Hey I'm new...so I don't know if a thread like this had been posted yet....but anyway the long wait for Chinese Democracy....got my wondering what other bands would people take the kinda "punishment" that we Guns n' Roses take for......in other words what bands are worth waiting ....past of present

this forum is a GUNS N ROSES discussion forum not the NEW guns n roses forum,
slash and duff with the exception of matt use to be in gnr so they still count as gnr

Yeah the letter said AS SOON AS POSSIBLE in regards of a new release date.
So maybe try reading what your quoting before trying to pull it apart.
They could have said fuck all until that release date is finalised, but they actually updated us with something, and little fuckwits like you still have a go. I'm grateful for the update, and hope they tell us stuff regularly. I can see why they don't bother, because you probably wouldn't have posted this if they hadn't said anything.
Just go away until they release it if you wanna wet your knickers every time something happens you don't like!!

You´re beeing gratefil for absolutely nothing. They finally finished recording. So what???? This is prolly just opening the door for more "unforeseen" reasons to delay the album. Then there´ll be another pointless update. And more pathetic gratefullness. Sorry, bra but the Del James update MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

The whole performance was actually better than Axl's.
She sang better than Axl live.

You people who want to just drop Finck and give the world to Fortus. Yeah, Finck can annoy me too with his playing, but it's not about the old solos with this band; it's about Chinese Democracy.
Have you ever considered who is the primary writer working with Axl? All evidence points to it being Finck. He wrote the first TWAT solo, he wrote the Blues solo, a couple of solos on IRS, and the last Better solo (and a lot of that song). None of this makes him the next Jimmy Page, or Slash for that matter, but it does appear like he's got something to offer when it comes to making new music.
Please tell me what Richard Fortus has written for this band? If it turns out that he has written some good shit, then I will acknowledge that. But until then I am not ready to hand the reins to a guy who has some cool poses and punches his guitar approximately one thousand times a night (I really hate that), and kick a guy to the curb who I know can write some good stuff.
In short, Better and The Blues solos > guitar punching and cool poses
No offense to Richard, but we simply do not know as of yet what his contributions to the new album are. He is a very good live player, certainly better than Finck. But Axl has Finck in the lead spot for a reason. It sure ain't for his playing of the old solos, it's obviously for his writing and on stage energy. I really don't care about the November Rain or Rocket Queen solos anymore. When I want to hear those done the way they should be I will listen to Slash himself play it.
To answer the question, the best thing this band can do is release the album and start playing more of it in concert.
