In taking a look at Axl's 2002 line-up, I must say firstly that I'm disappointed in Axl for for not retaining his 2002 line-up due to his delays etc etc. Secondly, Axl knew perfectly well what he was doing and the diverse direction of music he wanted to take that band in, unlike Slash, Duff and the rest who just wanted to lie in the rut playing hard rock instead of experimenting with diverse directions, in-depth and meaningful. Just visualise songs like Chinese Democracy, Shackler's Revenge, Better, Street Of Dreams, If The World, There Was A Time, Catcher In The Rye, Sorry, I.R.S., Madagascar, This I Love, Prostitute and all the recent leaks...a setlist primarily constructed of sorts of songs being played by Buckethead, Robin, Richard, Tommy, Dizzy and Chris, with Axl's vocals to top it off; this could have been one of the greatest and most epic bands of the modern century. Axl sure knew what he was doing...he just didn't do it wholy. If he is going to record an album again, only this time intends to do it for real, he should seek that same lineu-up, because boy they were some real talented musicians!

It's your birthday Axl! Not a young soul anymore, that's for sure!

Somebody needed to point Gn'R out for this endless touring with no material, and the Rolling Stone did it! It was completely fair-game if you ask me! The fans are paying ridiculously (hell, you could even say criminally) expensive prices just to see a band that keeps milking the cash cow by this neverending touring and what have they got to show for it? There is hardly any changes in the setlist, let alone any new material being played. I could understand if they genuinely weren't able to release an album, but at least put at least made use of the leaks just like in '06-'07, announced a tour and made it clear to the fans that they will hear new material. But what we've seen in Miami, I'd be very surprised if something did take change on the S.A. leg this March. As somebody said, the band needs a good slap on the wrists to be reminded that they are really playing their fans, and if we can get more reviews like the Rolling Stone, perhaps it will begin to affect their ticket sales to the point that they will have to do something new? Who knows, but this review is at least a starting point and I'm glad to see that finally somebody has taken some form of action. Good on you Rolling Stone!

Why? It’s a different order.
It's strange that Double Talkin' Jive is where it is in the set, if that is the actual setlist

I was watching Terminator 2 as a child when it came out and remember hearing Axl's voice and the rocking attitude of You Could Be Mine for the first time as I saw the scene when John is revving up his bike and taking off. "She's not mother Todd!" 😂 Then I was further intrigued as it was played when the boys ride in the canal, rocking out to it. Then at The ending credits of the film, when the film's title track ended and You Could Be Mine kicked in, that drumming and gusting totally took me away! Then Axl's voice adding rock n' tool venom into all this; I couldn't believe myself what I'd heard. Years down the track, as I'd take a deeper interest in Terminator 2, the track pulled completely took me away, as I would play the film's ending day after day on an endless basis, until I'd finally purchase most Gn'R CDs, yet still remain obsessively playing You Could Be Mine over and over again and it remains by far my favourite Gn'R song; I'll spend part of my spare time finding quality live versions to listen to repetitively.

Perfect Crime would be a great opener if you ask me; it's short, energetic & blasts through, delivering that seriously fast-paced no-screwing-around-here rock n' roll attitude right within the core of the fans!
Paradise City is fine for a closer, however to the fans wanting something more in-depth & mindblowing, I'd pick Coma for a perfect candidate! To finish the night with such an epic & thematic tune, I couldn't possibly ask for more.

Oh god I wasn't expecting THAT haha but hey...I guess you learn something new and valuable each day?

Why exactly is Frank called "Thunderchucker" if his drumming has been described as "Toe-Tapping"? Personally, I don't think that he's a bad drummer or anything & in 2009-2010 he did go a fair bit harder. All I see missing in his drumming are a thunderous sound to his kit & that extra bit of force he gave, but perhaps that's due to years upon years of not playing original material?

My favourite Gn'R song! I remember obsessively watching it in the ending credits of T2 countless times, and nowadays as a spare-time obsession I search for high quality fan recorded versions from this last tour
Here's an ass-kicking quality one I found:

time to bring back dead horse!
Your wish is a really good one I must say, but given its probability of taking place, you're beating a dead horse

Alrighty, my first post in a while, here we we go:
AFD: Welcome To The Jungle / Think About You
Lies: Patience / Used To Love Her
UYI I: Coma / Bad Apples
UYI II: Estranged or You Could Be Mine / My World
CD: There Was A Time / Riad N' The Bedouins
Ps. I left out The Spaghetti Incident? for it is a purely covers album -
I'm a big follower of ambient/electronic/space music, that sort of music that is mentally, psychologically and spiritually deepening. Buckethead being a guitarist, I hadn't thought that it is possible to make such music with a guitar, for most I had listened to are/were produced electronically ie Enigma, Bjoern Lynne. Nonetheless, after listening to Buckethead's take on such music, I am beyond amazed! This is ambience in such mellow fashion that it is beyond soul-soothing

The song has incredible depth and emotion to it; Axl really did manage to convey what it was that he wanted to come across through this song, to the fans, to the world, and to that one particular person. It is one of his babies and given its good performances on this tour, I'm glad that it's been retained as a setlist standard for sometime now.

Here is a picture of the longest lasting Guns N' Roses Guitarist Ever and Slash.
What a pair. Which makes me wonder whether Richard anything to do with Slash's return, given how much Slash liked his style as a guitarist that he tried to recruit him years back.

I really think that they could open with Shadow Of Your Love, Then It's So Easy. Great set up song with a lot of energy.
I agree 100%

That's pretty cool and happy for the South Africans! I love the artsy venue that Gn'R will be playing at!

The setlist that was posted in the forum is almost certain to not be the setlist for this leg of the tour. Pretty sure it's just the set from the Forum last year with a couple songs blacked out. There's every chance they will play Shadow of Your Love, and you'd think it would be a bit silly of them not too given they just released it as a single.
Let's hope it isn't the upcoming setlist and that we do get some refreshments, Shadow Of Your Love included! -
I personally like it - quite vivacious, has a groovy rhythm to it. More or less stands for what Gn'R were in their early days. Pity it seemingly won't make it into the setlist; Axl could easily pull this number off and many fans would feel reinvigorated by it alone.

Street of Dreams/The Blues is the perfect song for this line-up to perform, painful to see the setlist not change at all
In my opinion,
Drop
Estranged
Catcher in the Rye
Sorry
This I Love
YesterdaysAdd
Shadow of Your Love (promote the damn single)
Bad Obsession (would be easy on Axl's vocals)
Locomotive (awesome track)
Street of Dreams
If The World
I.R.S.
Goin' Down
That's quite a vivacious selection to add!
With the helpful suggestions from Gackt, here is my idea for a setlist:
It's So Easy
Mr. Brownstone
Shadow Of Your Love
If The World
Welcome To The Jungle
Double Talkin' Jive
Better
Estranged
Live And Let Die
Rocket Queen
You Could Be Mine
Street Of Dreams
Civil War
Locomotive
Sweet Child O' Mine
November Rain
Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Nightrain
I.R.S.
Prostitute

Just another case of people trying to erase history in this overly political correct world. Unless it is a rap song with racial lyrics about white people.. That is ok...
Clearly that is not a "politically correct world" but an anti-white world we live in.

If this is played live on tour it would be an excellent choice!

He claims he was originally supposed to play on all the AFD and Lies songs at every show and Frank would play everything else. I have a feeling he was lying though, or not understanding his role correctly. I don't know. It sounds too fishy to me.
It does sound quite fishy I do remember reading somewhere that he flew so many thousands of kilometres, without first consulting with the band, then appearing at gigs & forcibly requesting to perform a song or two with the band, at which Axl was annoyed/irritable, but allowed out of guilt at the thought of denying him after so much effort of travel. Knowing this, I would be beyond certain that Frank was the meant-to-be drummer & Steven was just thrown in for a few random appearances. Other than that, my personal feeling about Steven is that he's just stuck in the past & hasn't in any way evolved with drumming; he was perfect for Appetite For Destruction, but past this point his style has shown to be outdated.

My one disappointment in Axl
in CIVIL WAR

No I had too many to mention, but this one was one worth going out of my way to mention here to everybody. You'll never get to the bottom of disappointments in Axl They just keep growing and growing and forming and reforming; there's no such thing as an end!
