  1. It doesn't matter if the individual songs were written before 9/11 and were specifically aimed at more personal meanings for Axl, he could have still put them together within a cohesive meaning as part of the entire album.

Also, whether or not he wanted it to follow this suggested narrative is also irrelevant since once an artists releases his/her material to the world, it becomes personal to each person who wants to interpret it their way.

I personally don't see it at a 9/11 album, but its interesting to look at it this way nonetheless.

  2. Not necessarily better, it's just the way it has evolved. Right or wrong, it's the way it is, and I support it cause it entertains me. Saw the original 5 times, saw the new 4 times, both have good things and bad, but in the end, I accept whatever happens as long as I enjoy the music.

  3. another great interview!!

    keep em coming..

Vicky confirms that it was basically over when IZZY (mr.cool)left.

that's what I always said, even though I enjoyed the Illusions band.

my two favourite songs are off the illusions but AFD is for me the realest, realest Guns.

I grew up with AFD and it holds a special place in my heart.

Duff says in his book that Izzy was the most important creative force in the band.

    Vicky confirms it.

oh boy... you really will hang all your theories and illusions on a bitter ex-manager?

  4. Tom Cruise is the pinacle of lame this will be more embarrassing than the couch incident or the scientology interview.

    the guy is a hack.

I'm not disagreeing with you that the guy is maybe a little nuts ...but for the most part, everything he puts out is good. He doesn't just fake his way through some films like other big names out there...so I don't think 'Hack' is a proper evaluation of his talents.

  5. What's cool is they used Reckless Road do set the look of what it all looked like back then. I also signed a book for Tom. Also there is a Canter's Deli billboard next to the Tower Records in the movie.

cool, I'll keep an eye out for the billboard. Is Tom a big GnR Fan or just pretending for promoting the movie?

  6. Some of you guys defy comprehension to me, what I mean is you created a dream (an illusion if you will) about something in your head.

Then it turns out that dream does not come to reality (as most never do) then you lash out at others. Even if Axl went there would not have been a performance. None of the happenings this week should have surprised anyone at all that frequents this board. Axl has made it known FOR YEARS it would never happen, it's not like he tricked you into thinking he would reunite and then backed out...

The HOF was NEVER put in place for the fans, it is about suits lining thier pockets with $$$, the HOF doesn't dictate to me anyway who I choose to listen to and follow.

I dont want to take away anything from the former members regarding this honour to them, some see it as an honour some see it otherwise.

read this article half way down page:

The HOF is NOT about the fans, sorry guys.

It would be pretty funny if the HOF gets shut down for tax fraud. To me it is seeming more and more like the ones participating in the HOF's events lately are posers. Don't get me wrong, I don't think most of them know they are posers..and I certainly don't think the original gnr were posers back in the day...but times have changed and I guess it's cool again to be mainstream. I know, Axl participated in the past...but he has now realized that it's not all it is presenting itself to be...add that to his history with Slash and the whole things makes perfect sense to me.
