  1. I will donate what I can to the Red Cross for helping people in Chile with the earthquake aftermath if the band plays ESTRANGED during their concert in the country. I ask every fan out there to support that idea and make a donation too. If enough fans get on board maybe Axl will associate the song with something good rather than hurt and the band has no reason to feel like a jukebox either. If the amount is big enough, maybe it will even get some good press for the band and promote the tour. Everybody wins. C'mon let's just bury the hatchet everyone and support this.

  2. The smallest where they'll play in South America. This stage will be used in Brasilia and Belo Horizonte, it was supposed to be used in Porto Alegre too, but the production decided to change the venue so they could use the new and huge stage, that will be also used in São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro.

It's gonna be a great show regardless the size of the stage. Those asian shows on the small stage were not too shabby now were they? :D

I'm excited about the setlist and I'm not even on the same continent...lol.. the updates make a night of computer work a lot lighter over here.

  3. One thing I've noticed (not that it isn't obvious) is the latest ways bands are reaching out and keeping in contact with fans. We have the ability of direct yet hands off contact here on message forums, twitter ... clips of daily activities via Youtube or video links. It's more possible now to get correct information directly from the band to it's fans. Do you see an infux of more of this coming in the future, leaving out various publications that acted as a middle-man .... or do you still see publications, magazines, news clips and interviews as being a necessary form of communication?

I think there is a HUGE flipside to the benefits of Twitter, YouTube and stuff and that's fragmentation. You don't have it all in one place or from one source anymore, you have to look all over the internet to collect your own news and stuff. Consumes a lot of time and opens doors for bullshit too. On the other hand, the info is less censored and filtered, more direct and sometimes more personal.

15 years ago I would have laughed in your face if you told me I was having e-mail chats with rock stars. But the times they are a changing. It takes away from the mystique status but it makes it more personal. Every thing has two sides. I think it's great the band is using "new" media but a somewhat more concentrated promotion and communication (official website instead of individual channels by each member) could sometimes be better.
