  1. but his weight does show a lot about his character in that it shows he does not give a shit about his well-being and fitness. Likely directly contributes to his lack of effort, lack of energy, and degradation of his voice.

Except that there are about a million things that contribute to weight gain that have absolutely fucking nothing to do about "giving a shit about well-being and fitness." There are "fit and fat" people (like some professional baseball and football players...are you going to tell a guy who plays a professional sport that he doesn't care about fitness?). There are people who are fat because they are taking medications that are obesigenic. Prednisone is a huge one, and is given to a lot of singers to cut down inflammation in their throats. There are people who are fat because they have some sort of illness that slows down their metabolism and bloats them up, like lupus, forms of cancer, PCOS, insulin resistance, etc. There are those who are fat because they have another illness or injury that stops them from exercising. There are people who have food addiction (which should really be treated with the same compassion and understanding that we give to narcotics or alcohol addiction, but we don't...we would never tell an alcoholic "hey, just drink less" and expect it to stick, but we will tell a food addict "just eat less" without offering any other help). There are people who are fat because they are depressed or have another psych issue and use it as a coping mechanism.

And yeah, there are also people who are fat because they sit on their asses and eat too much, but the point is, given all of the above, when you look at an overweight person you have no bloody idea what their deal is.

Sure, I suppose there is a possibility that I'm off base on why he's fat, but given what we've seen of this guy's passion for his work over the past 20 years, my theory does seem to jive. The fact his weight contributes to everything I mentioned, and whether it's due to illness or something else, he should probably just hang it up, because the more people witness this train wreck, the more of a joke it looks to the general public.

  2. No one gives a fuck. Guns N Roses is about music, live or on record... If your concerned enough with Axl's hair or the way he's dressing or how much he weighs your not a fan, your obsessed.

Well who cares about his hair but his weight does show a lot about his character in that it shows he does not give a shit about his well-being and fitness. Likely directly contributes to his lack of effort, lack of energy, and degradation of his voice.

  3. Ok so lets say it does happen (just go along for the ride) whats the distribution model?

    1) Just sell CD's and vinyls and pretend its 1996 again

    2) CDs and vinyl, but with the Daft Punk style heavy promotion in targeted spots

    3) Guerilla release a la Beyonce

    4) The Thom Yorke bit torrent model

    5) The Radiohead pay what you want model

    6) Drop flyers from a plane flown by Del james as he wears 1920s aviator goggles

You forgot the option that U2 used to jam it down all iphone users throats whether they want it or not

It seems your statement is a bit wrong - but correct me if I'm mistaken.

U2 sold their album to Apple for 100 million dollars. U2 didn't "jam" anything down anybody's throats - Apple would be the culprit.

Apple didn't "jam" anything down "Iphone" user's throats. My wife has an Iphone and she never received anything U2 related. Did you mean to say ITunes?

And in a 5-second google search, I saw how you can remove the album from your iTunes.

So you are really bitching about a FREE album from a major band sent to your ITunes account, that you can quickly and easily delete. Dang. Your life must be pretty amazing if that's something that causes you disconcertment. We've got children starving to death, and you are complaining about receiving a free album of music?

And before you knock U2 for their role in it, how many bands out there would turn that deal down?

If Apple came up to Axl and said "we'll give you a check for $100 million dollars for your next album"......is he saying "no thanks?" Dude played a wedding last year for the cash.

Wow.. sensitive... Personally could care less about U2, or any Apple products, this is just what I was told.. guess stand corrected.

  5. Yeah, how cool would it be to have GNR be relevant today. Drummer from Nirvana (Hi Axl, Hi Axl, Hi Axl) seems to get better and cooler with age, complete opposite of Mr.Bailey.

Actually very pathetic. Foo Fighters throw out 15 of their 31 songs of their near 3 hour set of covers on a whim, and cool as shit, Team Brazil will build up new setlist with 2-3 new songs (covers albeit) and we get a few new AC/DC songs thrown into the tour.. it's actually comical that we still got some followers.

  6. Oh, and BTW, I was at a Limp Bizkit concert a few weeks ago (yeah yeah, go ahead and make fun of me for going to a Limp Bizkit concert, but they kicked ass), and Fred mocked Axl after doing a cover of Welcome to the Jungle (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/limp-bizkit/2014/best-buy-theater-new-york-ny-3ccb157.html). So everyone can start spewing their hatred for the no talent ass clown Fred Durst.

He said, this one was dedicated to Axl Rose. He's actually here -- points to the last row of the theatre -- he's there all the way in the back corner.

In reality these guys actually appreciate Axl's contributions to the music world and probably influenced by the early GNR years but can't help but laugh at what's become of him.

  7. Everyone here is nuts and delusional. I don't like Five Finger Death Punch at all or that style of music, but they have been around a long time. For so many here to say they never even have heard of them before, you really gotta get out of the box your living in and attempt to see what other type of music is out there. They are actual a pretty popular band and likely could consistently draw at least as well at current GNR.

i don't follow popular, i only follow things i like. If it happened to be popular well i think that's good for them.

I said that never heard of them, and even ask their best song to listen.

here is a diddy from their new album

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSt5f1IyaYE

Actually, I just googled them, and yes, I'm completely wrong, not death metal at all. They are actually not too bad. If you guys with closed minds could actually attempt to listen to newer bands (even though these guys been around for like 9 years), you might appreciate them.

  8. I don't care if he said anything about Axl, it's just a horrible band and the people that listen to bands like this usually suck too.

    this

LOL at people who feel the need to insult those that like different bands than they do.

Are we even 100% it was meant to be "negative"? We're the most ridiculous bunch of people.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO dude. We must, absolutely MUST, insult anybody and their band if they ever say anything negative about Axl Rose. We must act like 13-year-old girls and defend our favorite band at all costs. Axl Rose can bash and rip apart anybody he chooses - but how f*cking dare any other artist say something negative about him. HOW F*CKING DARE THEY.

Agreed -- your all nuts!! Obviously many people don't understand that music is an art form and people have different tastes. If this dude praised Axl, you would all be youtubing them and god forbid a few of you might actually realize that you could enjoy their music.

They are almost like death metal... not my style, but to each their own. No need to make fun of them. They've sold a hell of a lot more records in the past 5 years then anything that Axl's post 94 band has produced.

they are not even close to death metal.

Will take your word for it. I'm not into the stuff that is much heavier then hard rock, so hard for me to categorize.

  10. Reunion will fix this shit we have today..Fans will adore you and honor your decision to get back together..This shit ain't so hard to do..Let's do it!!

Not possible, the voice just isn't there anymore. He wouldn't do any better vocally with the old guys than he did last night, and it would be a huge waste of time for everyone.

i disagree,if Axl just takes it seriously he can re train his voice.

    he's only 51 or 2.

He obviously is still capable of singing better as the rasp parts from last night sounded good. He just strains himself and gets out of breath too quickly as he is incredibly out of shape and not taking care of himself.

  11. Well #THESWITCH was pretty cool... but that was about it. This was the dude I idolized growing up in my mid-teens, and it really is a sad state of affair on how far he's fallen. It's amazing that people let him go out on stage and continue to perform in his shape.

I refuse to accept his age as a valid excuse, because plenty of 50+ year olds sound as they did in their 30s.

Oh well... time to move on, unless Axl looks himself in the mirror and makes a change. I'll continue to pay attention, very much similar to watching Mike Tyson's fall from grace, I can't help but watch the disaster in progress.
