You think bands press and package vinyls and other physical products BEFORE they start selling them?

Of course, at less some thousands copies. Bands as popular as Guns N’ Roses did it.

It’s nothing new. And not only music, when someone want to start selling something, the first thing is make some products and their package before start selling

    What a refreshingly tempered response.

A quick comment to the release taking place outside of any touring schedule. I believe The General was intended to happen outside of the touring schedule because I don't think Axl wants the pressure of having to sing it live with his current state of voice. Which is entirely fine with me. I also hope this means the band will release more singles in 2024 when they will not tour instead of waiting to whenever they tour again. I want music ASAP, not connected to tours.

But it wasn't false advertising when it was made.

You think bands press and package vinyls and other physical products BEFORE they start selling them?

The other bands yes. When they promote an album, the album is in the stores that day, why? Because they made the physical product before

People much more informed than me on vinyl production has stated that it is quite common that vinyls are delayed. I can imagine a thousand things can go wrong. But you choose to instead think it is deliberately delayed to make us impatient? Why would they want to make us even more impatient?

Because when someone promoted a physical single have this single made. The impression whit this is that they announced a product that they don’t have

Can anyone of those who cancelled their order because it has been delayed explain why? Was it to...spite Axl? Was it because you will not enjoy the song anymore if it is delayed? I am genuinely perplexed.

You don't understand how a vinyl can be delayed? Seriously? And why do you think they would want to get us impatient?

What’s the problem now? The truck that transport it was broken?

is ridiculous, it supposed to be produced or at least advanced when they promoted it

Why not? People who bought it are confused, nobody really have any confirmation of shipping. Fans are confused, not really neurotic.

It may be obvious for you, but it's not for me and seems like I'm not alone on this.

The logical move is release the vinyl and some days after release in streaming. If they announce a release date some people will cancel the vinyl.

I wish they release the General in Halloween night

That title change with the monsters is interesting too. That, coupled with the fact Axl just loves Halloween, the song itself is dark and sounds like a horror movie score, and the suspiciously close chosen date of shipping close to the 31st, which means many people will receive it on or close to Halloween, it just makes sense to me that they planned it that way.

It might be a regular full on single release with video etc just like any of the other previous 3 and not just a B-side, we will only know until some days after the 27th in my opinion.

I think the same. I suppose a digital Halloween release. It’d be great

Those were previously released songs and not quite “B-sides” in the sense they’re non-album tracks or only available on a single. It’s not a bad thing to be a B-side. A lot of bands’ best songs are non-album tracks.

Civil War is the “R” side of You Could Be Mine single, was released before Use Your Illusions.

Guns N Roses is not like other bands, b sides aren’t less important than the main song.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not played live anytime soon. We can’t lose track that it is a B-side. Traditionally, B-sides and non-album tracks aren’t performed live. Hard Skool and Absurd didn’t have actual B-side tracks. And Perhaps isn’t being promoted as Perhaps/The General. It’s very much all about the A-side with the promotion there. Likewise wouldn’t be surprised if the next B-side isn’t performed live.  Maybe the plan is to put the more unconventional NITL Guns songs as B-sides just to release them

Obviously it’s GnR and anything goes. The mystique of the song, Richard’s quote, and the setlist mentions seem to indicate it’ll be played live. But if it was any other band I wouldn’t hold my breath on a B-side being played live.

Welcome to the jungle-b side Mr Brownstone. Sweet child o’mine -b side it’s so easy. Patience - b side rocket queen. You could be mine-b side civil war…

Just checking U2 in The Sphere in Las Vegas.
Impressive venue...would be nice if GNR could play a surprise gig at that place.

Somebody here said earlier it's only for residencies. Imaginable because I think it costs a fortune to play there.
That owners can ask what they want.
Maybe they show build a mini Sphere....this thing is huge.
Upper seats are damn far away...like in a stadium.
Graphics look great but I prefer smaller venues.

EDIT: Sphere has a seated capacity of 17,600, but has a standing room capacity of 20,000 people.
Not sure how to read this exactly but it's not that much and explains the high prices maybe.

I like the stadium shows, better than this. In this sphere you are seated, the band in a ring and the only special is a lot of screens with lights.

Guns n Roses show is a nearer experience with the band. And I dislike see a show seated

It's just a bit absurd to me that people are already going into things like sound quality about a song they don't even know if they like yet:lol:What if it's the best quality sounding song you've heard, but the song itself listening to it leaves you with "meh", I'm still not going to go back and listen to a song I don't care for because it has great recording quality lol.

I mean yeah? Will be great if it's mixed well etc. But that's not a priority I think about when anticipating a song I don't know I'll even like yet.

In this site there are people waiting for the song only to say “Slash fucks the solo or the drums don’t fit well”

I agree, if Slash is an impediment to releasing the remaining Chinese Democracy era songs as they were supposed to be, then I prefer if the nostalgia touring ends now so the songs can be released without Slash. And then, in a super ideal yet oh so unrealistic fantasy world, Axl and Slash would in parallel work on new GN'R songs together.

Slash is actually a band member, it’s logical to release songs with him playing it. And for me he does a good Job, Chinese Democracy sounds harder with him in the guitar.

Nonsense like this drives me mad!

You follow a band where Slash is the legendary guitarist who has written over 90% of the iconic riffs and solo's that get played at their live show.

And you don't want that man to play a solo on the new song that we've never heard because he has 1 solo you don't like?

And said that a song that could only heard a seconds with a lot of people noise had a killer solo. Obvius is a troll.

This people will tell that Slash solo is no good and the original is better even without heard the other version.
