All he has to say is "Guns N Roses is moving forward with a new guitarist, Slash is not in the plans, and hasn't been for a while. I will not clarify any statements that Slash has made, that is between him and Axl. My job is Guns N Roses and all I can say is we are working on stuff and will let you know when it is ready"

Instead we have all this speculation. People are ready to toss CD2 for the reunion. People are already saving money for the reunion shows. Essentially this silence has led to the demise of nugnr and has given life to the original band.

I'm for the reunion! But I won't be sad if we get CD2 soon. I'd love to hear anything from Axl, but in my opinion the silence on this situation has gone on longer than I ever imagined anyone from gnr would allow it to. Have they even done any social media lately? I've seen nothing.

I'm starting to believe Slash is back in the mix. Possibly negotiation stages already. I'm not crazy I promise, just trying to rationalize why gnr has gone completely quiet.

For people that prefer CD over any Guns album- that's fine but you realize it's NOT Guns n Roses right? It's (for all intents) an Axl Rose solo album. Period.

Regarding Steven and his place in a reunion- he'd be great in a 1 off (like should have happened at HOF). As far as a full on tour- no way he'd last. He'd be off that wagon and back on the 'Night Train' in about a week. Love the guy....so awesome but don't trust his sobriety. Sad but it is what it is. Just use Matt.

1985-89 line-up with Dizzy added. Replace Adler with Sorum if Adler is too much a liability. Replace Izzy with Gilby if Izzy does not want to do it. New gnr members should not be allowed near a reunion, unless it is to shine Slash's shoes.

Yes but how long was Dizzy in the band along with Adler? Few months in early-mid 1990 maybe, when they were recording Civil War? That is why I said the Appetite band 'with Dizzy' - for my first preference.

Dizzy's relevance/need in GnR is about the same as mine. However I get it- he was around during the hey day and I'm fine with him being in the reunited GnR. Completely worthless, but it is what it is.

I have never liked him much either but it seems you are going to need a pianist for the Illusion ballads, e.g. 'Estranged', so either you reform a basic (Appetite?) five-piece and hire a backing musician such Teddy Andreadis; reform a five piece and devalue Dizzy's band status to a 'backing musician'; or, retain Dizzy as a 'sixth' member. The former solution would require another superfluous musician. The second seems somewhat petty and mean-spirited. The third seems the best decision.

Yes of course you'd need someone (Dizzy OR Teddy) for a few songs. However no need to be up there FT doing whatever for the other 75% of the show.

I'd give my left nut to see Guns n Roses perform again. It's been 22 yrs since last show. I'd go to 3-5 tour stops too.

This is not going to be a popular post. You know how all from this forum, well most, say nobody outside the forum care for Ron or DJ. That everyone goes to see Axl. I think the same when it goes to Steven being the drummer. If Slash was back in GNR, and Steven wasn't, I hardly think the general public would care.I wouldn't! The media would go crazy and still call it a reunion. The tickets would be selling like hot cakes. I just want new music and a good tour. I am not a fan of Steven, and wouldn't want him back in the band. Some people might say , Axl, Izzy, Duff, Slash, Dizzy, and Frank. ..Frank! Again, the general public wouldn't make a big deal about it.

The general public only cares about/wants Axl n Slash (and maybe Duff to a degree). The diehards want Duff, Izzy/Gilby and Steven/Matt. And I'd love a UYI type tour - bring back Tracy and Roberta, if they are gonna tour stadiums etc...lets get it right!

The fact that Axl hasn't had a meltdown/rebuttal to what Slash said speaks volumes. I'm more confident than ever that a reunion will happen. Otherwise what's the point of going public? Who cares if they are "speaking" again? Give me Guns n Roses.....give me Axl n Slash.

The news of Slash reconciling with Axl has been anticlimactic to say the least.

To GnR fans it's a long time coming...maybe our band can play live again. For Nu(fake) GnR fanboys I suppose the diaper needs changing.

Zero chance Axl would have handled this like Dave. Axl would have had a tantrum and blamed the lighting guy or the crew for falling and telling everyone to fuck off and gotten out of there ASAP. Say what you want about Dave but this was a gutsy move on his part.

Nice post. Pretty much the opposite happened- Slash and Duff turned lives around (for the better) and have continued to work/tour/make music. While Axl was the one who went downhill- became lazy, unmotivated, fat and basically a cliche. I figured he woulda been the one to evolve and release (a lot) of music.
