They played the General at Crystal Palace v Liverpool in the premier league pre kick off, so the dj there must be a GnR fan, coz there's no way axls childhood rape orchestral epic is a song that would be enjoyed in the build up to a big football match

Also seen a few people suggesting the pixilation on the vinyl is on purpose - it isn't. the digital releases and all artwork GnR have posted or released to press do NOT have this pixilation issue. It's just a fuck up using a shitty small image they've stretched. A mistake a 14 year old intern might make, but not a single person with any design or grapic imagery experience would make. So very very GnR.

A good song, that would have had soo much more impact released as part of an album with soul monster immediately after. never ever a mainstream digital single. Again, so very very disappointingly GnR.

    No way.

  2. With the performance of this song I’m almost seeing the band in a new light, as entering into a new period as a functioning collaborative that releases music, I also see them further now from AFD/UYI as I ever have. It’s almost as if this lineup has legitimacy as a stand-alone act. They’ve been performing under the name “Guns N’ Roses” for a long time without it ever feeling that they were greater than the sum of their parts or that it wasn’t ever them just trying to relive the past (I’ve never felt that Slash has been totally committed to this thing), and Duff has only been along for a hell of a ride. It looks a little bit different now, shame this period will last only for a few days. They need to get back out on the road next summer.

  3. Haven’t listened to the leak that much but have a watched a few videos from this show of this song and I’m impressed. This is a good song that’s about to be released by a ‘legacy’ band. I don’t think there will be many other bands releasing songs as good as this 35 years into their careers. Thanks uncle Ax for ‘the vault’.
Wasn’t too fussed for an album before, think there should be one now, get WL and release a LP.

Eh delta center here where the jazz play is about 20k capacity. So it’s not super small.  However not all of the seats were full so maybe that’s why.  As they continue to become more irrelevant as more bands always do year by year they could play here at Maverik center where our B league hockey team plays.  It’s about a 10k venue.  Lots of bands play there.

Yeah, decent size then. Guess the camera angle wasn’t displaying the arena in all its glory, kind of looked small from Del’s shots.

Pool Circle and Garden boxes will be very expensive. Half way up, up to the top will be pretty standard concert prices.

Pool will be cheaper if it is GA but the majority of the time it is seated, so that outcome will dictate a little.

Cheers. So maybe 100 bucks for high up, bit more maybe? (I’m not from the US so not experienced with pricing these days).

Capacity is huge for the venue, with 2 shows this is more like a stadium crowd

Thanks for the insight, yeah I think I need to dispel the notion that these are intimate shows, it looks huge actually. So with cost in mind, just usual prices then for this run? The Hollywood Florida show was expensive but l guess it’s less than half the size of this place.

It's not just the baritone vocals, it's the calmer or more relaxed delivery of the vocals starting around 5:20 fits the song so much better than the falsetto voice. Wish he'd sing it like that all the time. The "I'm out here all alone" part sounds great. Night and day compared to the first video that pops up on youtube when I searched "gnr estranged 2023" (which was from Vigo)

He sounds pretty good here for the most part, the early part of the song could have been from the early nineties. There’s a tone and warmth to this voice that I think has been lacking in other baritone attempts. You know I still want it to sound like Axl is singing, and not loud talking.
I could listen to that without being distracted.

Estranged has been a weakness song since the reunion, sadly. This sounds like an improvement.
