Slash made the best move of his life when left Axl's band. He is happy he may not be playing the kind of staduims that some of you more successful people are playing that stay on the forum day and night. But he is making ends meet. And by the way Axl does not play to the level of concert goers that he played to in 1993 either.

He must be happy. He went to Axl's at 3 in the morning just to beg him for a reunion tell him how happy he was.

Sure that's what he was doing there yeah right! Toss up which one lied Beta or Axl? Or I guess you can blame that one on Doug Goldstein also.

I guess him staying in GNR as Axl's employee would have been better for him. You Axl fans would have loved that! No music from them for 14 years! While Axl was hiding being crazy, Slash could have given interviews letting fans know "we are working on things" like the current set of employees do. The fact is Axl could not have accomplished what Slash has! Hell he cannot accomplish a damn thing now but live off of a name that Slash help create.

Does anybody else find it funny how the Slash fans fly into a serious nerdrage and start bashing Axl in hopes that they might offend whoever they are having a discussion with?

You can say whatever you want about Axl sweetheart, I've heard it all and I agree with most of it.

I believe Slash's personal friend Marc Canter over any nerdraging Slashboy when he says that Slash lies and that Axl was more likely to be telling the truth about that situation. Sorry, no amount of your frothing at the mouth is going to change that.

I don't find it funny at all that you cannot come up with a counter discussion except to claim I'm in somekind of "nerdrage" ! And personally I could care less if you get offended or not!

I'm glad you agree about Axl any sane person would.

Why don't you post some of the things Marc has said about Axl. Marc has also said he was not there for a lot of what went on. He has not had convo with Axl since 2009. Axl got upset because he wrote his book and defended Slash in a discussion on a forum. Come to find old honest Axl is crazy! That means what he says is the truth to him maybe not anyone else.

Since he's only discussed it 300 times and you're either too lazy or too stupid to look for yourself, I grabbed the first quote on the subject I could find. Here you go.

I really liked the first VR record. Scott was a good fit for that music. Slash and Duff did some things on there own and felt it was time to start working together again. This had nothing to do with what Axl was doing. Slash went to Axl's house to try to work out a lawsuit. The note said lets work this out or something like that. Perla was the one who pushed Slash to try to get back with Axl. She wanted a reunion more then anyone. As far as Slash talking shit about the VR guys, I'm sure it was true. Why did he lie about it at first, because he would have broke his bridge in VR if he didn't. In this case I would have also lied. Who wouldn't have? He tried to patch things up with Axl and if Scott knew about it, VR would have been over. This was the reason Slash didn't get up on stage with Steven in 2007 20th year gig. Scott was putting too much presser not to do some kind of reunion.

Now, counter discussion to what exactly? You jumped in here snivelling something about how Axl's the devil and Slash was a supergenious for signing over the name and quitting the band. I don't really see the point in countering someone who would be stupid enough to believe that. Sorry.

If you think Axl is the devil that is your business but I never said that. I also cannot help it if you do not agree with me about how great Slash is that is your loss. Just go on waiting and waiting and have fun with Axl. As far as Marc like I said he was not there his guess is as good as yours and mine.

Now for the name calling let me say this. You are a sarcastic asshole that cannot even carry on a conversation. Stupid fits you perfectly. You are also a computer geek that likes to flex his stuff behind a computer so no one can get to him after he insults them. You sir are a coward!

WTF??? The frontman did all the bloody work in the first place. Axl's contribution to the making of AFD was calculated at 41%, the most of any of the members. When it came to touring it was Axl who again had to contribute most of the effort. I think you completely underestimate how much more demanding it is to sing and entertain thousands of people for hours every night. There's no doubt that Slash was an important part of the process but when it came to shows he didn't have nearly the same demands placed on him as Axl did.

It is so simplistic to say that Axl's output since Slash's departure has anything to do with him at all.

Axl did not do all the work. But just for discussion if that is so. Why hasn't he continued to grow and produce music since he does all the work. Why does he not give interviews, make vids, do special packaging on music, and attend meet and greets? Since he did all the work why is he still calling himself GNR? Surely if he was the only important one he could have made it being Axl Rose not GNR?

I do agree with the  thing though!

He does write music, he just doesn't release it to the public much to our frustration. Axl is one of those rare people that gets caught up in things that he should let slide. The rest of us would just move on and get onto the important stuff but he seems to analyse everything that was said and done to the nth degree. I think he is also overwhelmed by feelings of revenge. If someone has wronged him he doesn't know when to stop. All these things have stopped him from focusing on what he should have been doing, releasing the music that he was born to make. In the early days he didn't have all this stuff to stew over, plus life is much simpler when you are not rich and famous so less distractions.

Axl is rare alright! Everybody in the music business should be just like him!

  6. Does he talk about his current projects? And after working with Myles do you feel like he will ever work in another band dynamic without Myles? And Marc considering Slash's success now do you feel like it was a good thing he left GNR?

  8. You know Bach should tell Duff and Axl that he won't talk about either one of them to the other. This way Bach doesn't get in trouble for talking about any of them.

I don't think either Duff or Axl should put Bach on the spot by talking about anyone he's friends with. It's unfair to him and them.

They are all adults so not putting Bach in the middle of their problems is what being a friend is.

I've been friends with family who didn't talk to other family members, and I would say I'm not discussing anyone and if anyone has anything to say, be an adult and tell them yourself.

I was also wondering if Axl is still talking to Duff after the HOF only because he mentioned that he didn't want to deal with any drama and his wife told him to do it for the fans.

I love how both Duff and Slash's wives both told them to go and do it for the fans! lol I guess if Duff meets up with Axl again, he can say his wife told him to say that!

Lately, Duff has played some shows with Slash, so to me that pretty much says he's taking Slash's side and Izzy is with Axl. If there's a fight, I wonder who's side Steven will be on? lol

I hate to burst your bubble about Izzy but he is in contact with Slash to do some shows with him. I don't think it will matter though. Put the Axl/Slash issue aside and the rest is just business agreements.

Source of Izzy's contact with Slash about doing shows....???

    Frank Sidoris, guitarist Slash's band.

  10. My AFD story. (if anyone is bored)

I grew up in a house where music was played often and loud. No one in my family could play an instrument but they all loved music. From a very early age I would be putting around the house, He-Man and Hulk Hogan action figures in tow, with the back ground music being played by the likes of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Peter Frampton and many more.

My father had a bit more eclectic taste for music than my mother. Hot Tuna, Roxy Music and most of all Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. So from a very early age music was a very important part of the day.

I was a severe asthmatic as a child and missed many days of school. One particular day in late fall of 1987 I was in the bus line waiting to go home and most likely play Super Mario Brothers. My friend behind me was talking about his older brother who worked at a record store. He kept talking about this song that started out slow and got really heavy. He continued to hum along while smacking his thigh..pop....pop...pop pop...pop....pop...pop pop. I turned around and asked him what was the name of this song or band. He just replied "I don't know, but there is a bunch of skulls and a cross on the cover."

As fate would have it the next day I was home sick. My father came into my room after he got out of work and said I have to go to the mall with your sister so she can get a tee ball glove....you need anything? Well I had been dealing with this pop....pop...pop pop...pop....pop...pop pop sound in my head for over 24 hours now and was excited to hear the song for real. "Yeah Dad, can you get me a tape?" Sure he said, which one? "Ahh, I don't know...it's got skulls on it and a cross". I could tell by the look on his face that the look on my face that he knew this was something that I needed.

About one hour later my father returned with a plastic bag that he tossed on my bed. "Here you go kidd-o. And by the way, the name of the band is Guns N' Roses." Now knowing the name of the band I couldn't contain myself. I tore into that bag like it was Christmas morning, only to be with the same disappointment which everyone had when getting a new cassette tape back in the day....that fucking plastic security thingy which was impossible to get off. However, that day, I was not to be denied. I ripped that fucker off like I did the panties of my prom date seven years later.

I quickly went over to the corner of my room and placed the cassette into the one speaker boom box which I kept on a side table as if it were a trophy. That sound....the opening riff to WTTJ took my breath away, literally (remember I was asthmatic). I listened to the whole album twice before mandatory lights out. Rocket Queen made the most lasting impression, and it still does. 25 years later I am in my mid thirties and this album has been my favorite and most consistently played since the day I got it. Albeit that I have owned three cassette copies and two CD's. I listened to the cassettes so often that they tape actually snapped. The days that happened my parents were kind enough to make "emergency trips" to the mall for me to retrieve another copy.

This is the perfect album. The edge has never gone away. I have never had to skip a song. The sound has never been replicated, by anyone even GNR. It also keeps surprising me. Recently about a year ago. I decided to purchase a Bose Wave radio to replace my Bose iPod docking station. I put a copy of AFD in the CD player and again I got chills and it took my breath away. The production on the album is incredible and now that I had a system which was capable of properly exploit the quality of the recording, it was like a new album. I can't foresee every not having this masterpiece on regular rotation in my house or car! AFD has prepared my for basketball games bitty ball through college, AFD was with me on graduation day in high school and college, and it was with me on my wedding day. My wife looked at me as we were planing our wedding, "which Guns N Roses song do you want to come out to?" she said. That right there is true love my friends!

    Happy Birthday Appetite For Destruction!!

    Great post thanks for sharing.

  11. There was also talk on twitter today that Izzy is going to appear with Slash and his band. I guess that would not matter in most cases but Mr. Rose is not most cases.

Did they mention when? Like maybe August 2nd in Boston?

I did not see any date. It came from one of Slash's band members though.

Frankie Sidoris? Man I really hope it happens, then over a 9-month period I will have seen in person every member of the AFD/UYI lineups performing GNR.

Yeah it was Frankie apparantly from what I could pick up he has been in touch with Izzy. Good luck man I hope it happens for you.

  13. Izzy and Axl show the HOF losers how it's done yet again.

So will you be happy if Izzy replaces Bumble in the band?

Talk about a random question...That has nothing to do with my post.

Would I be happy? Who knows? Frankly it wouldn't make much sense because Izzy can't play Ron's parts for the life of him, but if they re-aranged the way the guitarists take parts live (though they would have to cut some songs from the set without Ron since none of them would be able to replicate those parts) then that'd be cool I guess. I don't see myself being happy or unhappy with it if it happened. If Ron is out of GNR that means he can take some time off to focus on himself and get healthy again, plus it would mean he'd have more time for his solo material and other projects.

And your comment about the "HoF losers" had nothing to do with the last NuGuns show...see how that works?

I don't know what "NuGuns" is.

    Hehe!
