notes: Opening night of the UYI tour!!! At the start of 'Right Next Door To Hell,' Matt begins to play 'Mr. Brownstone' by accident! After 'Mr. Brownstone,' Axl says, "This is a pretty bitchin' place for me to open the tour, being that uh, I'm a hick-ass motherfucker midwesterner myself so... this is a song that uh, we wrote long before we wrote Mr. Brownstone. It's kind of the same, it's something called Bad Obsession." Before 'Double Talkin' Jive,' Axl explains how he injured his foot and how his doctors helped him out. Axl yells a big "Goddamn" during 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door." Also during the song he tells the crowd that they are louder than the crowds of 140,000 they had at Rock In Rio II!

This was the show almost every G N' R fan was waiting for. Start of a new tour with a new album coming up several months later. Wich new songs would they play and how would these songs sound was one of the many questions that came up to me. I remembering watching MTV News almost every day to got updated about what was happening in the world of G N' R. Realy great times.

"No I came here to see Willie Nelson"

    :rofl-lol:

  2. I was searching around youtube for some Guns stuff and I found this interview. At about 2:50 Axl starts talking about how there was a hit put on him to have him shot.

Anybody know anything else about it? I never heard that story before and i'm pretty shocked after hearing it.

  3. In the past the band members went their separate ways.

There was always a sense they would join up again some day.

Even if things were quite, we knew Axl was working on CD.

Now that CD is out, and been out for quite some time - and some of those that worked on it parted ways - and Axl burnt his bridges with Slash 100%

..all that remained was hired hands.

Since the release of CD, there's been no video, no real radio air play, no real single as such, a manager who quit, and a mini tour feat. Slash impressionist Dj Ash, without whom the tour could never have happend.

All that's left now is a 50 year old Axl and his on going legal stuff.

Other than the ego trip Rio gig, will there ever be another tour? ..if so, what does Axl get out of touring with a cover band? on the pretense he's doing it for the fans, keeping the GN'R legacy alive (because Izzy, Adler, Slash, Duff can't be bothered to - which we all know is rubbish) all the while single handedly destroying it :shrugs:

    you wish!

  4. I don't recall gnr purposely trying to look like chicks just to get noticed.

Glam is one thing, trying to fool people into thinking that you're another sex is another...

    /thread

Also listen to the music and the message each band sends out and get back to me on that one.

  5. James was just pissed about the whole "upstaged" thing at Montreal, and probably pissed about being called a racist so he decided to poke fun at Axl.

In the long run I dont think that video really shows the the true relationship between the two bands as according to Lars all members of Metallica love Chinese Democracy and Lars made a guest spot in OTGM in 06 in Oakland.

  6. Kurt Loder called Axl a drugie in an interview not too long ago. I was surprised, but iam sure Axl saw that too. Look at Kayne on the today show, the media is a twisted beast with sick energy. Axl doesnt need the media at all. No musical artist of Axl"s stature needs the shit those people put out. I love the fact Axl doesnt do interviews. The Del interview was very good and said plenty if you read between the lines

"Well, I think Axl is a little out of control, which is the way you should be if you're going to be a big rock star with the limos and all that," Loder said. "You should be out of control, and you should never know what's going to happen next, so I thought that was great. That doesn't happen at that level any more, because I think bands arrive at that level with all kinds of attorneys and handlers and stuff. They sort of pose as rebels, but they're not dangerous. Nothing's going to happen around them. Whereas with Axl, you never knew. Because I think he was on drugs or something, I don't know. He was a very talented guy. He could be very, very nice, and he could all of a sudden be prickly. So, it was always interesting to be around him."

    thats not insulting really...

  7. After recording myself playing Paranoid and singing I realized just how terrible of a singing voice I have. Maybe its just partially me not realizing what I sound like, but its pretty fucking terrible. Anyone else go through something like this?

Yeah. was that the first time you've heard yourself sing? but keep in mind the more u sing the more you can bring out the best qualities of your voice, if there are any haha

  8. I apologize in advance for the long-winded music theory teacher answer...

Yes...it's in the key of F# major.

    So, the verse would be: F# C# a#m; F# C# B; F# C# a#m; F# C# B.

The chorus, solo sections, and bridge/telephone rant would be: F# C# B (played 4x).

The solo is mostly major pentatonic, but it does hit the 4th and 7th scale degrees, so it really is just the major scale (F# G# A# B C# D# E# F#).

If you don't like thinking in sharps, it can also be thought of as Gb Major. The verse is: Gb Db abm; Gb Db Cb; Gb Db abm; Gb Db Cb. The chorus, solo, and telephone rant is: Gb Db Cb. The solo would be in Gb Major (Gb Ab Bb Cb Db Eb F Gb).

    Hope this helps!

    thanks man!

  9. This is in the wrong section I know, move it after I get a few resonses.

My question is what key is KOHD in (the Guns N Roses version G D C) if I'm playing it in standard tuning, not tuned down half a step like on the album?

Playing it at a show tomorrow so I need some responses tonight.

  10. Nope not all.

In fact, I think we'll see more Rebecca Blacks in the near future; Her video cost, what...about $2000. I have a feeling a lot of parents are thinking, "this would be great birthday or x-mas gift, for my little girl."

yes you may have parents doing that for their kids and there may be more videos like that in the future BUT they will not go into the mainstream. this video, as shitty a song it was and a joke of a video it was, is original. so you wont have future rebecca blacks going mainstream.

  11. Certainty a possibility. It might make some of the people who listened to manufactured pop think for a moment. But I doubt those people will entirely change their musical genres tastes because of it.

And lets get something clear, the reason why it has so much popularity is because it is a joke, not because people think its a good song. Sure u have the 1 percent of 8 year old girls that actually like it but thats it.
