  1. A quick look at the Chinese Democracy credits shows he is probably one of the most essential members in regards to new music.

As for his live performance, this is all we need to remember. The man is a living legend and the only member of the band who truly rocks.

If anyone has a picture of Pittman rocking the hell out of that towel during Bridge School, please post it. I also suggest watching that performance of "Rockin' in the Free World" should be required viewing for any GN'R fan. You can literally see Chris slink his way to the front of the stage, stand next to Neil Young, and then decide, "fuck it Ill sing." It was more exciting than anything Axl did either night.

Don't forget about the towel incident.

Somehow, playing the towel was the most rock n roll thing about that performance.

Yeah here's the video. He just casually walks in and sings on the chorus. Even if it is Neil Young, it's just a big communal song. It makes him a rock star because he's surrounded by talent that far surpasses him? Big whoop.

Moreover, how the fuck is he a living legend? Has anyone heard of him outside of this forum? I think the casual-GNR fans don't even know him. And what else, he toured with Tool for a year? Meh.

I think you take my posts a touch too seriously. No, I really do not think Chris Pittman is a "huge rock star." But that does not change the fact that I think it was awesome Chris essentially shoved his way to the front of that crowd of musicians and drunkenly sang with Neil Young.

Did you forget that he is also backup bass player.

  2. I read they were rehearsing Axl, Slash, Duff and Sorum, I was going to ask about it if it was legit, but I haven't had a thread not merged in the past year. Pissed the wrong person off, I guess.

Maybe it was legit. I thought it was false because of Sorum, I hadn't see he had joined.

Sorum is in LA. When he was asked about Guns he refused comment.

he looks sad/upset/angry in that video.

It seemed like the TMZ dickhead was only deepening some type of wound.

  3. I am interested in sincere opinions, not the "cause he's an asshole" ones..

He was at the RNRHOF, he's far less of a fuck up that Stephen, he appeared on more albums than Stephen so why get so completely frozen out?

I thought him and Axl were cool?

Surely this creates major shit with Duff & Slash? They are supposed to be friends after all.

I'd like him there along with Izzy to be true to the band's history - obviously King Axl is still calling the shots..

Has anybody heard a reaction from him as of yet?

Because Frank is in. They haven't been in rehearsals with Matt.

  4. Wow, thats horrible for Matt. Cause obviously he's not in, and this guy is BADGERING him. His answer says it all. Why, we don't know, but he's not, so stop asking him. That was painful to watch. He can't talk about it. Move on.

dude, he is smiling like a little boy who can,t talk because he promised it to someone...he is involved. Otherwise he would say: "guys, i'm not in."

Frank is the drummer, but Matt might get a spot once and awhile.

  5. I think he needs to stop moving around. Stand still like Myles Kennedy or Adele

    Adele ?

Yeah, she stands still while she sings and it helps her a lot. Given how out of shape she is, if she ran around on stage a bunch it would have a big impact on her vocals just like it does with Axl.

Yes but Adele sings ballads... I don't' think that it's that easy to stand still and sing rock songs :headbang:

Adele works out too...she actually post pictures of herself in the gym recently

Thank God that Axl doesn't have the need to post pictures of himself (or selfies  ) from the gym like everybody else is doing...

Or he could post pictures of everyone else in the gym... Just saying.

  6. I look up to Fortus because you will not get an overall sense from anyone else of what is going on currently. Richard has been there the longest with the exception of Dizzy and Axl. He is a very creative force which his efforts where supposed to be felt on Chinese Democracy II. Now he has experience with working with GNR members of all the eras. He looks like a Izzy clone, but can play better with a tone that is slightly behind Slash. He has various experience working with artists from many different backgrounds.

As a child I would have said Slash in a heartbeat because his work represents most of childhood memories. However Fortus has weathered the storm for years and has stood on his own as his own person when dealing with fans that are living in the past. You have to respect a guy that has put up with the shit that he had to deal with the GNR fanbase and the hurricane of shit that he has to face being apart of the reunion lineup.

You may not like him. You may not respect him. But you have to admire his unwavering dedication.

I'm being sincere when I say that was beautifully written.

Not my best writing but it was just off hand. However I do thank you for challenging people to write more intellectual responses.
