Ron. Hope his Dad gets through the surgery OK and makes a full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you Ron.

I don't understand how it's rude to suggest there is more beneath the surface. It's not insensitive - it's realistic. I didn't say his father's heart attack isn't affecting him - nor did I say I'm not feeling bad for the guy - I'm saying a father's heart attack wouldn't cause someone to lash out at fellow bandmembers, especially given his nice personality. I think his father's heart attack is upsetting him (understandably) and causing OTHER FEELINGS to surface - perhaps bad feelings he's having towards the band in general for being "out of the loop." Put yourself in his shoes. He probably feels totally expendable. He's not on the album, he's a "replacement," and as far as he knows he could be fired as soon as this tour ends. The way BBF has been treated doesn't seem like he's a permanent replacement. When Buckethead was announced as the new guitarist it seemed more...hmm..."final." If that makes sense. On top of that, he was hired as lead guitarist but Finck is doing more of the solos than he is right now (add 'em up). That's gotta be a bit grating for the guy - being hired for such a huge band and then finding out the rhythm guitarist is being given more solos? Maybe I'm wrong but I'm just putting it out there.

These could all be issues he has been thinking about and now his family trauma is causing them to surface.

There will be some people who have different opinions. For every die-hard anti-Axl user here there are at least ten more extreme Axlites, so I hardly see why complaining about the very few such as Dead Flower (who is not even anti-Axl - just objective) who post here means much. Besides, users such as Dead Flower are more intelligent than a lot of the people who stand by Axl no matter what. When it had been reported originally that he assaulted a woman in Belgium some of his fans were praising him here for his actions. That's just wrong.

Moral of the story is: if you don't like people's posts, don't read them. But ridding the board entirely of people who hold somewhat negative opinions is just promoting fascism on the Internet.

What a big load of shit. Someone just extracted the original intro and put it through Cool Edit and applied shitty distortion effects. It sounds like a fat constipated person taking a shit.

I think I'm one of the few, but I've actually been really disappointed with the shows so far this year. Granted, I've been watching bootlegs, but some of them are excellent quality so I'm not missing the dynamics of the performances, and I just don't really think the band has a good chemistry right now. I almost miss Buckethead - his wackiness was a nice contrast to everyone else, and I think although he shredded, his solos were more unique than Bumblefoot's. Ron is a nice guy and all but I heard him do the YCBM solo on the Greece video and it was just a lot of noise IMO.

He's not a household name, but most people at least know what he represents. Say "Axl Rose" and people who aren't into music probably think of the whole Appetite era rock scene.

Syd had some ok songs, but he's not even a smudge on Waters' boots, Barrett's solo work proves that. His lead work and guitar playing in general is mediocre and childish at best when compared to the guy that replaced him.

Some people like to idolize the artists who fade out before their time and are misunderstood "geniuses," etc. It's probably - and I'm not saying this to be mean - partly due to the fact that a lot of die-hard music buffs relate to Syd's seclusion and anti-social behavior. I think a lot of people just related to his position in life. And then there are those who feel he had great potential.

Yes, he had potential. But unlike Hendrix who started with potential and only got better and better with each release. Barrett just fizzled out like a faulty firecracker...

I get the feeling a lot of the worship and the adoration for Syd is more to do with the hype, and the legend, than it has to do with the music. And yeah a lot of the anti socials do see themselves in him to a degree.

But to be fair, part of the reason he "fizzled out" is probably due to the fact that he suffered a major breakdown. The man lived with his mother for the rest of his life afterwards. It crippled him mentally, and that probably impeded much of his creativity. I think it was a gradual decline of mental state that he suffered from, beginning in the Pink Floyd days. I read he went on stage once and just stood there and melted wax over his head or something weird like that.
