I just deleted a bunch of posts that were masquerading the 2004 press release when Buckethead left the band as being related to this issue. Please don't re-post it - it's misleading and confusing for people.
you SHOULD have deleted the USER. Maybe it would get these children to behave so the real fans can discuss shit.
I also bet the venue is blaming it on the artist. i think the venue owner got nervous when axl wasn't there by a certain time. i don't think axl would wait till people are already AT the show to cancel.

otherwise, certain venue owners/managers won't open the doors unless axl is on the premesis by a certain time. this is to protect the property on the INSIDE of the venue.

The only 'press release' that might redeem them is that Axl was in NYC doing Letterman to announce the CD date (December 17), and a transportation snafu or exhaustion issue meant he was unable to travel on to Maine as scheduled.

The Tiananmen accident has to do with the people (students,intellectuals,...) who started to protest against the Chinese government about there civil rights,the corruption from the Chinese government etc. People in China got pressured and censored every day by the government. Smells like dictatorshit to me. The Waco accident/inferno had something to do with some crazy guru (David Koresh) who started a sect (Branch Davidians). 74 people died.Some blame the guru,some blame the American government for this accident. The title (Chinese democracy) is a metaphor for something that would take ages before it actualy happens. Almost the same as the release of the album.

I'm so pissed off right now, but have confirmed that the Guns show in Portland Maine this evening has been cancelled. I just spoke with the Cumberland County Civic Center and Ticketmaster and they confirmed Axl didn't show because he couldn't bring alcohol on stage so they had to cancel the show. I better be able to get a refund for the four tickets I bought online through GNR's website. What a fool I am for getting screwed by one of his infamous no shows....

it seems like NO ONE reads the official news here. speculation about the new album that can be ruled out by quoted words from axl or merck just runs rampant. and worse it seems like long-time smarter members don't do much for correcting people.
here's one example. LARGE numbers of people here keep wondering about promotion and worrying that there's no time for it. but merck already alluded to things being done differently. outside the usual box of thinking.

this version of guns is filling - maybe not selling out - arenas with NO promotion. why would you think they care about promoting an album that will go platinum instantly?
