there's no smoking at ALL arenas. most ignore the rules for the band. it's a federal law. this includes the stage, the dressing rooms and back stage areas. i'm guessing these a-holes were doing the same with "no smoking" as they were with "no bottled beer."

you could still take my script in the first post and just do it with the beer issue.

after 3 songs i would say to the crowd, "i'll be back in 5 minutes, they won't let any of the band memebers smoke on stage."

then after they come back and like, frank wants a sip of beer. I'd say to the crowd, "we'll be right back, frank wants a beer and they won't let us drink bottled beer on stage... which is far better because it's more carbonated than plastic bottles."

then i'd leave for another five minutes.

and i'd keep doing this until the crowd tears the fucking arena to pieces, which is why they chose to cancel instead.

GnR is not holding tickets back to thwart scalpers. In fact, I'm sure they don't mind scalpers selling the tickets. It's money in their pockets and then the scalpers assume the risk for moving the tickets. As I see it, there are two possibilities for the tickets.

1. They wanted to say it was a "Sold Out Show" to build excitement and hopefully ticket sales for the other shows. So they help back the last couple hundred seats. With a few days left, they released them knowing that if they didn't sell, they wouldn't take too much of a hit financially.

2. These seats were reserved by the band. GnR has roots in NY (Fortus, Bumble, Axl as of late) perhaps they thought their friends and families would want seats so they those tickets aside. When they found out that they didn't need them, they were released to the public. This happens with professional athletes all the time.

It will be a packed house on Friday night. I don't see why everyone is so worried about the shows selling out. Fewer people means shorter beer and bathroom lines. I'm sure the band will get by financially.

it was one show in a soft market. if you were a fan, you'd have read the ltest press release and not implied that MANY shows are half full.

no. you said they aren't out to get scalpers. but holding back tickets for a show that will likely sell out is done for no other reason than to DISCOURAGE scalpers. it's alot easier for a busy band's management to sit back and not care.

I'm not talking about the single-seat issue or the tickets that pop up in the ticketmaster computer after failed deals. I'm talkign about the tickets held by guns management that were in decent sections directly accross from each other that were referred to in the official emails that we got.

I'm writing to see if there's been anything stated about a potential cancellation of tonight's show at the DCU Arena in Worcester.

I read the Band's response to the Portland incident and am curious if there's any potential to problems with the show tonight.

I was lucky enough to see Axl a few years ago when he had Buckethead with the band - they put on an unbelievable show at the Fleet Center, and if I recall, the rest of the tour was cancelled after that show.

This year, luckily, there's no "Monday Night Football" so Axl should be relatively "on-time".

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of times right before a concert is about to happen tickets pop up. Messed up credit normally is the cause or ticket brokers not selling off their share of tickets. The show will not have an empty seat in it come the 10th

General Admission is sold out for the MSG show in just a few days time. General admission normally goes quick and is the best place to be (Face it )

How is this still classed as sold out? In the UK sold out means, no more tickets are being sold by official vendors - they've all been sold every single damn seat. (The only occasional exception would be restricted view or dress circle standing).

the definition of sell out is that america has the same scum bag scalpers as other countries do. those balding guys wearing the wife-beater t-shirts with yellow or missing teeth. so guns, because they care about their fans, reserve tickets for shows that are anticipated to sell out to try and fuck up the scalper fuckers.

The site of the Spanish alternative shop (clothes, music, etc.) 'TIPO' have announced Guns N'Roses will be in Spain (in Caceres exactly) again next 7th of April.

Now... if it's true (and I have no reason to think it's not true, since Tipo.es is a serious and 'trustable' site when they announce dates), I guess it means Guns N'Roses will come back to Europe as a part of the Chinese Democracy Tour, so... good news!! .

i would suggest that people, even in america and other European countries, plan a trip to next year's download festival in england. it's gonna be historic. a swinging sheckie (sp?)
