  1. Thanks for not kicking my thread's ass, y'all. I appreciate the positivity!

One of my personal positive things is that Don't Cry, even just a minute or two of it, was played in Asia. It's my favorite song ever and I'm just glad it's not completely dead.

  2. Positives for me:

1: Guns are back on tour.

2: Axl returns to the public eye by smacking the shit out of some paparazzi motherfucker and it is caught in all its glory on video.

3: Axl is looking like Axl - rocking the bandana, fur coats, long hair and shades.

4: Most importantly Axl is singing his ass off and sounding better than ever.

5: The band are now playing like a group of guys who WANT TO BE THERE and having fun in the process.

6: Ashba has had little trouble fitting in, looking the part and playing like he belongs there.

7: Ron is clearly more comfortable onstage with the band and is playing with a much more GNR sound.

8: Frank - what can I say, love the guy and his enthusiasm.

9: Axl on twitter to answer questions and settle the score when he see's fit.

10: I'll be 100% happy if I can say that GNR will be playing Ireland this year.

    This, 100%.

  3. I know I'll probably get shit for this, but I thought it would be nice to have a thread without all the negativity and the OMGZ REUNION and GNR educator crap. Disagree with me if you want, but I believe this is an exciting time to be a fan of this band, original line-up be damned.

So, here are some positive things that I'd like to point out:

    - The Asian tour introduced the world to the new and improved GN'R, the one that is determined to take over the world. Lots of positive reviews, Axl seemed like he had a good time, fun was had by all.

    - The Canadian tour was amazing and gave us many 2.5 hour sets, a lot of fun pictures, youtube vids, tweets from Axl and the rest of the band, and a lot to look forward to in the future.

    - Many dates on the South American tour are sold out, and we all know how much they love GNR over there.

    - Axl seems to be having a good time, he's out and about in New York playing surprise shows and hanging out with Baz, giving us novel-length tweets and showing us what's happening in his world a little bit.

So many cool things have happened this year and it's only February. I can't wait to see what happens next.

  4. I think I speak for the entire United States when I say:

Put out a new album or do a reunion tour.

As for Chinese Democracy Tour Part Three, for $90, in a hockey arena, with the superstar lineup of Frank, Dizzy and Bobafett? No thank you.

You are definitely NOT speaking for the ENTIRE United States. I want a new album but I want to see this "superstar lineup" that seems to be rocking everyone's faces off wherever they go.

  5. I've done many stupid GNR related things over the years, but the biggest was, as a broke college student, putting 2 $200 tickets to the Vegas show on 12/31/01 on my credit card and then going on a road trip from Dallas to Vegas without a hotel to stay in on New Years Eve. We ended up sleeping in my car in the Bally's casino parking lot after the concert. Obviously seeing that show was completely worth it, but I was paying that one off for a long time.

  6. This is what Axl would like to say about this thread:

Not doin' surprise shows for the hardcore fans nonsense: Sorry some feel that way. Saw a lot at both gigs singin' every word in every song. We made efforts to get several if not all fans who contacted us n' were in town into these gigs. We also didn't know most of the guests as we don't live here n' for that matter what makes some internet fan more hardcore than whoever else anyway, oh that's rt...nothing!! Some just like 2 bitch 2 bitch. So if ur complainin' n' u drink beer, today I recommend a Lucky or perhaps a Red Stripe...if ur still peeved...again, fuck off.

  7. I don't get the negativity...what is the harm in playing a show that only a few people get to attend? Would you rather they neglect us in the US completely? Would you rather they all went their separate ways for a month between Canada and South America and meanwhile, nobody knows what's going on with them because they're invisible? They're getting the GNR name out there again, maybe these fashion people will hear something they like, they'll tell a friend, those friends will buy Chinese Democracy, and things can only get better from here. I mean, is it just jealousy that makes you people so negative? It's mind-boggling what you guys have a problem with these days.

It's a discussion board,Broham This isn't HERE TODAY GONE TO MYGNR. If you want a place where everyone agrees head to HTGTH., All some of us are saying is it should be open to die-hards. Fuck, they could have raised a lot of money for charity if they would have auctioned off some spots here on the boards. It would be pretty simple to make the show available online but that probably won't happen. If you think viewing shitty youtube videos and getting all jazzed over a show that only people with connections get to see, then more power to ya.

I get it, broseph. I understand your frustration but I personally think it's exciting that they're taking initiative to get their names out there to people who may not know that this current line-up exists.

  9. Regarding the surprise gig, I could be very wrong, but I said this in the twitter discussion thread earlier today..

Okay, so I know we like speculating about stuff here...DJ's facebook status says he's in NYC for Fashion Week. Fernando's status says he is also in NYC, so I assume Axl is, too. So...anyone want to start speculating?

Whoa! It just so happens that my "friend" works for a fashion magazine. http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showtopic=159624

Interesting. And Axl DID say in his last tweet that they'd "take a few days to regroup and then onto the next thing."

Edit: I think this is confirmed now
