1 hour ago, soon said:Fantastic interview!
As a music nerd, I was a little impatient during the 'what does a producer do portion?' but Im sure many people benefited from it.
I bet Beaven was mistaken when he says that both Slash and Duff overlapped with Vrenna. But interesting as Slash was back and forth again (pun intended) a few times in the preceding years. Maybe this exposes another 'feel out period' ?
I interviewed another big named guy who worked with Guns N Roses today. Cant say who it was, but hes got some interesting axl stories.

I believe pianos were a really nice addition to the band, I cant really imagine songs like 14 years, Bad Obsession and Dust N' Bones wihout 'em.
Yeah, I know its cool to say that you like raw rock, that you have badass attitude and blablabla but GNR music evolved from hard rock (really good hard rock) to rock n roll. Had they released a 2nd Appetite I dont think we'd be here talkin about them to this day, they'd be just another Def Leppard. Their music evolved and the less entertaining songs on the Illusions are just the "raw" ones. Get in the ring, Shotgun Blues, Garden of Eden... lol
Whats the podcast?
Here it is guys our interview with Sean Beavan. Lots of GNR and Chinese Democracy talk

My co-host Geoff and I got a chance to sit down with former GNR Producer Sean Beavan for almost 2 hours and discuss a lot of Guns N' Roses related items, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and other stuff! Sean was awesome and super nice to do this for us.

I’ll probably give Dizzy’s album a listen or two, but like he says in the interview 90% of music is crap and the other 10% is good, and I’m willing to bet which category his will be part of..
surprised that del james produced the record. I wonder if he asked duff or slash to play on it. Sounds like they are not on the record.

An album launch in Australia?!
Didnt see that coming!
On the contrary I think the album artwork sucks, it’s just a Live Photo!
Enjoyed the interview though!
Notice Dizzy said he’s fitting this in whilst being busy. Busy with what?
Hmmm..
yeah dizzy's album cover is horrible. Was thinking the same thing.

I actually watched about an hours worth of that video. The guy actually comes across really well and it's not an effort to sit and watch.
He gets Duff first. His pal says he should get him to sign his arm as opposed to a picture and get it tattooed, jokingly. He gets it done and this is his mission.
He meets Adler at some show he does with his band. He leaves at the end of the show thanking the bouncer who informs him to go to the VIP area where he gets Steven to sign his arm. Once Steven is told he's getting it tattooed, he runs back and washes down his hand and rubs his previous effort off and does it again. Later meets Adler in Canter's and spends 2 hours with him.
He gets Slash at a meet and greet I think. Once he gets up to him, Slash refuses to sign his arm. He tells him he's came a long way to meet him and eventually reluctantly signs his arm.
He gets Axl at that fashion show they did in 2006. Gives the bouncer 20$ who then shouts at Axl after the shows finished. Bouncer advises him not to show Axl his tattoos because "he hates his ex band mates". He gets him to sign his forearm and with the use of photoshop, copies it and gets it tattooed next to the others.
He meets Matt at some point, who offers to sign his arm. Not wanting to be awkward, he lets him do it and later washes it off.
He gets VIP at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the hope of getting Izzy. He gets thrown out for disturbing them and has a conversation with Steven again. Boy from Green Day informs him of where Izzy stays.
He had an incling that Izzy would appear at the first residency in Vegas, so bought tickets for the last shows. He meets Beta who asks for his number and she'll call if Izzy is still there after the show. She gets back to him and says he's a recluse and is now in bed. He waits til 7am after his last show. He meets Beta again who again says he's in bed. She stops and tells him the hotel he's staying at and the time they've got a car sent to him at. He gets Izzy.
I watched this over 12 hours ago so I'm just going off the top of my head, so I might be inaccurate with some of the destinations. It's a good watch though.
yeah the guy is a really good story teller. I wish his izzy movie would see the light of day but it seems like the guys who shot it are incredibly busy with other projects.

Thanks a lot, I wasn't aware of those other music videos, keep up the good work.
I find it annoying and it bothers me in an OCD sort of way that The Garden and You Could Be Mine aren't on their vevo.
thanks!

I have those photos. Did buy them back then.
The best thing about the 1991 Gig in Oslo, that never happened, is a party with GNR and the band Go Go Gorilla.
The GNR show was cancelled, Axl Rose went to Paris, leaving the rest of the band, and crew in Oslo.
GNR was in this bar, and suddenly Go Go Gorilla came in. Overloaded of Joy because they signed a record contract that Day.
The two bands bonded and celebrated the contract. Slash payed for all of the liquor.
The Go Go Gorilla's singer, was a funny but poor guy. Had No money, had no car, but he had an older bicycle. When they did leave the bar, they tried to escape the paparazzis. On a bicycle. The singer, slash and matt sorum, all three on ONE bicycle, and a Duff McKagen, allready way out of shape trying to run after them, together with the paparazzis and bodyguards.
The singer has a very loud laughter and half the City could hear him coming down the street with "50%" of GNR on his bike, and a Long tale with photographers, bodyguards, fans, and a exhausted Duff back There somewhere.
Those Were the days, haydays
thanks for the story, didn't know that.

An amazing subscriber from Norway sent me these from her collection. I remember reading about Matt Sorum and his then wife Kai Sorum visiting Matt's ancesteral village and there's also a review of Guns N' Roses show in Oslo. I haven't seen a lot of these photos before!
