I really can't see why. It has an album I already have with just a few bonus tracks and a few video's, 4 of are already have on a DVD that I never watch. The 4 cd's offer 2,5 discs of amazing quality demo material that I love. So really, why is the blu-ray such an appealing item?

Blu-ray has 5.1 mixes which offer separation between tracks, now that's something new. 4 discs include demos we all heard before.

  2. "Elliot Scheiner's magic in 5.1 comes from: a) his great experience in the studio, b) his love for the format, c) his respect for the original music from which he is doing the mix, d) because he is hell bent on detail and that's what he strives for in his 5.1 mixes..."

"He remains faithful to the original intent and mix, yet he has a way of "opening it up" and spreading it out to give the mix more room to be heard. To hear instruments or backing vocals that were buried in the 2 channel mix come alive it a treat, and they don't necessarily have to come from the rears to come alive."

Thoughts on his work on AFD?

I think I'm getting the big black box. I haven't seen the big box with the GNR logo on it. I don't think amazon.com is selling it.

does anyone know where the very expensive is being sold? The deluxe package I ordered was $145. I also ordered the deluxe cds to play in my car. lol

why though? the $999 boxset is basically the deluxe package wtih a lot of extra garbage... Not worth the money, but maybe you're millionaire idk

After listening to this several times through the day, I've become more and more intrigued and borderline obsessed. I've honestly never wanted to hear a song so bad in my fucking life. This song sounds EXACTLY like what I've been wanting to hear from Guns N' Roses for 25 years now.

Haven't you considered getting some temp tattoos instead

If ANYTHING people should support this because the more money the label makes the more money they will be willing to give Guns to record a new album.

Music is still a business when it comes to record labels. 🙄

My guess is that the lack of new songs has little or nothing to do with money. (In fact there have been dozens of finished new songs in the vault for ages). Plus GnR is wealthy and powerful enough to produce and publish as much as they please.

Just had a chance to listen to the clip; there's very convincing Axl vocals throughout, on top of a very groovy, almost stoner rock militaristic rhythm.  Really reminds me of Madagascar, like these two songs were intended to compliment each other.

I need more of this!  :axl:

haven't heard the clip, but "convincing" vocals can be taken from CD multitracks

    Believe me, they have it.
Not atlas, but the general and a 30sec clip of Checkmate is 100% sure.
And they make a lot of money out of this.

It would not surprise me if someone bought a car with just the money he made with these leaks.

If that is true, let's suppose you're rich and you don't care about spending thousands of dollars in a song: where would you buy it? Who would you contact in order to pay and get the song?

I'm ready and set for this. I can't begin to tell you how excited I am, to hear appetite in blu ray through my 5.1 logitech sound system. That alone, is worth the price of admission many times over. Appetite is my favorite album ever, to the point it has some kind of mythical status. For decades and decades, the original 1987 master was all we had. There are so many layers to this album, from steven's drums, izzy's rhythm, Slash's lead, duff's bass and Axl's vocals. All these layers will be separated in discrete 5.1 and blast through my 6 speakers in blistering DTS decoding.

I've played some blu ray concerts through it, to get in the mood, and that ain't no joke. I played zeppelin's DVD, played rock n' roll and bonham's drums sounded like thunder. That's when I knew I was good to go.

I could do with this box set until the end of days. All what comes next, by any artist, is just a bonus.
