To each their own I guess.TWAT is near impossible live, and I was there the first time it was played at Hammerstein. It's a difficult song to play on all fronts. I prefer Slash because 99% of CD was waaaaaaay overproduced. I enjoy the more bluesy, stripped down versions Slash plays. Robins TIL solo completely sucked on the album, again my opinion. Just a mishmash of noise. Robin also butchered  the old songs (don't get me started on Ashba) and Bumble never fit. I'm looking forward to if and when Slash plays on whatever material Axl has been holding back.

It's really complex, I think Slash is playing really good versions of CD songs, the TWAT solo is pretty good IMO, not perfect as Bumblefoot used to play it.

And... come on. "Near impossible", no. It's not, it's not a "near-impossible" solo, it is complex and beautiful, something Buckethead can do all the time, but I think it's too much to call it "near impossible".

I still have a lot of problems with Slash playing the TIL solo, mainly because, I was never 100% convinced of that solo (Maybe the studio version is the one I most like), Ashba... god damnit Ashba, never try to play that solo again.
But I seriously thought Slash would give that song a great solo, the song is too beautiful and it deserves an amazing NR-like solo, and the man to do that is Slash.

...I still hope the guy can compose a great solo for that song.

  2. Hello, hoping everyone is okay.

I know lately Guns is playing a lot of covers, even I think it's pretty annoying the VAST AMMOUNT of them per show.

But I feel different about TSI's covers, I think Guns kind of gave them a personal touch there, they released an album and it was the last LP we had from them in a long time.

Now with the reunion, some of those covers are beeing played by the band; many of them were played before but now "resurfaced".

New Rose, I think it's the best example, we didn't had it before. I don't know if the song is strong enough to be a consistent one in the setlist, but when they first played it it was a little nice surprise.

Which covers from this album would you like to hear Guns play?

I like what they did with Raw Power, when they reunited with Duff, they added to the setlist, and it was present in some shows last year.

I think it'd be cool if they do that with Since I don't have you, or Ain't it fun.
Or even play Hair of the dog again.

    What do you think?

  3. Wow... such drama bitches in this forum. Its like 2008!!!

It seems it was a good show! I think they should give many variations to the setlist, I'd like more "surprises" like when they first played Coma or Estranged in 2011.

Wouldnt it be great if they put something like... right next door, so fine, since I dont have you (i know. Its a cover, but come on!!!), dust, dead horse, prostitute.

Bring one of these per show and we're all gonna be happy.

I'd seriously like something like IRS, SOD but I dony know how Axl's voice is. Since I dint have you, so fine would work better.

  4. seriously, don't feed the cupcake.

My condolences to Big B and his family. It is strange how human mind works. I'm really saddened about a woman I never knew passing away, because this guy I don't know can make me feel a lot of things with his passion on his music.

The new album looks like it's gonna be one of the best pieces of music from Bucket.

  5. Sound quality is pretty solid too, thanks.

    EDIT: Gah, I'm guessing they've already done Trooper, #, 2 Minutes :(

EDIT 2: Live stream just hiccuped from Phantom to Run to back to Phantom...

So sorry man! I posted it around the Trooper I think.

I should have posted it before, I just thought about it.

  6. YES! I saw that and I was really happy, Prostitute sounds AMAZING and i'm also really glad they're pulling these songs out.
Amazing that they played Yesterdays, but IMO Axl should play it when his voice is 150%, it's a really, reaaaaally difficult song to sing, you need overpowered rasp.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great version and i'm glad they played it, I'd been happy beeing there.

  7. Well, don't get me wrong I AM really excited for this, but I don't think Axl's voice is at the same level of the 2012 London o2 Arena.

But I could be wrong, let's hope for the best :D

The TIL here is waaaayyy better, I was listening to the London 2012 TIL just yesterday and it's pretty hard on the ears.

Do you have a link of this version?

I agree TIL was pretty weak in London 2012, but it's a great concert IMO.

The best TIL pro shot is probably the Reading 2010... I'd like to hear more of that concert, sadly WTTJ was kinda out of breath, but the rasp is there.

  8. I hope no one thinks Axl is actually going to put out new music...

    IDK man, it's difficult.

I mean, I know that's probably one of the biggest craps ever said, and my rational side doesn't think the band's gonna reunite after Vegas to start "something".

But... After so much silence about that topic (I seriously don't care in Ashba's, Dizzy's or even Bumble's opinion in this matter), I kinda have a liiiittle candle of hope.

Who's she? I'd fuck the arse off her given half a chance! :) Looks like Ashley and Mary Kate before they got on the smack.

That's a sheman bro, but I'm guessing it Ain't the first time you fucked a guy up the ass lol

On that note, Apparently Bach stiffed him on royalties so I'm guessing it's not his first time being fucked by a man either hahaha

Oh come on, you can't blame him, it's like that tokyo hotel singer, those doesn't count as men.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On topic, I agree Sterling would be a good replacement, he's actually a good composer as Bucket and Bumblefoot (And that totally matters  ).

And i'm serious here, even with the Bach problems, I think the guy deserves recognition, he knows what he's doing.

Someone up there said Doug Alrich. He'd probably not fit in GNR, but damn, he's SO FUCKIN AMAZING, I'd love to see him here.

John 5 would also be a good option, his solo stuff is GOLD.

He gave Manson a great sound (I prefer the 90s Manson, but still, John 5's work was amazing), and he's one of the best things about the Rob Zombie band, he also worked with Adler and (correct me if i'm wrong here) Duff.

What about Orianthi? Did someone mention her before?

Now that'd be a good option she has everything, the shreding, the passion, the image, she's with Alice Cooper now.

Also the singing! She can have a little spot like Bumble, I think Orianthi is probably the best option.

If you don't know her, ooooh you're missing something big here:

    That "Slashy" solo... Hah!

If you want to keep on the freakshow, Yuto Miyazawa is a 14 year old boy who played with Ozzy when he was 9... It would be so bizarre having Ashba and this kid jamming and watching the kid kicking Ashba's ass that I'd go running from Argentina to Vegas to see that.

    yuto.cool.pic_1_.jpg

So... I want Bumblefoot in GNR, really I do.

I wish this rumor is just a rumor and he'd continue here, the guy rocks in every sense of the word, he's an amazing musician, composer and he's great with fans.

But if he has to go, these are my options.

  10. I'm not a huge NIN follower but am looking forward to seeing them this summer. Which songs did Finck write?

I think Rezor writes it all but some particular exceptions.

But you'll probably get some of this:

Damn, I love those backing vocals from Robin, they remind me the 2001-2002 Mr. Brownstone.

  11. There are a lot of great singers out there, Ivan Moody, even if he's in a project that's doing really well and it's way more agressive than VR, his clean voice is amazing and would do great in VR rockers.

Johnny Solinger, the ""new"" guy from Skid Row has a good voice for VR, that'd piss off Bach so much.

Myles Kennedy has a nice voice, he can do the job well, it won't be MY personal favorite, but I would understand him there.

John Cooper? What about him? He has a powerful voice.

Still... I think Weiland is the best option, VR is NOT a project of the guys plus a singer as they want us to think, I see it as a full project, and Weiland is a part of it, his voice goes very well with the short-rockerts here.
