  2. I can´t believe that in 2013 ( almost 2014) my country is going back in time and the debate is again taking place. IMO, I think I would have the baby but I support the right to choose. I think that a woman in that position suffers and it´s not an easy decision when they have to choose whether they want to have the baby or not.

But what makes it more ridiculous is the government´s hypocrisy. They want women to have disabled kids yet they have cut drastically all the financial help disabled people received. They don´t care of disabled kids, they don´t care of their therapies, wheel chairs, expensive medical treatments...

back in 2011, everybody knew that if rajoy won there was going to be a new abortion law because it was part of the electoral program, so we can only blame the people who voted for that party. :shrugs:

Libra (1988) is a novel written by Don DeLillo. It focuses on the life of Lee Harvey Oswald and offers a speculative account of the events that shaped the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

The book takes the reader from Oswald's early days as a child, to his adolescent stint in the US Marine Corps, through his brief defection to the USSR and subsequent marriage to a Russian girl, and finally his return to the US and his role in the assassination of Kennedy.

In DeLillo's version of events, the assassination attempt on Kennedy is in fact intended to fail; the plot is instigated by disgruntled former CIA operatives who see it as the only way to guide the government to war on Cuba.

awesome book! certainly the best about jfk's assassination.

I think jfk was using his popularity to do crazy shit like pull out of vietnam.

it probably had more to do with cuba than with vietnam. a lot of anticastristas (especially americans who had financial interests in cuba) felt betrayed by jfk's attitude towards cuba after the bay of pigs failed invasion......

    This thread is hilarious.

The Axl worshippers get so angry if anything positive is said about Slash. And for some reason, they feel that the best way to justify (make excuses) for Axl's failures is by bashing and insulting Slash - somebody who hasn't been in the band for 16 years.

The Ribfest that people keep making fun of, do you actually know what it is??? It's a CHARITY to raise money towards trying to end child abuse and domestic violence. So Axl plays a wedding strictly for cash and at a bowling alley - and that's awesome and killer and shows that he is still the number one rock star in the world. But Slash plays a charity event that benefits those afflicted by domestic violence and child abuse, and you people make fun of it???? Unbelievable.

And lol at the clowns who are now discounting overall album sales as a sign of popularity or relevance, but are instead breaking it down by albums sold by country? And discounting the US sales, even though both bands are American bands!!!!! Vel Revolver sold way more albums in America than GnR (Axl's version) did. OVERALL TOTAL SALES...........VR won that battle as well. Cut it up anyway you'd like. Who sold more overall albums? Slash.

So comparing Axl and Slash, post classic line-up.

Slash wins in pretty much every category that isn't based on who is YOUR personal favorite.

In a band setting: VR outsold GnR. Also received more critical success. Released more albums, sold more copies, had more hits, won a grammy.

In a solo setting: Slash wins. Slash released more albums, sold more albums, did better on tour numbers, had more hits.

Pretty dominating numbers. Axl is my favorite rock singer, but I can still admit that Slash has been immensely more popular, successful and respected than Axl has over the past 16 years. Which is almost unheard of in a guitar player -vs- singer competition. And sad, because Axl could have blown Slash away during the last 16 years. All he had to do is release a few albums and do the occasional interview. Instead, Beta and Axl chose to not go that route - and we, the fans, get ONE album.

Course, Axl worshippers will say all the things that Slash does are bad. Interviews, communicating with fans, putting out albums, playing with other artists, playing at charity events to help child abuse victims............ya, Slash really should follow Axl's lead instead. WE all would hate it if Axl did all those things.

Every day I thank the rock n roll Gods that Axl doesn't release music on a consistent basis, that he doesn't do interviews, that he doesn't communicate with fans and that he doesn't perform with lots of other musicians. Thank fully, Axl doesn't do any of those terrible things.

great post. unsurprisingly it's been ignored by axl's nutswingers.

  6. before it was released, cd had a certain mystique and could be considered as cult.

after it's been released, the album was so disappointing that it's impossible to consider that it has achieved a cult status. the most anticipated and most expensive album ever was a big flop. not cult.

cd reached cult status 15 years ago

and lost that status after it was released.

  7. Replaying Dishonoured. One of my favourite games in recent years.

I always find the mark of a good stealth game is if I find myself literally spend several bloody-minded hours replaying certain sections in order to ghost through it and enjoying doing so.

    Dishonored ticked that box.

check out thief, it's similar to dishonored.

  8. shock corridor (directed by samuel fuller)

    breezy (by clint eastwood)

land and freedom (by ken loach)

gun crazy (by joseph h. lewis)

    serie noire (by alain corneau)

The first three are wonderful movies, especially shock corridor :)

gun crazy and serie noire are incredible too

gun crazy is an anthem to mad love and crazy rebellion... that's how people should love and live.. and that's how films should be made!

several films as bonnie and clyde (arthur penn), breathless (godard) or badlands (terence malick) tried to capture the essence of that little film noir, but i'm not sure that they succeeded...
