I just listened to the whole thing and didn't hear any Slayer... ?

It may have been in another solo then, it definitely happened. Being a guitar player and huge jam band head I feel as though I'm quite good at picking out teases like that. Very confident it happened at some point

yeah, those videos appeared on different promo dvd's from Geffen for UYI. places like Tower Records and Wherehouse Music had all kinds of rare promo stuff.

Brownstone and Michelle were filmed at the Pantages show on May 11, 1991. not sure where the stage performance of YCBM was filmed, but it wasn't at the Pantages.

there were 3 'secret' warm-up theatre shows in early May 1991 before the UYI tour officially kicked off - S.F. (Warfield), L.A. (Pantages), and NYC (Ritz).. each are about 2,000 capacity venues, though the Ritz has been closed for years now.

The Ritz is still open..just called Webster Hall now, it's one of the most ridiculous places I have ever been..

  3. Any other AUD recordings out there? Lot of audience talking/singing on the copy I have...I fully appreciate it and it's listenable..and I have laughed every time I hear the dude go "PINK FLOYD IS HERE?!?! DUDE PINK FLOYD IS HERE!" at the beginning of Wish You Were Here hahah, but are there any other copies out there?

  4. Feel free to move/delete if necessary, I've been around this forum for a while so I'm sorry for just throwing this post out there.

Am I the only one who is wondering why the hell Colorado is getting no love on this tour? They are seemingly hitting every pit of the country yet absolutely nothing out here...I'm pretty bummed.

Anyone heard anything about a potential show at Mile High?

  5. Have spent the last hour watching all of the videos I can find from last night and hot damn do they sound fucking killer! Coma was sick. I can't believe how good Axl sounds..trying to decide if it;s because he wasnt moving like that Dublin show where he was pissed..or because he's really just nailing it right now. Hell ya!

it would be interesting if we could get a demographic survey (w/ charts) of the GNR fans here even if it was from this online forum. Surprisingly I've been in contact w/ YOUNG guns...like Uni/highschool kids who are re-discovering GNR. I agree, I too am making the assumption that most fans are blue collar in thier early 40s...but then again all the friends of mine who are going to thier show w/ me are Univeristy grads in thier 30s...so I guess you never can tell...

Im a 23 year old fan who has been on this forum for years and following Guns pretty avidly since 06, obviously im fucking stoked as hell to see the boys back together sans Izzy and Popcorn, but its still something I never imagined I'd get to see..and here I am trying to figure out how im going to fly out of Denver to Phoenix for the AZ gig, get a room, and a ticket.... Don't know how, but luckily I have a full time job and will hopefully be there in a few months. The prices are definitely exponentially higher than the tickets I buy to see music around CO all year long..im at Red Rocks 3 weekends out of the month all summer long and one ticket to this tour is worth about 4 red rocks shows.

Wishing I didnt bank on them announcing a CO show though, should have scooped tix for Vegas months ago and just done the damn thing.

  7. AFD: Rocket Queen

"No one needs the sorrow, no one needs the pain. I'd hate to see you walking out there in the rain. So don't chastise me or think I mean you harm. Of those that take you, leave you strung out much too long"

Just a very real line. Obviously one of the best parts of appetite, so real.

    Lies: One In A Million

"It's been such a long time since I knew right from wrong. It's all the means to an end I'm, I keep it moving along"

Great song, wish Axl could pull OIM out live

    UYI1: Coma

"And it's so easy to be social, it's so easy to be cool. Yeah, it's easy to get hungry, when you ain't got shit to lose"

    Coma fucking rules.

    UYI2: Locomotive

"When you won't take the love I have to give

I bought me an illusion and I put it on the wall

I let it fill my head with dreams

And I had to have them all

But oh the taste is never so sweet

As what you'd believe it is

Well I guess it never is"

Probably my favorite Axl lyric, and one of my overall favorites of all time

    CD: There Was A Time

"Yeah, there was a time. Didn't wanna know it all. Didn't wanna know it all and, I don't wanna know it now"

    CD's best song, love it

  8. All I'm saying is those guys are always pathetic just in the way they try to chat celebs up, I mean, I guess its with good intentions but just like "oh are you guys touring?" and other fake small talk all the time from those people would just bug the hell out of me hahah, maybe just my personality.

    Whatever.

I can agree that Axl definitely handled it well, given his history :rofl-lol:

  9. Can we all agree that the paparazzi might be just be the grimiest scummiest low lifes out there? "Oh sorry for filming you Axl I just need to make my money" ..dude, your job is to film another human going about the most TRIVIAL of tasks for no reason what so ever, you chose that job. You chose it.

Only when they push & shove & annoy the people going about their day. He didn't say he needed to make money at all if thats what you're implying. He said thanks & he would leave him alone now.

Axl & Beta were more than happy to be filmed as long as they weren't interfered with - good manners will get you everywhere.

I thought I heard him say right after his apology that he "just has to make his money" or something, maybe I simply misheard him was all
