I agree with you there but once again it doesnt answer the question asked? I see its difficult to get intelligent answers from people here without falling into the old oh axls great at everything he does horse shit. I never said he sounds like shit i only asked why the highs have changed a little. If you would have read anything you would have noticed i said he sounds great.

Its not all Axl worship, its more about the fact that a 49 year old rock singer can be forgiven for not sounding exactly like he did when he was 19/29/39 etc.

Life takes its toll, especially the R n'R life style. Ronnie James Dio (RIP), Steve Tyler and Axl Rose are examples of singers who really take care of their voices and manage to sound killer at (In Tyler/Dio's case well past) middle age - made more impressive considering their vocal styles/ranges.

Hetfield/Coverdale/Neil/Stanley all have weaker voices now then at their prime, some styles such as Mustain are able to hide age better than others.

Axl sounds amazing as ever and hopfully this will continue for a good few years to come.

Because he's 49, move on.

this is getting silly. They currently play a 3 hour show that covers the main part of AFD and most of CD, plus a bit of middle era. They are in no way a nostalgia act, they just play a fucking long show that allows them to play tonnes of old stuff.

Them and US are very lucky

After seeing him live, he's a great showman and interacts with the crowd way better than Slash did when I saw him live. (Not that I'm trying to drag Slash into this)

but in a very tryhard way. It all looks very rehearsed/put-on.

I agree to a point, but i know one thing for certain............when you're standing there at 11pm and the crowd have been getting wrestless for the past hour, the moment when the lights go down and the flaming/revolving GN'R logo appears on screen and the pre recorded palm mute intro to Chin Dem starts up is truly spine chilling! There is no better intro than that!
