There isn't anything management is doing to fans behind the scenes. There's a banned member making claims that they're acting on behalf of management by getting GN'R videos removed from YouTube and that's all.

Nothing really to do with this boxed set or the thread.

I had GnR demos uploaded 11 years ago on YouTube with 300k views each. They got removed 2 days who. Idgaf tho.

This describes exactly what happened to me except for the fact that I said to myself "even 650 are so ridiculous that it doesn't matter if I pay 300 more" and then just clicked "buy".

I am a cd and record collector for 30 years and I wantd the vinyl of the demos so much. I was not willing to pay 180€ for four CDs only, so I decided to pay 950€ the whole package instead and being forced to buy lots of crap I habe exactly  zero interest in, like rings, fake tattoos, copies of flyers (I do own originals) and so on.

I blame the management/band for not releasing a stand alone vinyl issue of the demo recordings. This is such a fuckin bitch move.

Great, 9.999 boxsets left in the warehouse

The stuff that Marc has on the reckless road book is priceless. Im sure Axl and co were pissed off that they couldn't make money off of the stuff he has. The dude even has footage of the band working on sweet child o mine as it was being made.

Can someone tell me the source of what this poster claims? (existence of footage of SCOM being made).

Is it stated on the book?

I am buying it because I want to support the band. AFD is one of my favorite records, maybe the one that has had the most impact on me. I don't know how much I have spent on that record in my life, not much, one vinyl, a CD or two, but the amount of pleasure I have received is impossible to quantify. So I am giving back. And I do that while agreeing that it is a flawed product. But the record isn't.

this band doesn't need financial support, they are already wealthy as hell.

What they do need is releasing new music

In a PC world with Axl disavowing OIAM & hating on Trump. Yet he still puts out a poster of a woman being raped. Hypocrisy much?

actually it's a monster saving a girl from being raped according to my friend jeff fura

He was talking about stuff being definitely released on bootlegs which you had to hunt for years by leaving your house and having much luck. Nowadays everyone has access to this stuff within seconds whilst sitting naked on their toilet.

He was not talking bout stuff rumored to be existing.

Sorry but Jackie Chan (working title for checkmate) was confirmed to exist by none other than Axl Rose

Kinda sad that there's not much left in the unreleased catalog... except for the live Canter recordings... no working songs or other rarities left... the pre-Internet days were fun when we searched for bootlegs at Hollywood record stores.  Everything is so accessible from the Internet that collecting is less of a challenge...

Yea super accessible. Send me Jackie Chan/checkmate please

I was considering getting the $180 version, but I'm having second thoughts. While I'm still a fan of the music, there is so much I dislike about this band and the "entourage". The more I think about it, the less I can justify spending so much money on this. To quote Alan Niven, "instead of spending $1000 on a box set, why don't you send $1000 to a needy charity and really do something for the world".

Charity is overrated. You'd better off demanding a better usage of your tax dollars. Less spending in wars and more investing in welfare.
