Really? You're 100% certain of that? I'm not an authority on this topic and have mostly stopped paying attention, so I'm willing to take your word for it but I'm surprised to hear that. I thought most mass shootings were done with assault rifles.
Well, if you're talking banning handguns then really you're talking banning guns entirely. Let's pretend that's even remotely feasible, how does that work? Everyone turn in their guns and the police are defunded or what? What's done about 3D printed guns are we going to have to lose all rights to internet anonymity and try stamping it out with some kind of totalatarian approach like you need a real I.D. to connect to the internet?
Yes, the data is readily available on that.

Who here said anything about banning all handguns or defunding the police? Who said a thing about defunding police here?
"It'd probably also help if hyperbole surrounding gun banning was toned down"
Take your own advice and quit with the manufactured strawman arguments.
As others have said, we have to start with a few common sensical pieces of gun legislation like mandatory universal background checks, mandatory regular mental health evaluations, holding gun owners accountable for securing firearms, etc. 250,000 firearms are stolen each year from so-called "responsible" gun owners. What we can't do is just throw out "thoughts and prayers" every other day while someone's family is mowed down by another maniac with that purchased an AR-15 or handgun like it was bubblegum.- 2

Other than say BB guns, airguns etc handguns are probably the least lethal and they're probably the most widespread guns both legally and illegally, I assume.
You don't do a mass shooting with handguns anyway due to limited magazine size, fire rate and accuracy(much harder than in the movies).
No good would come from trying to ban handguns in USA. Gun owners would, somewhat justifiably imo, be livid.
Most mass shootings and gun-related deaths are from handguns.

I love the new releases overall, but I do think Slash's guitar sounds too compressed or something compared to the Live Era. Overall, still very happy to have these recordings. I hope we get everything from the vault one day.

The solo at 3:00 onwards completely blew my mind
hot damn, that's the best Slash solo I've heard in a long time. I've said it once and I'll say it again, Slash's best playing has always been on his ballads. He's one of the most emotional and expressive players of all time, and that's a great example.

Slash still does SKMC because Guns doesn't do anything. We all know why. It's been 6 years, and we've only got two songs so far. Slash isn't going to sit around while Axl does whatever he does. If GNR(Axl) were really interested in putting out a new album, obviously, Slash's priorities would be there. He knows that's where the real $$$ is. But, there's no point of dumping SKMC when Guns(Axl) has no honest intention of releasing new music.

Gonna give the rest of the Live songs a listen, sounds significantly better than the album. Wow, the producer seriously dropped the ball on mixing the album. I thought people were exaggerating that point , but after giving a few songs a listen live, it's night and day.

Probably his weakest album yet. Fill My World is probably the only song I'll keep on my Slash playlist. Actions Speak Louder Than Words is a nice bluesy Snakepit like song, but the solo was weak. All of them were, really. And yeah, the mix sucked. The sitar in Spirt Love sounded like it was recorded inside a box. With two stinkers from GNR and a stinker SMKC album, I'm sadly very disappointed.

I've learned to separate the artist from their music a long time ago. I love the music they(use to) put out, but considering their past, I wouldn't be surprised to hear they've done some pretty sketchy shit.

I think everyone's best work is behind them back in Guns N' Roses' heyday. That said, Slash just being far more active means he's going to strike gold a lot more than Axl was ever going to with his one album.
Just a few of my favorites of his solo stuff just off the top of my head. Obviously, the actual list is probably double or triple this. Axl has maybe a 4 songs I like off of CD. Slash's solo stuff has a lot of generic filler in them, but he always has at least a few quality songs on every album. That's a victory in my book when the alternative is to put out absolutely nothing.

Yea that post was a joke. I bet this guy was in diapers when I was following Slash’s every project from Snakepit, Blues ball, Camp Freddy, Rock Recovery, the project, VR, Elan, By the sword to SMKC. I think I’m entitled to the opinion that Slash’s work has progressively gotten worse and more rushed the past 5yrs
I don't entirely disagree. To be fair, he does have the never ending NITL tour eating up a chunk of his time. Probably wouldn't be farfetched to think some of his better stuff is in reserve for a GNR album too, should that ever happen.

It's not even a proper ballad But there is one on that album.
135k views (707k subscribers), not bad compared to HS lyric video - 187k (9,58M subscribers), released on the same day.
I think it's a typical Slash style ballad ala Back and Forth Again, Back to the Moment, Starlight, Battleground, etc

I've always enjoyed Slash's ballads, I think he's at his best with these kinds of songs. I hope this isn't the only ballad on the album.

It's fine, not great, but fine. If it's at least on par with the other albums, I'll be happy. Crazy how much more material Slash and his band put out versus Guns N` Roses. I've said it before, I wish Slash would just focus entirely on his solo efforts if Guns aren't going to get moving on new material.

Nightrain from this show
It's been a while since I kept up with recent GNR shows, but are they done with playing songs at a bazillion BPM? This is a breath of fresh air compared to how fast they were playing before.
Also, I second that Fortus should stick to Chinese material. What was that first solo, woof...Leave the bluesy Appetite stuff to Slash and give him the shreddy Chinese stuff. And, yes, Axl sounded great here.- 3

Slash putting in the work keeping Gibson alive. Their level of partnership is unprecedented. He must be a huge cash cow for them. Props to them both.
Glad to see Slash still out there making music, unlike someone else.

I'm the opposite. I'd rather Slash and Duff just leave GNR and either make a new band/reform VR or go do their own solo projects like they were doing. Everyone has had a chance to see this half reunion, and I feel like it's run its course. It would be different if they were committed to new music, but that's never going to happen. Would much rather Slash focus on his own band, which honestly, I felt put on better shows anyway. That won't happen, of course, as Slash/Duff are making waaaay too much money touring in GNR. I don't blame them for that. We would all do the same.

They're not wasting anything. They're still releasing albums with their side projects while playing concerts with gnr. It's a win win for them
Less than they would have. If he's spending the majority of his time doing the nostalgia tour, he's got way less time to do other things. Slash has definitely slowed down since rejoining the band. One album in 6 years, 7 if he doesn't release one this year. Obviously, he's welcome to do whatever. I'll go see Slash, whether its Guns or SMKC, but would rather he just move on and focus on new music full time.

I have a long time ago now. I don't care what Axl does anymore. He's created one album in 27 years, but I hate the fact Duff and Slash are wasting the rest of their good years left with him. I mean, I guess it makes perfect financial sense, I would just much rather they went and started their own band together, revived VR, or just went back to their solo projects.

No disagreement there, I can't see them doing anything now.
Slash and Duff might not have a problem working with Matt, But with how Jealous Matt clearly is, Would he want to work with Slash and Duff after being shoved aside? I know it's only hypothetical, But People never thought the NITL tour would happen
Of course he would, he's not going to turn down a far bigger paycheck than whatever crumbs he's making now, relatively speaking, of course..

Was just curious as to what kind of neck was on Slash's 88 Les Paul standard. Never knew if they were making skinny neck or fatter necks then. Anyone know for sure?
There was just one profile in those days, if I'm not mistaken. They were in between a 50s and 60s neck

Good to see Slash out there still collaborating and making music. I dont wanna live in a world where I don't have more Slash music to look forward to.

Opinions differ.
I prefer the fillers on both Illusions over the best CD songs. Honestly I have more fun with TSI than with CD.
The so-called "filler" on UYI are some of my favorite GNR songs, period. CD can't even begin to hold a candle to those. If we were to ever get a new GNR album, I would want it something close in the style/sound of UYI.

Beautiful, as always. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I really wish Slash would just quit GNR and focus on his solo work. The man is a brilliant guitarist and I don't want him spending the remaining good years he has left wasting away with Axl, no offense to him. I want more Conspirators stuff, I want a third Snakepit album! Fat chance, I know. But, hell, probably have a better chance of that than another Guns album. I just want more stuff from Slash.
