"Jarmo clone"? You know, it is possible to stick to your opinion without taking potshots at others. But okay, I will indulge your little trolling.

To people not familiar with Jarmo and his reputation, what jamillos is basically saying here is that I am a sycophant who tries to curry favors with Axl by saying whatever he wants to hear. Maybe jamillos isn't aware of my thoughts on many Axl songs? Or my thoughts on the "reunion"? Or my thoughts on shifting any blame for the lack of releases away from Axl to the managers? Or my thoughts on Axl's dress sense? Or that I am writing down the history of the band without omitting anything that is critical? Or maybe jamillos is simply unable to detect criticism that isn't repeated daily in caps lock and short sentences? Sort of related to how he isn't able to fathom that the reasons behind Axl's lack of productivity could be somewhat more complex than just "laziness" and that me pointing to mental issues is not exactly sucking up to Axl? So no, I am not a Jarmo clone. And jamillos is not an Einstein.

all I know is that as a poster on the internet I find that you are unique and also that you contribute a lot to this forum, making it better, for what it's worth.

That wah solo at 13:20 was nice. More like his classic style than anything he's done in a decade. Hopefully this blues thing will help him slow down and rediscover his rhythm and groove.

Slash never lost his rhythm and groove imo. maybe he plays faster cause that's how he also wants to play so it's at least partly a choice. he doesn't overplays or plays too fast on Orgy of the damned for example. again, just to my ears.

I know this funko stuff is all the rage nowadays but I fail to see what's so special about it, is there something I'm missing? They're just dolls right?

yes, just dolls. would you like the ability to summon the devil with one or for it to do a trick like a transformer? what you're missing is the simple enjoyment of the thing. not everything needs to have immediate function for it to have value.

But we don’t know what it is. Everything is speculation

not everything. we know Axl is not prolific and could just accept that it takes years for shit to happen in Gn'R land and Axl probably isn't going to change his ways as a musician anytime soon. it's only logical to understand that it's complicated for whatever reason for Axl to reach the finish line when it comes to his own music and move on from crying about it like a little bitch cause that's not quality discussion imho.

Jesus fucking Christ. Ok, so I’ve just finally heard it in its entirety for the first time.
First off, awesome, absolutely. And secondly... I mean, I heard hints of old Guns here and there in some of those solos (I guess I’m not the only one). So I’m gonna have to go a bit off-topic here, for which I apologize in advance.

Axl, for fuck’s sake, you have the guy back in the band again after twenty fucking years of silence and pain, and what have you been doing about it except for the tired old touring and probably fiddling with pro-tools in a studio at night when no one's watching? Sitting on your ass, hoarding songs, not giving a damn? What is it exactly that you are waiting for, you lazy redheaded, hard-headed, level-headed fuck?
There, I said it. And I don’t give a shit.
    Oh my god.

    Anyway, cheers.
    It’s five o’ clock somewhere.

seems like Axl owes you a lot

In spanish, says: " No one has said Is going to be out soon, but we are working on it. I cannot answer the question when Is going to be out, until Is finished, first we have to go to the studio AND record it, your question Is mine too, but It Will happen"

I'm with Slash on this one, I believe it will happen eventually. don't know if it's just old material, Chinese material or also new stuff, but how I interpret it is that Axl still wants to release a full Gn'R album in the future and I think they'll get it done.

I don’t know. Like I said, it’s possible but I rather think plans will change.

If something ever happens it will be a big surprise, as always, when it’s something in that Axl’s involved.

no one knows what will happen, it could go either way. Axl is unpredictable, but I don't need to be careful with how optimistic I am considering it's just music, so if it doesn't happen, oh well. if it does, great. I believe there's a good chance Axl will do everything he is capable of doing using his approach on Axl time to make sure the Gn'R catalog will have another great album added to it.

Of course it’s possible. Chances are just higher that happens rather later than sooner, if it happens at all.

I think the crucial ingredient here is that Axl is still motivated to attempt it. I also think there's not going to be a shortage of good ideas and even if Axl takes his sweet time assembling it, according to Slash on the latest couple of interviews where he talks about it, some people in the Gn'R camp and Axl are seriously looking into it which I can only take as a good sign that there is some movement in the right direction.

It's the difficulty Axl went through with CD though that makes him not talk. Why would he, he was slaughtered for years and had to take the blame for record label interference causing delays.

Any album we do see is definitely going to be CD leftovers and if there's not enough vocally for an album it'll be padded out with live tracks. It's completely unreasonable to even suggest a new song started from scratch is going to make it to a release. Let alone Axl recording vocals.

I think it's best if you don't say "definitely" if you don't actually know what material a full Gn'R album will consist of if it will ever be completed and see the light of day.

from what Slash and Duff are willing to share though, it seems Axl is not going to release nothing which is already a positive, considering how rare it is for him to release anything at all.

also, Axl is a pro. he has written and recorded songs before and he can do it again. 1 brand new song is not impossible and not even a bunch of them imo.

Still funny to me. You know if it was up to Slash we’d be waiting for the third new GNR album since 2016

but even if it's not up to Slash, going by what Slash and Duff said in interviews, Axl has not given up on the idea of trying to complete another Gn'R album. they said a lot of things in the '90's as well and I'm aware of that and nothing happened, but this version of the current lineup doesn't seem to have any personal issues so to me that means there's still a good chance we'll get a final Gn'R album eventually and this latest interview only supports that.

  11. Slash said he wanted to make a brand new Gn'R record no? I wonder what Axl chose to go with if it's true that he plans to work on a full album. if it's just more rerecording of old material, or something more.

I'd like it to at least be partly brand new stuff and I don't see how it could all be just Chinese era material that is similar to what we got with the singles, more of the same presented as a full album.

funny how a lot of GNR fans considered CD era band as Axl & his hired
hands and now that they reunited Slash basically says he's a hired hand

not really. Slash is a partner, maybe not equal to Axl, but he's not a hired hand. He has for example, more power within the band compared to the actual hired hands which are everyone in the lineup except Axl, Slash, and Duff, but it seems like when it comes to the music in Gn'R, it's Axl who is the driver, he decides the direction it's going to take and the framework of it, when to do what and which ideas to use, that's his final say.

I worry it's more slash isn't playing any role.

A long time indeed, it's been 16 years (or 8 depending on where you want to count from) but it can't be that much longer. Axl is 62 and sounds 72. Slash has died several times and his heart and lifestyle pre 2010  dont suggest a man living well into his 70s. There isn't loads of time to play with.  And the longer it takes, the more pressure. We all make the assumption that the longer something takes the better it must be, but GnR have already proven this not to be the case.

shame they can't just bang it out in a couple weeks and release it straight away.

banging it out in a couple of weeks is just not an approach Axl seems interested in taking. at least not when it comes to Gn'R material.

there's a lot of interpretation and speculation and shit could always change, but the way I see it, there is plenty of resources including time to complete and release a final Gn'R album.

is it impossible that Axl, for example, chose to put together a few ideas of his own on piano, or work with individual members in the band that are not Slash and Duff? kinda like he did with Chinese, sometimes working one on one with Pitman or Paul or even a more basic thing like going back and listening to old material and maybe a few new ideas.

the issue here is that Axl is not talking and his reputation as an active musician who releases music on a regular basis is not good. this can put even the most positive shit in a bad light like the boy who cried wolf, but it doesn't mean that it won't happen.

I get the skepticism, but my guess is that if nothing was going on in the new music department then nobody would talk about it, certainly not in this way like Slash and Duff are talking about it. if nothing happened, wouldn't it be better for them to not say anything at all and avoid the question?

they're not too old yet to make it happen so I'm not going to say it's never going to happen when there are certain indications that the opposite is true, or at least that the intention of eventually releasing a complete album is there and some of the band members or Axl and crew already started that process.
