  1. yah..

    to sweetness..

not all grunge bands are bad...

man I really hate rap, put a 'c' at the beginning of rap and what do you get CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HA! How original! Haven't heard that one before!

    :lol::lol:

but, this does bring me to a quote from one of my biggest idols:

"Rap is crap, crap is Rap, and you can't spell crap without Rap so Rap must be crap." - Layne Thomas Staley.

    However..

    I dont agree with it..

there is some good rap music out there..

Its just the listener has to put down that fear of something new..

That's the quote I was thinking of.

So tell me, in your opinion, who makes good rap music?

  2. I think that rock music is losing it's edge now because of the way that many'rock' bands are marketed for the mainstream audience, they are not raw and real anymore and no-one seems to take any risks to be different

  3. This is a very emotionally charged song, apparently it is about when his mother was dying from something (might be cancer) and that is why he sounds so emotional when he sings it.

The lyrics to this song are amazing, as are some of their other songs, give the album Urban Hymns a try, it is great!

  4. I think that the Beatles were and are very overrated, a few decent songs but mainly wierd rubbish, I can't see the appeal of them at all. I can't stand Paul Mc Cartney or anything to do with him, he is an up himself arrogant tosser

  5. We got seated tickets, knowing how long we had to stand and wait at the Newcatle gig but I have to say that I standing down near the stage is much better! We had a good view of the stage from where we were sat but it's just not the same as being stood where you were, you are a lucky girl!!!

  6. There are three types of fans we have now:

You have the old school, who are not willing to let the new GNR survive out of pure love for the old line up. They would rather see the current set up fail miserably and say things like 'I told you they werent as good...'

Then you have the new breed, who have every right to enjoy Guns N' Roses just like the old school do. I cant believe new fans are getting criticised because 'they never knew the old line up'. I would prefer to encourage new fans, not try to stifle them.

Then you have the hybrid fans (like myself). The fans who enjoy the new music, and dont make comparisons with the old as that time period has gone, never to return. Music evolves, and some bands evolve with it, some dont. This current Guns N' Roses line up have the ability to revive the whole Rock scene. It seems like the Iron Maidens and the Metallica's are not bands who can evolve and have unfortunately have got stuck on the Hard Rock Eighties/early nineties road and cant get off. GNR are trying to bridge that gap, and nobody can comment yet whether 'Chinese Democracy' will make it big time. All that can be discussed, is that the signs are definitely looking good...

very well put, I guess I'm a hybrid fan, big fan of the old stuff but willing to give new songs and members a try. I haven't been dissappointed as yet!

  7. I never really liked Live and Let Die, the original or the cover but the version that they played on tour totally rocked with all the pyrotechnics, it was awesome!!!!!!

also it was a bit surreal to see them singing a Rod Stuart song at Wembley on Saturday

  8. Just wondering what's everyone's favourite gnr cover version

My personal favourite is Sympathy For the Devil, I love it and think it's far superior to the original track rock3

  9. songs don't usually make me cry but one time I was listening to my favourite gnr song rocket queen after a very heavy break up and the last few lines just broke my heart and I couldn't stop :cry::cry:

Also now I can't listen to The Scorpions - Wind of Change and Whitesnake - Here I go Again without having a lump in my throat because they were played in church at my dad's funeral recently

  10. People should give this guy a break, I wasn't there, but I've just watched some footage of what happened at Download 2006 and he has every right to act the way he does, the guy just had a bottle of piss thrown at him! Anyone would do the same if it happened to them, he is a musician not a target for vile morons to throw things at!!!!

  11. yes, there not emo, theyre called screamo, but they do dress emo and theyre just as gay.

At the Newcastle gigs there were hoards of young uns who were mainly only there to see Bullet for My Valentine, I had only heard one of their songs before but was willing to give them a go, screamo is a great way to describe them!! Not really my taste and fair play to those who are into them but I don't think they were right to support GNR
