  1. a lot of music fans in general seem to despise GN'R. i never really understood it personally, but i do think part of it falls on the fact that they hold a pop culture perception as a band that was cool at first, blew up and imploded and axl has a bad image as as asshole. so people just like to bag on them. it sucks because to me they're one of the top rock bands ever in the grand scheme of things, up there with the who, the stones, the beatles, etc.

There is a percentage of rockers that are "100% rockers" in the sense that they don't listen and despise any other kind of music. I can't be the only one who has noticed this, right? It's not the majoirty but they exist. And I think these people are not the kind of people that have GNR as their favourite band (if they even like it). So my reply was thinking in that. Why so many threads about rap? Because it's a GNR board, i.e. a more varied audience. I have the impression that if it was a forum about other rock band, maybe it wouldn't be so much fans of rap or other styles.

But yes, you're right ER. The thing with Guns is that the kind of rockers I mentioned didn't respect it because there were even teenage girls loving the band. But at the same time they were too rockish for the general audience. Therefore, a lot of dislike for Guns coming from everywhere. And here we are, a bunch of weirdos talking about it all day long.

  2. I always found odd that people laugh at you when you talk about AC/DC on a forum about a rock band but I think GNR is the typical rock band that rockers don't like or at least that has a wider audience.

They were popular everywhere, they sounded on the radio, they were on MTV and Axl was cute. So there you go.

    And I don't understand rap.

  3. It has to be Dracula (The 1931 one with Bela Lugosi). I was just a little kid when I watched it for first time and I literally had nighmares during several days. Also, Chucky for the same reason.

Nowadays I have the same problem that Manets mentioned: too spoiled to get scared and surprised, even with the most controversial and disturbing movies. "Saw", only the first one, was one of the last horror movies that really surprised me.

  4. How about some awesome, non-gay wrestling moments that don't involve people getting horribly injured?

FYI. When people fight for real they don't have to stamp their feet on the floor to make a noise when they punch somebody.

FYI: Every wrestling fan is well aware of all of the little things that they do in the ring and you're not breaking any ground by going LOL DID U KNOW ITZ FAKE

No shit!! Are you telling me it's not real?!

  5. Yeah, but the percentage of concert goers who go primarily to see half naked guys with bulges in their pants (and not to see a live performance of music they enjoy), is negligible, whereas the amount of people that go to a WWF "match" to see strutting, oiled, muscle men grapple and mount each other in acts of dominance is, well, all of them.

Why do you think you know why people go to see wrassling?

Are you saying they don't go there to see flamboyant parade around flexing their muscles and play-fight in an overdose of masculinity? Do they go for the popcorn?

Out of the closet, typing is easier. ;)

    Awesomeness.

Nobody's saying that wrestlers aren't extremely talented and well honed athletes. Simply that the endeavour in itself looks bent as a butcher's hook!

same could be said about going to a rock concert in which 90 percent of the audience are male to see guys half naked with bulges in their pants....

Again, that's what you see in wrassling, don't generalize. And get out of the closet.
