it makes me wonder if axl is trolling slash with this clown. question is really how do you feel about it popcorn? you've always been a staunch axl supporter, do you support the decision to keep this guy in the band?
Yes sometimes I support Axl trolling the fans, but this thread is about DJ's new hat and its possible symbolic meanings.
possible symbolic meaning is the hat is too big for him to fill. /thread
So you don't think it's an homage to Slash?
-
Well ... maybe "fat" isn't the right expression ... I belive that all that volume and weight it's due to water retention (due to corticoides) ...
Nice tits ...
But ... why are you posting Slash's pics in this thread? -.-
Oh I was wondering maybe you could calculate Slash's stats.
ALso, Slash's muffin top is rock n roll.

Do you think that DJ's new hat looks more like Slash's? Is it an homage? Is it symbolic? How does it make you feel?

A Steven Adler and that guy and a backing band would blow GnR out of the water.

So you're asking for me to be banned because you don't like my posts? Who else do you want banned? Can somebody with authority put the OP in a basket, and blast him into some far-away galaxy?
K thanks.
In all fairness, you were banned once before. You just got to come back because they unbanned everyone. So maybe he just wants you re-banned. It's a subtle difference.
However, to the thread's question: I think comparing the relative happiness levels of Axl and Slash is rather puerile.

Paul Stanley is an attention whore. Of course he's going to the HoF, I'm sure he'll promote some new product be hawking the kiss edition toyota prius, or whatever. You can call Axl many things, but he is not- and has not been for quite some time- an attention whore. And so for Axl, he's willing to forego the induction and doesn't see it the same way Paul does. And let's be honest here, did anyone think attempting to force a reunion was going to work? Dumbassed move by the HoF committee, shoulda waited a couple years. And so, if anything, the HoF incident strengthened Axl's resolve. There will be no reunion.

Axl could've had a polyp on nodule on his vocal cords.

Nobody told Brian Johnson from ACDC that you can't have "rasp" when you get "old"
Brian Johnson's rasp sucks. It is unrefined compared to Axl. Anyone can sound like Brian Johnson. Go listen to some Bon Scott, his rasp was more refined and melodic.

Debut of a new raincoat?

Well that's all very dramatic, but for Axl, he's just gonna keep sweatin to the oldies.

So many people here call Axl fat, I wonder what some of you look like who say that. I guarantee that some of the people saying that are more obese than Axl.
He's got a little belly. Technically, you could call him "fat" because of it, but in reality he's just a little pudgy. People who are truly obese don't have legs like this:
Are we charging people money to watch us perform?
I know I'm not, but I can only speak for myself.
I get your point, but if he was super jolly fat yet singing with inspired strident raspy brilliance, I wouldn't care. You should know that my favorite nuGuns gig is Dublin 2010, where they threw bottles at him and for the entire show (after he left and came back), he was virtually motionless, but was killer on the vocals.

Steven must've ignored Slash's internal memo about not mentioning Axl.

It doesn't matter if any of use are more obese than Axl. None of us have millions of dollars to hire a personal trainer to get back in shape. Comparing Axl Rose to any "average Joe" is ridiculous. When you compare him to Jon Bon Jovi and/or Bruce Springsteen, than there's an argument.
"He's got a little belly," yeah, so why does he hide it? Why does he hide behind layers of clothes? For shits and giggles? He can have skinny legs but be out of shape, it's called being bloated. It in his face and his gut. Probably from medication or alcohol. Or both. When you compare him to how he was in 2006, or even 2010, he's out of shape. You can argue all you want, but it's the truth.
I'm not arguing. I'm just saying that I think people exaggerate Axl's weight, and I feel like there's amplified focus on it for no reason. If he got even fatter and sang like Pavarotti (that was a figurative statement by the way, not literal), people would be praising him. I think part of the criticism stems from his towelie voice, the lack of music, and his refusal to reunite the old band.

I'll just respond by saying this: much of what Len has said about Warrior in this thread is an exaggeration or is grossly misinformed, and ultimately many of Len's opinions in this thread are the product of lazy, inaccurate, convenient analyses, often based on partial "research" or a half-assed skimming of the surface.
Warrior was a better human being than Len has portrayed him. And that's all I really want anyone to know who reads this thread.

Oh and one more thing.
I exchanged emails with him once. I left a comment on his blog about a grammatical error or two, and I was a little snarky about it. No bullshit, he actually emailed me (because you had to leave your email to make a comment on his blog), thanking me for pointing it out, and asking if I did work professionally as a speechwriter (or something to that effect). He was very cordial and polite in our brief email exchange, and this was after I picked apart his little grammar mistakes and after I told him in the first email that I was just some wiseass on the internet. I just wanted to include that story here as an addendum to my previous post.

I guess hes gone to parts unknown now motivating my arse the guy was a delusional self obssessed racist juicehead that was almost completely talentless at what he did and right up until the point he dropped dead was considered the subject of mass ridicule.
He was not a racist. If you actually know what that term means, then you know it's not an accurate characterization. Based on some of the things people say around here, are they all racists too? Oh right, you give them a free pass because they're just "joking."
As far as him being "self obsessed," well no offense but I'd say that term is more fitting for you, actually, if your posts on this board are indication. The Warrior left the WWF and was off the radar for years. He didn't beg to be let back in. Yeah that really reeks of self-obsessed, doesn't it? He made videos and blogs to try to inspire his fans. He tried to get them to work out, read books, enlighten themselves, be philosophical. I know for a fact you haven't actually read much of his blog or seen many of his videos because of the broad strokes you're painting in a pathetic attempt to mischaracterize him.
As for him being talentless, that makes little sense. He was so talentless he captivated millions of fans? He was so talentless the WWF asked him to come back 3 times? He was so talentless that his promos were improvised? Not just anyone can do what he did. People have tried to emulate it and failed. As I said, if you had actually read his blog more thoroughly, it might dawn on you what an intelligent person he was. He had strong opinions about things and he spoke his mind. But to say he was talentless is an ignorant statement.
Since then he's been doing pretty much jackshit. I think he tried to do some kinda vague political thing there and made an absolute fool of himself, by the end of his life he seemed to be just writing his really right wing blog and looking like he was trying to make a bit of money, as if he was hard up, these motivational videos he was selling, personalised ones, for 300 dollars a pop that just involved him basically ranting at you, or selling these really naff doodles he made as his Warrior art...that no one bought
You seem to be under this delusion that he was like all the other wrestlers who were desperate to be apart of the company. I think it's pretty clear he was fine with walking away from it. What you call him "doing jackshit for years" was him living his life with his family. You seem to be partially judging him because he didn't stay in wrestling nonstop. That's because he didn't give a shit.
You "think. he tried to do some vague political thing"? The only thing vague there is that dipshit sentence. If you're not quite sure what "vague political thing" he did, then maybe you shouldn't run your mouth about it, y'know, since you fancy yourself the bastion of intellectual, rational discussion. Just a thought.
His blog may have been "right wing," but it also was strongly divergent from many right-wing idealogies.
As for the personalized videos, believe it or not, some people are inspired by him. They want to spend 300 bucks (which it seems is a lot of money for you) to be yelled at by him. Because they're fans of him.
How I know you're really out to cupcake this thread is you even took a shot at his art. "Naff doddle"? Art is subjective, but I thought his pieces were really well done. I think he had talent as a painter. And many of them did sell by the way, you would know that if you *actually* read his website and blog as you have repeatedly claimed.
As for your babbling about his intensity and him being a prick, you didn't know the man. Some of the shit you're saying here is like you just watched the Self-Destruction DVD and you think it's real. For someone who's impressed with his own intellectualism, I expect more thoughtful, accurate opinions than the shit you've offered here. There are plenty of interviews where people said he was just a regular guy. He didn't do drugs back in the day. There's something to admire about him. He may have used roids, but he was not a drinker or a drugger. I think that says something about his character.
What you're doing in this thread is in poor taste. If you want to be critical of the Warrior, that's fine, but at least do your homework and use critical thinking. You seem to be proud of doing neither here. All I can say is, when Slash dies I would hate myself and feel guilty if I was doing what you're doing here.

Axl is trolling Slash with DJ Ashba.
Seriously, I have often wondered if that is the case.
Their headgames with eachother transcend normal headgames. They're elite mind game players. You just never know.

People hate on this song, but sometimes it's nice to just listen to some straight-forward rock & roll.
