  1. Seen Myles live a few times, he's an amazing singer, but there's not one person in the world who can do justice to GNR songs like Axl. It's just not the same. And it's obvious that Axl's voice is the key to GNR. If you heard current GNR but didn't see them, 99% of people would never know the difference. But when it's the other way around, those songs just don't sound the same without Axl, and that's no disrespect to whoever is singing them....

  2. so they did it!.. AWESOME!!!

    OLD GNR........... WINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    'Old' GNR?

What we heard was just plain GNR

    LA

Sorry, none of those guys on stage tonight are in Guns N' Roses. They all either left on their own accord or got fired. Your statement would've been true back in '92 or '93 though. Nice try...

  3. Wow. If Axl was singing, it would sound exactly like the '80s.

    Sad but true

    LA

That's the fucking problem!!!!!!!!!!!! And one of the reasons Axl doesn't want this shit. It's 2012, get over the old shit, move on. Axl has, and I think tonight will be a wake up call for all the rest of these guys, and hopefully this will be the end of this debacle. All that matters from here on out is what Guns N' Roses IS, not what was it WAS. Fuck the old shit. Let's go Axl :)

  4. Wow. Slam at Dizzy :\ "Dizzy Reed, you play a mean keyboard. Keep up the good work!"...

how's that a slam? You know that's what he plays right?

To me, it sounded very tongue in cheek. Maybe it wasn't meant that way, but that's how I kinda took it...

  5. I think they've had way too many logo changes. I mean, it's alright to change the stylistic elements of the visuals, but every kind of "era" of GNR has it's own logo and completely different approach visually. I adored the '06 logo, it was representative of everything GNR, classic and modern, and everything in between. With the CD-era logo, while I really like it, it's tied specifically to the album by default, but a newer logo needs to be less classic looking, and more modern and edgey, and dare I say semi-futuristic?

  6. Hot Topic girls who hear 'Sweet Child' and like it are gonna buy the GH, not 'Appetite'. Soccer moms who want to listen to 'KOHD' and 'November Rain' again are just gonna buy the GH, instead of buying the Illusion albums. It's not a bad cd by any means, especially for casual fans. It has all the hits...

  7. BTW, Voodoochild, DJ did tell me when I talked to him that he wrote Mi Amor in about 5 minutes. Seriously. Said he just picked it up, played 3 or 4 chords, and came up with it right on the spot. I actually like his solo stuff, I think parts of 'Ballad of Death' could fit in in a GNR-epic like 'NR', and I think 'Mi Amor' sounds straight out of a Quentin Tarrantino flick. They're flashy but very simplistic...

  8. I like DJ a lot, I think he certainly brings something unique to the band, and will only help fan (and media) relations, and apparently has a great relationship and connection with Axl, which I guess is foremost important. My complaint with him, like most, is that is is easily the least technically talented player I've seen in GNR. I am very, very average-to-decent on guitar, don't play with a band or do shows or anything like that, just more of a bedroom player, but watching DJ live, and in videos, it's VERY apparent that he's a very average player. He takes so many shortcuts, and 90% of his playing is relegated to playing very minimally and very easy power chords. He's fun to watch, and I love his interaction with everyone, and I really suspect that his strengths will vastly be in the studio, with the song-writing and production aspects, I think he'll turn out to be invaluable there. But I like the guy, he's just CERTAINLY no Robin Finck...

  9. I like Axl's sense of style, it's pretty spot on, but one thing I can't understand is, and same can be said for literally every band member, why do they wear the same outfits constantly? They must only take 2 or 3 outfits max on tour with them. It's even to the point where last week in Chicago, some creeper came to the show with that same exact shirt on that Axl wears with the bunny rabbit skeleton with the heart. It was creepy stalkerish as hell...

  10. I enjoy the shows, every GNR show is seemingly the best concert of your life. But I do somewhat complain about the set lists. Seen this band 3 times, and every show has essentially been the exact same, sans a few songs (adding in 'Civil War', 'Estranged', 'You're Crazy', and 'Used to Love Her'), and you get that feeling watching it. Obviously to casual fans who might have seen them once or twice, but by the 4th time you've heard the 10 minute rendition of 'Knockin' on Heaven's Doory', I'm thinking 'Why haven't I heard TWAT live???!?!' And this is one of those "impossible to pick your favorite child" situations. I love 'It's So Easy', 'Mr. Brownstone', and 'Live and Let Die', but I've heard them a million times, and I wouldn't mind seeing them dropped or even rotated every once in a while to be able to finally hear 'Catcher' or 'If The World' live. I don't think most fans are so naive to automatically reject ANY new material, even the fans I've seen that really hadn't listened much to 'CD' were really digging 'Better' and 'Street of Dreams'. It's kind of hypocritical because during interviews, and especially the forum chats, he's always emphasizing how it's all about the current (and future) and it's all about this band, yet they're relegated to playing a set of covers and 25 year old songs (that they fucking own, btw). I think it was a HUGE mistake on their part to NOT play more 'CD' stuff on this UCAP tour because these shows are vastly hardcore and pro-GNR, so I assure you, if they happen to whip out 'Catcher in the Rye', they assuredly won't get booed off the stage...

  11. Was that the moment when Axl said "They're fine guy"?

Yes, he was referring to the guard hitting peoples hands. If you watch the stream, he was the bald guard right in front of Axl. Richard called him out, it was shortly after someone threw a shirt and it barely grazed Richard, he bent down to one of the other security guards and said "don't do anything them" and made like a "cut it out" hand motion. It was pretty obvious the venue security had a different agenda...
