  1. I don't know about this.

Let it play out, see what happens

We have an aggressive move by this forum. Of course, It will create short term traffic, and if it pays off, then great.

We know the dynamics of all the forums, and it is fun to just to sit back and watch their angles and foreplay

Mysteron, do you think this is a response to other sites breaking exclusive news?

  2. Hehe. Sorry I didn't spot the trolling sooner.

I know what cassettes are, but what has this got to do with the value of my opinion? If anything, you seem a little insecure about your right to comment. Why are you listing your music collection? Why are you talking about your closet??

If we could stop talking about you and maybe get back on topic, I'll ask you a question. When in the past have you felt guns have been 'obligated to deliver'? A superfan like you must have felt they have been on a few occasions.

And honestly, where is the 'satire' in your original post?

  3. Should probably remind you we were saying 'please release cd' for longer than some posters on this forum have been alive.

If you can't acknowledge the glacial pace that guns moves at, you're a certified nutjob.

I've following these message boards in some form or another/in varying degrees since the AOL message board days in the mid-90s. I remember "I'm not sure if soon is the word", "March 6", etc.

It's their band/Axl's band/the pace is up to them or whatever powers that be in the business. It's the fans' choice to spend money on whatever product they put out or tour they book. To that end, so far, the record they put out was well worth my money as was every time I've seen them live over the last seven years. So I'm not complaining.

If you think the band owes you anything more than a good album if they sell it to you or a good show if they sell you a ticket, you're a certified nut job :book:

If you don't want to hear dissenting voices, you should either be more realistic or post elsewhere.

If you don't think guns fans have had a raw deal, I can assure you that you'll be in a minority on any board that allows free speech.

The well-practised naivety of the nutters simply doesn't fly around here. Check any thread. And yes, for someone who claims to have been a fan for so long, you come across as either easily taken in or easily pleased.

Either way, don't expect the rest of us to be the same.

  4. Duff might not do a 'reunion' without Slash, but its not out of the realm of possibility that Duff was up for touring with the band (much like Izzy returned to do), co-writing or whatever. The interpretation doesn't have to be 'rejoining GNR'. Marc doesn't talk to Duff often enough to know every discussion, proposal or plan.

Seems reasonable. And it'd be great to see duff collaborating with Axl again.

But in the hands of people with certain prejudices this information becomes 'zomg duff begged to be let back in multiple times!!'

Once again, it's all about the shading. The extremists on both sides only see (and present) things in black & white.

  5. Do we have any connections with Slash or his camp such that we could pose questions about this? I know there was a forum interview a while back.

Up until now the story has been a guns nerds only affair. I think msl is counting on a response from either slash or duff to give the accusation legitimacy and increase the chances it'll be picked up by mainstream media.

Given that this thread has revealed the story to be dubious at best, we shouldn't try too hard to embarrass guns fans by going to slash & duff for answers.

  6. Unfortunately, the full document isn't going to change this argument at all. At least not based on my quick read. Oh well.

    But "phonorecord" is hilarious.

True. There's just too much ambiguity to be sure of anything.

Why would they draw up a written agreement on 10/15 and then go to the trouble of back-dating it to 9/1, only to sign it in late October?

  7. So is this a private discussion for tribe members only or can someone tell me who snooze is and why he's any different than any other fake insider?

Snooze has access to and has posted several full pages of the agreement, including page 1.

  8. Gunner are you blaming the fans for Axl's lack of output? Every time I hear a fan say this it leaves me amazed at how far the termites have spread in the guns world.

You're putting words in my mouth, bro ...

Ok sorry. You're not saying this then? Just looking for clarification.
  9. Gunner are you blaming the fans for Axl's lack of output? Every time I hear a fan say this it leaves me amazed at how far the termites have spread in the guns world.

The culture of blame, along with the need to tell Axl only what he wants to hear, is exactly the reason why we are where we finds ourselves today.

  10. This threads needs a spring clean.

Snooze, there's no hope it'll stay confined to here. Well worth posting though.

It's difficult to claim on one hand that the sig dates are crucial, and on the other that the date the memorandum was drawn up should be ignored. Especially if you're saying the name clause wasn't added later.

  11. Mysteron, why? Msl said he offered you the doc when everyone clearly wants to see it. Some might interpret this as a taunt.

You confirm he offered it and then say you've no interest. Some might interpret this as smug.

You then go on to comment repeatedly on this topic, one in which you claim to have no interest, in this thread.

You both clearly enjoy the attention that comes from being seen as 'insiders'. End of story.

  12. The insider love-in is needed to maintain the insider image. Yawn.

The msl/snooze interaction is way more interesting. Msl has been and gotten the docs and done the tour date math. Snooze claims to have actually been there, which is way different. The shading he gives to the situation, in light of the two differing versions of the memorandum, is pretty compelling.
