I’d love to see catcher played. I really like Duff and Slash on that actually, I think other than title track, that’s the best one they do from that album
Holy shit, is this you? This is great
Yessir, thank you! Shared it here back in 2019, mods were nice enough to let me. Always happy to see this scorcher of a tune back in the set! Cheers.

No one is allowed to complain about setlists ever again. I can dream, can’t I?
And might as well re-share this in honor of the song’s re-appearance!

Ummm I’m just saying I’m currently in Europe and I’ll play the whole set if they’re in a pinch and want to fly me in for the evening - I miss 100% of the shots I don’t take! 😎

I had the privilege of taking lessons with Ron on and off for the last decade. He was a great man, and always so kind and encouraging. RIP.

Ok that was fucking classic. GN’R + Dave finishing the second half of Paradise City with no power. That’s #professionalism right there!

All I know is after spending last year not even knowing if shows would be a thing again this year, next year, or ever, I think it’s great that my favorite band is gonna play a 2+ hour show tonight.
And nobody here cares whether they play Difficult Education or not.
Perspective, people!

I haven’t posted in a long time but just poking my head in to say that I love how the band are still out there killing it and making gigantic crowds happy in spite of a select few on their fan forums griping about how they’ve gone soft and are lazy for [checks notes] being in their mid-late 50s and playing 2.5+ hour sets every night.
My dear sweet goodness. In the last year Van Halen fans have lost Eddie, Stones fans have lost Charlie, and some of you are just here to whine endlessly that your band isn’t playing enough new stuff in their nearly 3-hour set.
I promise I have no personal connections to anyone in the band, but my goodness some of y’all could use some perspective. Sheesh.

Axl sounds freaking wonderful and so does the band. That is all.

Can't believe they're actually playing tonight in light of all the show cancellations announced around the world this week.
Looking forward to watching a livestream for the first time since probably the final 2017 Forum gig!

Hey, Great cover, really nice!
I was wondering if you would release a version without Lead Guitar for a backing track for practicing to?
(Thank you!)
This would be a bit of a lift. I live about 400 miles from the studio and don’t plan to be back until early next year to finish up the next album. I’m currently on a road trip but when I get back I’ll see if I have an early unmastered mix lying around from before the solos were put on. If I don’t, I’d recommend maybe just taking the four bars from before the first verse vocals start and loop it a few times in GarageBand? Good luck!

You're drumming has an Adler vibe!
This makes me smile. I sped it up juuuust a little bit hoping to get a combo of Steven and Matt's styles going.
I'm super happy that you guys seem to be enjoying this so far. Sincere thanks to everyone who's taking the time to check it out, leaving your take on it, etc., and cheers to RussTCB and the mods for letting me do this!

Great job! Are you playing every instrument? Incredible if so!
Yep, thank you!
And regarding the above post, I’ll totally own the Green Day vocal comparison. As an unwise person once said, you go to war with the army you have, and over many years of hearing GN’R covers I’ve learned that a great way to mangle a GN’R tune is to go out of your way to try to sound like Axl. He is one of a kind and you can both hurt yourself and sound terrible trying! Cheers

Hi fellow GN’R fans,
I’m a longtime MyGNR member, mostly lurker, and have been a member of the other forums since their inception. Back when I was a kid, I used to be a part of the AOL message board community. Perhaps some of you were as well.
Anyhoo, I’m a lifelong musician/songwriter and also work as an attorney in California. A couple of years ago, I had a pretty serious health scare involving six months or so of some pretty intense hospital treatment. I’m alright now, but it definitely made me re-evaluate my life and my priorities.
As a result, and with the help of coming into a finite amount of money that I wasn’t expecting, I decided to quit my law job for all of 2018 to live off my savings and get my entire catalog of music recorded that I’d written throughout my adult life and never really had the chance to pursue properly due to always working and/or being in school. It’s multiple albums’ worth of material, and the first batch is being released today.
I also recorded several tribute covers to the bands who inspired me the most as a musician. Guns N’ Roses are obviously very high on that list. I chose to cover “Locomotive” in part to show how much I love the band, and also because I’ve long considered it to be the great white whale fan favorite that perhaps never got its due. I of course had no idea they’d start playing it live again a few weeks back. In fact, I heard my final mastered version for the first time at the exact moment they played it for the first time in Kansas. I got my completed mastered album delivered to me that weekend, listened to it for the first time that Monday night, logged onto the internets right after, and lo and behold, they played it! You just can’t make this stuff up.
I wanted to share this with you guys since this is the place I’ve gone for a decade or longer at this point to hear from GN’R fans who are just as passionate about the band as I am. Whether it was posting a dingy garage-recorded cover of “Pretty Tied Up” in 2007, the Axl chats in 2008, or being at opening night of NITL in Vegas and posting a review, I have a lot of fond memories of this place.
The album and these tributes were recorded without any sort of expectation of money or fame or anything like that. My music is just that important to me, and getting it done really turned out to be good for my well-being. I’ve never been happier. It’s safe to say that life’s a lot easier to go through without a head full of unfinished business.
With that, I hope you guys get a kick out of this! Cheers.

As a huge fan of the album/era I wonder this myself a lot, but I gave up trying to get inside Axl's head a long time ago.
I just know that I will be a first day buyer of his memoir if it ever comes out, and I'll likely put my life on hold to read it cover to cover as quickly as possible.

I did not enjoy Deftones one bit either. Not my thing.
Their last three albums have been terrific, particularly the ones from 2010 and 2012.
That said, they are NOT well-suited as an opening band. Their sound is downtuned and dense and layered and just doesn't translate well without the "full sound privileges" that a headliner gets. That + playing in a stadium-sized place = I don't even know why they bothered agreeing to do these shows.
Also, in STL at least, they had the weirdest setlist. They opened with 4 in a row from their 2000 album, even though they've put out 5 albums since then. They skipped over a ton of stuff that would've been better suited to a stadium audience. It was just weird.
They're not for everybody, but these circumstances make it even more unlikely that they're going to get many new fans out of this.

There's no way it's the last tour.
Last night he literally said "we will be back, hopefully sooner than last time". And as has been said, if it were the last tour, it would be all over the marketing and not just on a LiveNation sub-head.

I admire that Axl’s willing to risk off nights by not relying on gross amounts of autotune/backing tracks like nearly all lead singers at his level these days, but this is particularly stellar and I’m happy for him.
