  1. My favourite band are touring and are relevant again.

New music can wait until next year.

which band is it you are talking about being relevant?

Certainly not GNR. GnR is far from relevant at this in point in time. Honestly, the only people that even know they are touring are people on message boards, and people that have been to any recent shows...other than that...nadda..

I have talked to people that are fans of this "bands" music, and have had no idea that they were playing a show anywhere near their locale.

Yes,they are far from relevant, maybe with the RORHOF,but unless this lineup put an OUTSTANDING record, they will stay in this status.CD was a good album, but far from illusions an appettite.

What they need is a kick ass new album (complete with promotion, music video's, and a tour) and they'll be a big band again.

Okay, we'll if your hoping for world domination, then that's not exactly what I meant. Rock Music is no longer the commercial juggernaught it once was, we all know that.

I could care less if GN'R appear on American Idol/X-Factor.

As for "the only people that even know they are touring are people on message boards, and people that have been to any recent shows", I can tell you from the shows I've been to, that is total crap.

    • World Tour
    • MTV Interview
    • Frequest Single/Double-Page interview reports/live show reviews/RRHOF spread in Classic Rock Magazine (UK)
    • Live streams
    • Positive show reviews regularly in the press/on the web

I want new music as much as the next guy, but I also remember the silence. The nothingness.

    This is better.

    agreed...this is better...

but that doesn't change the fact that the only people that know they are on tour right now are people that have been to the shows, or people on these online forums. Locally where I am, GNR is getting recognition for RRHOF on the radio etc...pretty much daily, but not once has it been mentioned that the band is on tour, and on fire during this performances. and yes, rock and roll isnt the juggernaught it once was as you said, but lets face it even nickelback "shudders" is even still bigger than this band, at this point, whether we the fans of Gnr like it or not.

  3. Wow that was intense! I just got back from Jamaica and coming back to this was a pleasant surprise! And for all those who thought Civil War and Estranged would never be played again lol Now bring back COMA (and TWAT)!!!

Was Civil War on the RIR setlist?

Nope, it wasn't listed on any of the tour set lists. It won a Facebook poll about what song we'd like to hear live and they rehearsed it over the course of a few sound checks. Sounds like they've been playing it for years!

what other songs were on this poll?

    CD2

Axl should release a working title for the cd like Anthony Keidis did last week for the up coming RHCP album:

" Dr. Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head"

  4. I think it's like a game of Jenga: You take a sub bass from the bottom and you put it on top; you take an MPC 2000 beat from the middle and you put it on top; and then you take 8 Axl vocals from all over and you put them on top. You play this game for a decade with 10 or more people, and then you release Chinese Democracy.

that was actually pretty fuckin funny

  5. edmonton show was better

    why?

the sound is way better in rexall place than in the saddledome, saddledome doesnt have the best sound in there because of the shape of the building. Rexall Place is one of the best venues for sound quality at concerts. that is pretty much the only reason the edmonton show was better. That and axl fucked up the lyrics to scom in Calgary, but thats not such a big deal.

  6. play her This I Love,

    /thread.

He wants to win her over not drive her away

true, TIL might make her break into the Sarah Marshall Dracula song

that song reminds me more of street of dreams than it does this I love.

  7. As we all know, DJ turned 38 a few days ago, but he looks like he is almost in his early mid 20`...

    What is his secret...

Axl looks his age, but some other rockstars still look young at his age...

Is it all genes, the right doctors, Stress, ect...

Hell maybe the whole band breakup and Ex wife and a ex girlfriend did not help uncle Axl look youthful

    early-mid 20's? your a retard.
