  1. Slash and Axl have gotten over some of their problems and can talk to each other now. That is all there is. Some of you need to look at the bigger picture between them. They have been apart so long that they probably do not even know each other very well any longer. Axl has never had dealings with a totally clean Slash. Neither one of them needs the other to work at their craft. A couple of other things to consider- the minute Slash walks out onto the stage and plays under the name of GNR, he will be working for Axl. That means Axl has total control of what is done concerning the band on and off the stage. That includes merchandising and media. Slash works for himself and has gotten use to having things his way. Slash also likes to create new music and Axl does not. Any talk of a reunion is very premature at this point so many things would need to be worked out. Who would sit down and help them work these things out? Beta and Perla? Perla is still very involved with the business end of Slash's career? And I believe that I have seen several postings here stating that Beta hates Slash.

they were bandmates, not buddies. their friendship was a result of the band and ended when slash left the band. a contract can be written concerning the tour.....money for shows by percentage of profit, rights and money for any dvd or audio release of tour, etc. slash doesn't have to seek ownership of name or live under axl's control to tour with him. my guess is he will have to put up with going on late and traveling separate and that is about it. if axl decides he wants to play cd songs i dont see why slash wouldnt improve the solos on them either and be fine with it. i dont see any issues they cant deal with. they will all be getting siginificantly more than what they are getting now for their work.

You could be right about some of this. One of Slash's major hang ups is going on late. His concerts start on time if they are late for some reason he really gets upset or as upset as he can get about anything lol. He needs to be in constant motion, he does not like to sit and wait. I doubt it would bother Slash to travel separately. Axl might not like to give up control though, his feelings need to be considered also. I really do not know much about Axl. There are a lot of Slash fans that do not want any kind of reunion to happen. We will just have to wait and see.

  3. I'm not sure if I buy that Izzy was trying to talk Axl into attending the HOF. How would Alan Niven know this? Furthermore, Duff was skeptical in an interview with RS that Izzy would even attend, and Matt Sorum said he heard from Slash that Izzy wasn't attending before Axl, and subsequently Izzy, made their announcements regarding the HOF.

Also, all due respect to Alan Niven, but he comes off as bitter towards Axl (see the comment, "then again, how sweet is Sweet Child. Or Rocket Queen. That is Axl as an angel. Maybe even a bi-sexual one"), and perhaps rightfully so. Regardless, he is only speaking his side of things, so there are sides/factors to consider.

    Ali

The other inductees were aware from the beginning that Izzy was not attending and it had nothing to do with Axl. All due respect to Mr. Niven if Izzy was meeting with Axl it was not about the HOF. And I agree with Ali about the comments from Mr. Niven implying Axl's bisexuality. He has been the only past insider that has ever made statements implying this. If it was remotely true it would have been media fodder long ago.

  4. He makes money on them. He said at one time after his first solo all he wanted to do was make enough money to cover the expenses. Although they are not huge sellers he is making money on them. He has his own record company and he does his own PR. He has mostly cut out all the middle people now.The touring is the big money maker and merchandise selling also. Slash's favorite thing is playing his guitar in front of an audience. As long as he can do that he is winning.

  5. Slash is sober which means he needs the hat and glasses to hide. Years ago he did not need them to hide because the substance abuse masked the shyness for him. I would like to see him ditch the hat sometime though.

  6. This party is held every year. This is the same party that Axl attended last year in January. When he told a room full of people he would not be attending the HOF because he hated Slash, it's more like he is scared to death of him lol. Then he waited until to 4 days before the HOF to claim he had just come to his decision.

  7. :rofl-lol: He would do the same!

You're like a lapdog yet Axl doesn't pet you or give you treats for your barking. Man, you're desperate.

I don't like Slash's guitar playing...I can leave if I want to. Problem?

The problem is when you are invited to a private function and accept the invitation you are supposed to respect your host. In any case Beta just leaving the room did not keep her from hearing the performance considering that an electric guitar was the equipment that Slash was using. Her show of definance was petty but hopefully was not noticed by Marc's 12 year old son. Just saying sweetie!

  8. Paul Tobias.

Can't pick him. Axl had to call him in to make SFTD a good song because Slash was incapable of doing it on his own. Slash's savior should never be relegated to simply being a good Slash cover artist. To be a good Slash cover artist, you need to be able to consistently fuck up any and all of your solos, and have a knack for writing generic bullshit whenever you're outside of Guns. As you can see, it boils down to DJ and Finck. DJ wins because he outslashes Finck though. :shrugs:

LOL! You know the only reason Axl brought in Tobias was because he was looking for away to piss Slash off. That's just what people that are carzy as hell like Axl do.

  9. I love Chidem, but Gun's old classics set the bar VERY high for the mainstream fans.

Nah, it's the fans that set the bar too high for themselves.

Yeh.. Because that makes any sense at all... SCOM and Jungle are both timeless classics. They are still played EVERYWHERE today. Hell you go to a bar with a live band playing, chances are they will play SCOM. Go to a sporting venue, chances are you will hear Jungle through the speakers. Turn on a classic rock station, chances are you will hear Nightrain. 25 years on. Just like Stairway to Heaven, Dream on, Sweet Home Alabama etc. Those songs reached more than just their contemporary audience.
