  1. I had a ton of Maiden friends at Hellfest this weekend, and so far I've read nothing but great comments about GN'R on Facebook from all of them :)

That's cool. Looks like they went out on time which always helps the sentiment!! :)

Yea, even a lot of people that give Guns/Axl a bunch of shit were really impressed, so I was glad to see that. Gonna have to give some of them a hard time when we get down to Charlotte this week for the tour opener :tongue2:

Notice if they have to cut a show short they never cut out the solo spots. Gotta have those!

"I'm going to see GNR tonight and I can't wait to hear Dizzy's solo!" --- No one ever.

I actually think Dizzy has the best solo out of anyone ...

The crowd interaction is great dude Baba, especially if you've seen the version from the 2012 Ritz bootleg

    Loved it in Worcester.

Call me crazy, but Dizzy's solo at The Ritz was honestly one of the highlights of that show for me. It was really magical to get the whole venue singing, and you could tell Dizzy absolutely loved it! :)

It's fantastic, that version. The small room definitely makes it that much better too

  3. Seen Fleetcenter '02 in Boston, Worcester MA '06, and Worcester MA '11.

Worcester 2011 was the best in my opinion, although we got Down On The Farm in '06, we got Scraped in '11 and overall it was a better show and the sound was much better. We were also in the front row.

  4. Axl sang "with your ass in the air" in YCBM ..last time I remember him doing that was with Duff in Seattle. Got me thinking, could that be an old little inside joke from the original lineup? Well obviously it has always been a joke as it isnt the actual lyrics, but maybe theres a story to go with it, interesting

  5. Glad to see other people my age having similar experiences with GnR, not all hope is lost!

And I strongly agree with those saying how GnR's sound, especially on Appetite just isnt "old" sounding ..I can't put my finger on it, but there's nothing else like it, and nothing else coming out like it, and I love it, and all of Guns catalog, especially ChiDem.

  6. Well I'm 19, at college, and completely agree with you about GnR's relevance in our age group, it's essentially zilch and nada other than kids who are musicians.

But my dad brought me to the Fleetcenter show in Boston in '02 when I was 10, he was about 31 when Appetite came out, so he was on the older edge of their fans, hes more into bands like Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Journey, Foreigner, Allman Brothers, but he wanted to see Axl's come back. I had a great time, but it wasnt until probably 2 years after that when I really got into them as I got deeper into playing guitar as well. I bought Appetite and played it nonstop on my old walkman (remember those things? ..so weird to me now that you could only listen to 12-17 songs unless you wanted to switch CD's haha) then that christmas I asked for the rest of the catalog, Lies, Illusions, the Spaghetti Incident? and Live Era, and I've been hooked, literally obsessed, since then.

One of my best friends Marc is about a year younger than me, we have the exact same tastes in music, Guns, 90's alt rock, some new stuff, lotta old rap and the good rap thats out there now (Kanye, Cudi, Jay-Z and so on) then some country and im also a big drumNbass/dubstep/house fan (not fucking Skrillex.), he's been my concert buddy persay since we were both 15 and 14. We went to Guns in '06 in Worcester MA with my brother in law, then just saw Guns again last time they were around in November in Worcester, waited 5 1/2 hours outside the doors this past time to be front row, best show I've ever been to (Bassnectar a close 2nd.)

But basically, I still listen to everything in the Guns catalog on a reasonably regular basis, actually just listened to Appetite all the way through 2 nights ago on my drive from my moms to my dads house as it's the perfect length for the drive haha.

There's not a time when I see myself not enjoying Guns, they werent from my time but they shaped my teenage years and my personality pretty heavily and I hold them a notch above everyone else in my musical tastes, and music is a pretty big deal to me in my life.

  7. As I said in the "do you love what GnR has done this year thread"

I'm not pleased with the constant cycle of rumors/touring/nothing/touring/rumors, but because im obsessed with this band, I'd absolutely go see them again.

I actually just bought tickets today for Slash in Boston in August at the House of Blues, I saw him twice in VR and last year on his solo tour, but I'm pumped to see him again, puts on a great show, not to mention GA Floor Tix for his show are $45 cheaper than my floor tix to GnR in Worcester back in November

  8. Well ..US later this year is about as unconfirmed as unconfirmed gets ..this is still Gn'R. I'd go see them again without a doubt but thats only because of my weird obsession with this band.

But to be completely honest, I'm getting sick of the same vicious cycle. Tour, rumors about album, "we're getting into the studio" ..then you hear nothing, then Tour with rumors of new legs being added in other parts of the world on this tour, tour ends, hiatus with no mention of fucking anything.

It's the same old cycle, what the fuck is the deal with this band and just getting out NEWS, or SOMETHING. Give me SOMETHING. A single twitter picture of the guys, or just Axl, recording in a studio with "working on the new single for November!" ..like basically every other fucking band in the world does would make me ejaculate, everywhere.

The thing is, news like the hypothetical piece I suggested above is run of the mill for any successful big band, and those normal bands fans will say "oh cool, they're getting together some new stuff for us" ..yet us Gn'R fans would probably shut down sectors of the internet, which has happened. My point is, that SHOULDN'T be such a big deal, but with this band, they never give us anything.

I just want something. I want new Guns N' Roses music.

So to be honest, no I'm not even near loving what Guns has done this year, because it's the same "vicious cycle" as stated above

    Just my two cents

  9. Only thing that irks me is this guy calling GnR Hair Metal/Power Rock ..when they are a Blues Hard Rock band

Other than that, he's got a great point, although I think I can see his ego all the way from here, seems kind of like a pretentious douchebag

That Hair Metal/Power Rock line annoyed me too and the writer seems to be full of himself but I kept on reading and he made a good point regardless.

Exactly, "full of himself" = "pretentious douchebag" hahaha

Seems like the kind of guy that thinks The Black Keys are the best thing since sliced bread, great band, I love em' but thats the vibe I get

  11. I understand why my thread about the letter was closed, but god forbid I make a thread comparing a normally functioning band (Green Day) who is dropping a trilogy soon, to Guns, and boom, shut down for what ..criticizing?

All I want is a civil answer, please.

  12. Billy Joe Armstrong confirmed via twitter tonight that Green Day has a trilogy coming out. My buddy is a MASSIVE GD fan, personally, I just like Dookie, but he's the one who told me about this.

    https://twitter.com/#!/bjaofficial

He's absolutely pumped, but honestly, I'd literally be on his same level of excitement if Guns simply tweeted "we're hitting the studio to record next week, first single will be out on June 31st" ..that's literally such minimal information for a band to give out, such minimal news for any normal band. But for us Guns fans, that'd be a fuckin revelation.

So the question is, why the hell can't we just have a normally functioning band, Axl?

  13. Made a rant in a thread too, and this is something I would've liked to add, I wouldn't have a problem with him declining and all that shit, if the new band was actually doing ANYTHING, REMOTELY PRODUCTIVE, AT ALL.

  14. Per Axl...

"But hey if ya gotta then maybe we can get the "no show, grandstanding, publicity stunt, disrespectful, he doesn't care about the fans" crap out of the way as quickly as we can and let's move on."

He very evidently doesn't, as much as he likes to say he does.

  15. I love Guns N' Roses. All incarnations.

Axl Rose, love the guys music.

But the one, true thing that really fucking irks me about that letter, isn't that he isn't showing up at the ceremony, it isn't that there won't be a reunion, I had no hopes of them playing anyway.

The one thing that bugs me, is this:

"I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N' Roses to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame."

So, Guns N' Roses will be in the Hall Of Fame, well, 4/5th's of GnR, which is ridiculous. Especially when the one missing member, is the only guy still fucking using the name, touring as the band, and has put out a record under the bands name.

So, Dexter, Mr. Bailey, W. Axl Rose, you can go fuck yourself. Show your band members, your fans of 25+ years, just a little, tiny bit of respect (which you've had a history of not giving a fuck about anyway, so I don't even know why I'm mad) and try to avoid being a selfish, outrageous douchebag.

    Sincerely,

A Guns N' Roses fan ..who just wishes you could grow the fuck up.

Now put out a god damn record. Or song, or even the Better video.
